Chapter 122: I Will Bring You Down

The only person not looking up was Dave. Instead, he was captivated by the radiant glow in Bianca’s eyes.
“Mr. Evans, look! The fireworks are real!” Bianca had never seen such a beautiful combination of stars and fireworks. Tears filled her eyes as she tried to pull Dave’s arm, but his gaze remained fixed on hers. “Mr. Evans, don’t look at me. Look at the fireworks!”
However, Dave gently took hold of her and kissed her softly on the lips, catching her off guard.
Bianca looked into Dave’s eyes, wide with surprise, as they sparkled beneath the fireworks.
After the tender kiss, he whispered softly in her ear. His deep, magnetic voice carried infinite tenderness and romance.
The fireworks were stunning, painting the starry sky with shimmering lights.
Then he said, “The stars don’t shine as brightly as you.”
Bianca’s heart raced with excitement as she held Dave’s hand, their fingers intertwining.
Underneath the starry sky and amid the fireworks, she made a silent wish.
She wished to be with Dave forever, never to be apart.
Meanwhile, Ashley had returned home. She lay on her bed, turning on her phone, eager to see the online backlash against Bianca after the day’s events were posted.
She quickly hovered through tweets but found no news related to today’s events.
How could this happen?
Ashley searched thoroughly but found nothing about today’s events as if it had been a quiet day.
Suddenly, a trending topic caught her eye.
“Starry night and fireworks at Dream Amusement Park tonight.”
Ashley clicked on the top trending topic with trembling hands, feeling increasingly shocked.
She strained her eyes, looking through numerous photos and videos.
The stunning fireworks, captured in the images and videos, exploded brightly against the starry background, more magnificent than any fireworks Ashley had seen before.
Fireworks were rare at Dream Amusement Park, usually reserved for big events. How could Bianca have been so lucky? Ashley couldn’t understand how Bianca found such a spectacular display of fireworks and stars on an ordinary day.
And how was there a starry sky on a night with this weather?
Ashley scrolled through the comments.
“They used drones to make that starry sky.”
“OMG! There are so many drones filling the sky. How much did this cost? Dream Amusement Park must be really rich.”
“Is today a special day or something?”
“It’s just a regular Saturday.”
“Could this be a romantic gesture planned by the owner of Dream Amusement Park for someone special?”
“It’s possible. We can’t understand the world of the wealthy.”
The starry night, the fireworks, and the hidden news today fueled Ashley’s suspicions that a powerful figure was backing Bianca.
‘Could it be her male companion? Or maybe Vincent, Blake, or…’
‘How many influential men were supporting Bianca?’
Ashley’s fists clenched, her nails digging into her skin as jealousy consumed her.
Why did Bianca effortlessly get everything she wanted? Ashley had never known the love of a father since birth. She and her mother struggled at the bottom of society, enduring mistreatment and oppression.
Eventually, Ashley and her mother moved into the Scott household. The first time Ashley saw Bianca, she was struck by Bianca’s innocent appearance.
From the moment Bianca was born, she had lived the life Ashley could only dream of.
Ashley and her mother worked tirelessly in the Scott family day after day. Eventually, Ashley’s mother married Peter. Ashley played the role of the obedient and dutiful daughter, trying hard to please Peter. She longed for his love, hoping he would notice her more. Yet, he always looked at Bianca with adoring eyes.
No matter how hard Ashley tried, she could never match Bianca.
Bianca was Peter’s beloved daughter, while Ashley felt like a mere servant, always in Bianca’s shadow, amplifying her glory.
Jealousy, bitterness, and a sense of injustice consumed Ashley. Why did Bianca deserve everything that had always been out of Ashley’s reach?
Ashley refused to accept her fate. She was determined to seize everything Bianca had.
She thought getting involved with Joshua would help her surpass Bianca easily. However, every time she clashed with Bianca, Bianca managed to escape unscathed. Strangely, Ashley often traps herself in trouble without any apparent reason.
Previously, Ashley had brushed off these incidents as mere coincidences, but today’s events left no doubt in her mind.
Feeling deeply unsettled, Ashley quickly dialed Haris’s number.
“What’s taking you so long? It’s been ages, and Bianca is still unharmed. Do you still want that million dollars or not?”
Haris grumbled, “There’s a guy with her now. I haven’t found the right chance yet. But don’t worry. He won’t be with her forever. I’m determined to find my opportunity to face her.”
“Alright, I’ll trust you once more. Just don’t let me down again.”
After hanging up the phone, Ashley stared out the window at the darkened sky and vowed, “Bianca, I will bring you down, take everything from you, and strip away your pride.”

After the fireworks, Elaine fell asleep, exhausted. Dave held the little girl with one hand and walked through the park with Bianca.
“Mr. Evans, I never knew you were so good with kids,” Bianca said, glancing at the tall, strong man beside her. Right now, he seemed gentle and dependable, like a protective father figure.
Dave looked back at Bianca, thinking about how he felt. He never used to like children, but being around Bianca changed something in him. The idea of starting a family with her began to appeal to him.
The thought of spending his life with Bianca filled his heart.
Dave took her hand and asked, “Did you have a good time today?”
“Absolutely,” Bianca said with a smile. “I’m thrilled. Today has been the happiest day of my life.”
“Bianca,” Dave said, stopping and looking at Bianca affectionately. “From now on, I’ll make sure you’re always this happy. Stay with me forever, alright?”
His sincere declarations always caught her off guard, yet they were genuine and filled with love.
Bianca felt a rush of emotion.
Gazing at him with shining eyes, she replied, “As long as you’re with me, I’ll never go away.”
Dave’s happiness was clear as he wrapped his arm around her, leaning in for a kiss, but then he remembered he was still holding Elaine. He straightened up, his lips pursed in disappointment.
Bianca couldn’t help but laugh at his childish pout. She jokingly said, “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here.”
With his arm around her, Dave looked into her eyes and asked, “Are you suggesting we can continue this at home? Since you’ve hinted at it, I won’t let you down tonight.”
“Dave!” Bianca blushed. Feeling embarrassed, she quickly stepped away from his embrace and walked ahead with determined strides.
