“I…” With so many questions, Leo didn’t know which one to answer first.
“Mom, why are you asking him all this?” Jason suddenly shouted. “He’s from the Meredith family, not related to us. Let him go!”
Jason’s words clearly indicated to everyone that although Leo resembled his second brother, he wasn’t part of the Bloomer family, urging everyone not to overthink.
“Director Bloomer, that’s not entirely correct. While this child may not be a direct member of your family, eight hundred years ago, you were indeed one family. Because his surname is also Bloomer,” Josiah said with a smile, a glint in his eyes.
His words caused an uproar in the hall.
Even if this young man wasn’t named Bloomer, his resemblance to the second master of the Bloomer family was undeniable. Who would believe there was no connection?
Though they knew the second master’s only son had died, the possibility of an illegitimate child couldn’t be ruled out. For someone of the second master’s status, having a few women outside was normal.
However, Jackson Bloomer’s wife, Jenna Key, didn’t think so. She knew her husband well. In this lifetime, Jackson Bloomer would never have another woman besides her!
So this child couldn’t possibly be her and Jackson Bloomer’s son!
But then again, why did this child look so much like her husband?
Seeing Leo reminded her of her deceased son.
Old Mrs. Bloomer’s eyes brightened when she heard Leo’s surname was also Bloomer, and a glimmer of hope ignited in her heart.
She gripped Leo’s hand tighter and asked eagerly, “Child, tell Grandma your name.”
For years, Old Mrs. Bloomer was the only one in the family who didn’t believe her grandson had died. More accurately, she didn’t want to believe it.
“My name is Leo Bloomer from Langstel. My parents disappeared when I was very young, and my grandmother raised me,” Leo answered truthfully.
The kindness in Old Mrs. Bloomer’s eyes made Leo’s heart soften instantly. When he was young, his grandmother looked at him with the same eyes. Unfortunately, she had passed away long ago.
Langstel? Parents disappeared?
Leo’s answer made Old Mrs. Bloomer tremble violently. Her hands shook as she gripped Leo’s hand tighter, fearing he might vanish before her eyes.
She hadn’t been to Langstel in over twenty years. Despite having many old friends there, she never returned after her grandson’s death. Even hearing the word “Langstel” broke her heart.
“Leon Bloomer! You are Leon Bloomer!” Old Mrs. Bloomer’s tears flowed uncontrollably.
This child must be Leon Bloomer, her grandson. Otherwise, how could everything be so coincidental, even their names so similar?
Leon Bloomer!?
Leo was also shocked. The second young master of the Bloomer family had a name almost identical to his!
Could it really be just a coincidence?!
“Mom! He’s not Leon Bloomer. Leon Bloomer died long ago!” Jason shouted anxiously upon seeing this scene.
“No, he is Leon Bloomer! He is my Leon Bloomer!” Old Mrs. Bloomer pulled Leo closer and reached out to touch his face with trembling hands.
Leo bent down slightly, feeling a deep sorrow as he looked at the weeping old lady. It seemed she deeply loved her second grandson.
“Wife, stop it. You’re scaring the child!” Nicholas quickly pulled his wife back.
He looked at Leo with complex emotions, his heart filled with mixed feelings.
He missed his grandson just as much as his wife did, but their second grandson had been dead for over twenty years.
“Yes, Mom, you’re scaring him,” Jason said as he walked over and pulled Leo away.
He took out a tissue and knelt before his mother to wipe her tears gently. “Mom, we all know you miss Leon Bloomer, but he’s gone. You can’t deceive yourself.”
“Josiah, please take your people and leave. Today is supposed to be a happy day, but you’ve brought a stranger here and made my mom cry!”
Old Mrs. Bloomer’s eldest daughter couldn’t help but scold Josiah coldly. She glanced disdainfully at Leo before walking over to comfort her mother softly.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to upset the old lady. I had good intentions.”
“This child is from Langstel, lost his parents at a young age, has the surname Bloomer, and looks so much like Jackson. And his age matches too. How can all this be just a coincidence?”
“Most importantly, the child who died back then had his face and skin ruined by water. Who knows if it was really Leon or just a substitute…”
“Shut up!” Jason stood up abruptly and interrupted Josiah angrily, veins bulging on his forehead. “Josiah, if you continue spouting nonsense and upsetting my mother, don’t blame me for being rude!”
“Alright, alright, it’s my fault for being too direct. But what I said is true.”
“If the old lady and old man want us to leave, we’ll go immediately and ensure this child never steps into the Bloomer family again!”
Josiah turned to Nicholas and Old Mrs. Bloomer with a smile, waiting for their response.
“Grandpa, make them leave!” Jason’s eldest daughter Annabel Bloomer said coldly. “My brother is dead. The forensic doctor confirmed it back then. You must accept this reality!”
“Just because someone looks like our family doesn’t mean they are part of it! There are many look-alikes in the world. If you let this continue, who knows how many strays will come claiming to be part of the Bloomer family!”
She glared at Leo disdainfully as if looking at a beggar.
Leo’s face darkened upon hearing this. It seemed Jason’s family didn’t welcome him at all.
But thinking about it made sense. The family fortune was meant for Jason’s three children. Now an extra brother appeared out of nowhere; who would be happy about that?
Although Sheldon hadn’t spoken, his gaze towards Leo was full of resentment.
Only Xavier looked at Leo with curiosity, seemingly not recognizing him as the one who beat him in the bar that day.
Josiah frowned and gave Annabel a cold look. This ignorant girl dared to tell him to leave.
“Leo, since we’re not welcome here, there’s no need to stay. Whether you’re part of the Bloomer family no longer matters. Let’s go!” Josiah called out to Leo and turned to leave.
