Chapter 1348: Shadow-bearing Sword

The wall that had been struck by the sword blade now bore a groove over ten centimeters long and three to four centimeters deep, yet the blade remained unscathed.
Leo carefully examined the bronze sword in his hand. The sword was over fifty centimeters long, with a width of about four to five centimeters. The blade was slender with a central ridge, and both edges were razor-sharp.
The front edge curved inward, and the middle of the blade featured two raised bands. The round pommel was decorated with concentric circles, and the blade was adorned with regular black diamond-shaped patterns and ten bird-script inscriptions. The guard was inlaid with blue crystal on the front and turquoise on the back.
The entire sword was exquisitely crafted and felt heavy in his hand.
Leo suddenly flicked his wrist, thrusting the sword skyward. The blade trembled, emitting a faint humming sound. Under the morning sun, the blade gleamed like autumn frost, capable of cutting through gold and jade!
“Atraria’s ancient famous sword… Shadow-bearing Sword!”
A startled cry came from the alley entrance, followed by the sight of the small-eyed man running over quickly.
Shadow-bearing Sword was an elegant and refined weapon.
Leo’s expression changed; he hadn’t expected the small-eyed man to follow him.
“My God, it’s really the Shadow-bearing Sword!” The small-eyed man was so shocked his eyes nearly popped out.
“What did you say?” Leo twisted his wrist, hiding the sword behind his back.
“The sword in your hand is one of the top ten famous swords of the Roman era, the Shadow-bearing Sword!” The small-eyed man regretted deeply.
He finally understood Leo’s intention earlier. No wonder he was willing to spend half a million dollars on a pile of junk; it turned out there was such a treasure among them.
Had he not been suspicious and followed out of curiosity, he would never have dreamed that there was a Shadow-bearing Sword among the junk!
He had always been deeply interested in bronze artifacts and could confirm that this was indeed the Shadow-bearing Sword!
“I don’t understand what you’re saying. This is just an ordinary ancient sword,” Leo feigned ignorance.
“Kid, don’t mess with me! This sword was discovered by both of us; I deserve a share!”
“Share? I already paid for it!” Leo looked at him as if he were an idiot.
“Fine, you won’t share? I’ll report you. Selling bronze artifacts is illegal!” The small-eyed man took a step forward and pretended to make a phone call.
“Get lost! Or I’ll cut you down with this sword!” Leo glared at him, threateningly.
“If you dare touch me, you won’t leave the capital alive!”
Without another word, Leo kicked him hard.
The small-eyed man flew backward.
It took him a long time to regain consciousness, but by then Leo was nowhere to be seen.
He painfully got up from the ground, spat angrily, and cursed, “You little brat, don’t let me see you again!”
Outside the hotel entrance, Leo met Marina Meredith’s taxi driver brother, Baldwin Meredith.
Hearing that Josiah Meredith wanted to see him, Leo got into Baldwin Meredith’s car.
Upon arriving at the Meredith family home, Josiah Meredith and Harvey Chapmanson were already waiting at the door. Baldwin Meredith sneered slightly, feeling disdainful that his father had to personally greet Leo.
“Uncle Josiah, hello,” Leo smiled.
“Please come in,” Josiah Meredith said warmly.
Baldwin Meredith’s mother resembled Marina Meredith somewhat. She was dignified and spoke with an air of scholarly elegance, clearly from a distinguished family.
She was very courteous to Leo, constantly serving him food during the meal.
“Where is Marina?” Leo asked curiously when he noticed only four people at the table.
“Marina went to her grandfather’s,” Josiah Meredith replied with a smile. “Don’t worry, I promised you something, and I’ll keep my word. I’ve already spoken to the Wrightao family to postpone the wedding for now.”
“I heard you had a conflict with Xavier from the Bloomer family?” Josiah Meredith asked with interest.
“Yes, we fought in a bar that day,” Leo replied with a smile, not hiding anything.
“Haha, Xavier has quite a rebellious nature. If you join the Bloomer family in the future, he might give you some trouble,” Josiah Meredith laughed. “But Jason Bloomer’s son is reasonable and talented.”
“Dad, you’re speaking too soon. It’s not certain if he’s really from the Bloomer family,” Baldwin Meredith scoffed at Leo.
He didn’t want Leo to climb up to the Bloomer family’s level; otherwise, Leo would look down on him even more.
“Unfortunately, the second master of the Bloomer family isn’t in the capital. He went to Brurgh’s border half a year ago and hasn’t returned. A paternity test might take some time,” Josiah Meredith said with a frown as he suddenly remembered this detail.
“No problem, Dad. We can do a test with Grandpa now. It costs more, so it’s not commonly done in regular hospitals,” Baldwin said.
“That’s great!” Josiah said excitedly. “Leo, are you ready? If you are, I’ll personally take you to the Bloomer family to celebrate their matriarch’s birthday in a few days!”
“This…”
To be honest, Leo wasn’t mentally prepared for this recognition of ancestry.
In fact, besides his grandmother who raised him, Leo had no impression of his parents and subconsciously always thought of himself as an orphan without parents.
But it would be good to find out if he was part of the Bloomer family sooner rather than later, so he agreed.
During this meal, Leo learned about the Bloomer family’s structure from Josiah.
The Bloomer family patriarch was named Nicholas Bloomer, a figure who had fought alongside the chairman and held significant status.
The eldest son, Jason Bloomer, was head of the National Security Department; the second son, Jackson Bloomer, held a major general rank with classified national duties; and the third son, Jacob Bloomer, was an important figure in the Ministry of Propaganda.
The three sons of the Bloomer family were all influential figures.
