Bianca stood there, feeling overwhelmed, and nodded quietly.
After saying goodbye to Paige and the others, Bianca packed her things and left the resort.
During the drive, Bianca was visibly distracted. Her mind was still reeling from Blake’s words, which made her feel a bit lightheaded.
Bianca was lost in thought as they reached the steps outside the resort. She stumbled and almost fell, but Blake quickly caught her.
Seeing Bianca’s pale face, Blake expressed concern. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Bianca replied, forcing a smile.
“Let me help you down,” Blake offered, worried she might stumble again. He gently took her arm and guided her down the steps.
Meanwhile, at the resort gate, Dave suddenly stopped. He noticed Blake and Bianca coming down the steps together.
Blake carefully supported Bianca, watching over her. Sometimes, she looked up at him, her eyes reflecting tenderness.
They walked together, creating a picturesque scene.
Dave, watching them, felt a twinge in his eyes.
Just as Bianca was about to thank Blake after coming down the stairs, she noticed Dave staring at them intensely.
She looked up and saw Dave standing in front of her. His deep, narrow eyes looked cold.
He was wearing a black shirt, and the thin fabric of his jacket emphasized his broad chest and shoulders. His top buttons were undone, and his sleeves were casually rolled up, revealing his arms, adding to his mature and aloof appearance.
Bianca pulled her arm away from Blake, her brow furrowing. “Mr. Evans.”
She hurried over to Dave and stood before him, surprise and curiosity in her eyes.
“What are you doing here?”
With one hand casually in his pocket, Dave extended his arm to place it around Bianca’s waist. “I was here with my boss for a client meeting, but I didn’t expect to see you here. Are you here for the hot springs? With him?”
Dave’s gaze turned cold and calculating as he looked towards Blake.
Bianca quickly tried to explain to Dave, “Mrs. Lopez invited me here today. I didn’t know Blake would be here until I arrived.”
Dave grinned, but Bianca sensed doubt in his eyes.
Bianca knew Dave disliked Blake. Plus, their past scandal was still in the news. She understood his suspicion, but it still hurt.
Just then, Blake joined them and smiled at Dave. “Don’t get the wrong idea, sir. Bianca and I are just friends. We didn’t plan to meet here today. It was a surprise for both of us.”
Blake gave Bianca a teasing look and added, “But it’s funny how often you show up when I’m around Bianca. It’s like she has a tracker on her. Is it fate or something else…”
Blake’s casual remark instantly sparked tension between them.
Dave gave Blake a cold glare, his eyes narrowing.
Bianca felt restless about Blake’s comment.
Why did she keep crossing paths with Dave wherever she went? A chance meeting once or twice could be luck, but with so many encounters stacking up, it seemed suspicious.
It was difficult to believe in so many coincidences in this world.
Bianca glanced at Dave and noticed the tense atmosphere between him and Blake.
Dave scoffed, “Well, I guess they were all lucky accidents. It’s quite a coincidence for you two to ‘accidentally’ meet at a hot spring resort. And it’s not surprising for me to be here too, is it?”
Bianca caught the underlying meaning in his words and the barely concealed hostility in his demeanor. She touched Dave’s arm to ease the tension and whispered, “Are you heading back tonight? I have work tomorrow, and there’s no bus at this hour. Blake offered me a ride, but since you’re here and if you’re going back…”
Before Bianca could finish, Dave pulled her into a warm hug.
Bianca relaxed into his embrace, her delicate, enticing fragrance seeming to captivate him effortlessly.
Dave gently held Bianca’s shoulder, drawing her into a strong embrace. He looked at her with a hint of surprise and said, “You’ve already got a man. Why would you need anyone else?”
Bianca leaned against him, looking up with innocent eyes. “But if you take me back, won’t your boss be upset?”
“I’ve finished my work for today,” Dave replied calmly. “I have some free time now.”
Bianca nodded subtly, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that running into Dave here, with his work done and ready to drive her back, was too much of a lucky coincidence.
She had many questions, but she chose not to voice them in front of Blake.
With Dave now present, Bianca felt she no longer needed Blake’s offer. She turned to him and said, “Since my boyfriend is here, I won’t need a ride from you. You should go back to Mrs. Lopez. Thanks for offering, though.”
“But…” Blake looked at Dave’s icy expression and couldn’t shake the feeling that Dave showing up here wasn’t just a coincidence.
Concerned for Bianca, Blake stepped forward, positioning himself in front of Dave. He wanted to clear any misunderstandings and insisted, “There’s nothing between me and her. Please trust her, and don’t make things difficult when you both head back.”
Dave listened to Blake’s explanation, which sounded like an excuse to him. He tightened his lips and gave Blake a sideways glance.
“Stay out of our business and keep your distance from her,” Dave said firmly, his tone filled with authority and disdain.
Blake’s expression hardened. He couldn’t shake a growing sense of unease. He stared at Dave, firm in his defense. “Bianca is my friend. I won’t stand by if she’s mistreated!”
Dave let out a cold snort, meeting Blake’s gaze with an impassive stare. His eyes were deep and mysterious in the moonlight. “She is my girlfriend, and I am her man. What happens between us is none of your concern.”
Dave’s declaration carried a strong meaning.
Blake stood frozen, unable to find any words.
All he could do was watch as Dave walked away with Bianca in his arms, his fists clenched in frustration.
Once they were out of sight, Blake pounded the wall in anguish, leaving a mark smeared with blood.
Upon learning that Blake and Bianca had gone to a hot spring resort together, Dave hastily left his meeting and drove there as fast as possible.
Imagining Bianca with Blake at the hot springs sparked intense jealousy in Dave, shattering his normally composed demeanor.
Fear and anxiety consumed him.
He dreaded the possibility of being too late, and the idea of Bianca being with someone else was unbearable.
Pressing harder on the accelerator, the biting cold wind pierced through his clothes, failing to cool his heated emotions.
His reckless speed nearly caused him to collide with an oncoming car, but he swerved just in time to avoid a crash.
