Quentin’s relentless attacks left Pierce unable to withstand them. He fell to his knees, clutching his abdomen and coughing up blood.
Before he could react, Quentin grabbed his collar and hauled him up.
Pierce’s head was slammed against the nearby wall with a loud bang. He felt as if his head was splitting open, the pain nearly causing him to faint.
Quentin pressed Pierce’s head against the wall, his cold voice echoing in Pierce’s ear. “I don’t care who you are, but if you dare harass Riya again, I guarantee you’ll pay the price. And the people behind you won’t be able to protect you either.”
“Consider this your final warning. If you seek death again, I’ll oblige.”
With that, Quentin released him and got back into the driver’s seat. “Open the gate.”
As his icy words fell, those in the security room swallowed hard and obediently raised the barrier.
Quentin floored the gas pedal, and the car sped through.
No one dared to stop him.
Quentin was so fierce, they couldn’t possibly take him on. Who would dare to bring trouble upon themselves?
Moreover, if even Pierce got beaten up, wouldn’t it be even more foolish for them to step in? They weren’t that stupid.
“Damn it!”
Watching Quentin’s car disappear into the distance, Pierce’s eyes were filled with venom and rage.
Pierce had been dominating this area for so long, mastering both the underworld and the legitimate world. Yet, he was beaten by a young punk like this. How could he face anyone now? People would laugh at him for being a failure!
He couldn’t swallow this humiliation.
“Riya, you wretch, just wait. I’ll make sure you clean yourself up and serve me in bed! And that punk, I’ll make sure you have no place to be buried.”
He had lost face this time, but he wouldn’t let it go easily.
Pierce had always aimed to be on top. How could he let others trample over him? That wasn’t his style.
In his eyes, Quentin was just a reckless youth.
Quentin parked the battered car in the lot and said to Riya, “Riya, go upstairs and change your clothes quickly.”
“Devon is probably still waiting for us at the hospital. He must be seriously injured.”
Riya replied, “I’m a bit scared to go up alone. Can you come with me?”
Quentin thought for a moment. Given everything that had happened today, it was understandable that Riya felt insecure. He nodded in agreement.
Seeing Quentin agree, Riya opened the car door and stepped out gracefully.
They walked upstairs together.
Riya’s room was simple and cozy since she only lived with Aubree. They didn’t need much space, so their place wasn’t large.
It was the first time Riya had brought a man back to her small home, and she felt an inexplicable shyness.
She smiled at Quentin. “Quentin, sit here for a while. I’ll go change my clothes.”
It was Quentin’s first time being alone with a mature woman. He didn’t dare look around too much and nodded. “Alright, go ahead.”
Riya took her clothes and walked into the bathroom. Knowing there was a man waiting outside made her feel a bit strange, so she wanted to change quickly. Unexpectedly, she tripped.
“Ah-”
She screamed!
There was a loud thud from the bathroom.
Quentin heard Riya’s scream and immediately tensed up, standing up at once.
Could someone be lying in wait at her home?
