Alpha Ricardo’s POV
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have…” I tried apologizing, but she stopped me. “It’s okay,” she said with a weak smile and sat back on the bed. I watched her wipe away some droplets of tears from her eyes and went into deep thoughts. “What are you thinking?” I asked, and she didn’t respond immediately. Instead, she stood up and stared outside the window for a while before turning to hold my gaze.
“I want to forgive you,” she paused and sucked a deep breath. “But it’s going to take a lot of time…” I did not let her finish her words before speaking. “I will wait even if it takes eternity.” I spoke truthfully and saw her nod before walking up to me. She flashed me a warm smile and returned to the bed. She sat and held my gaze, and none of us said a word until I decided to speak.
“Do you need me to do anything for you?” I asked, and she shook her head. “I have all I need,” she responded with a smile that fluttered my heart.
“Mine!” Eric growled in my head, causing a familiar type of feeling to envelop my entire body. “I’ll leave.” I said and quickly teleported away before I wouldn’t be able to control myself. I found myself in my room and sucked a deep breath. Staying so close to her and not being able to touch her was a great torture for me.
With a heavy sigh, I sat on the couch and thought of her. She has gone through a lot, and now is the time to give her enough happiness which she deserves. “A honeymoon,” Eric suggested. “Do you think she would agree to it? She didn’t even agree to the marriage,” I grumbled, but Eric urged me to do it.
Pondering in thoughts, I stood to my feet and walked aimlessly around the room. I knew so little about her. I couldn’t tell her favorite color, country, or things she loves doing. “There is room to learn,” Eric encouraged me, and I sucked a deep breath before making a mind link to someone.
“Sarah!” I called through the mind link.
“Alpha Ricardo?” She asked to be sure. “That’s correct,” I said, and she instantly greeted.
“How are you?” I asked, “I’m doing okay, Alpha.” She responded respectfully.
“Your friend is awake.” I announced, “Yes, alpha, she just communicated with me, and I’m on my way to her.” She responded.
“I need your help,”
“How may I help you?” She asked, eager to know what I needed from her.
“I need you to tell me everything about Mia. I want to know her dislikes and likes. I want to know her favorite country and color, just tell me everything she loves.” I pleaded, and Sarah remained silent for a moment before saying, “Where do I begin from?” “Anywhere,” I said, and she began speaking.
She told me everything I need to know about Mia, from her favorite colors to her favorite gift. She told me everything, and I made sure I listened attentively.
“Thanks for the help,” I thanked her and ended the mind link.
“So what’s next?” Eric asked, and a smile appeared on my face before I made another mind link. “Jayson.” I called.
“Yes Alpha.” He responded.
“Hey man, I need you to arrange the private jet and also set up a trip to Miami, I and Mia will be leaving in two days.”
“Roger that.” He said.
“Wait up,” I called out. “I want a cottage, right by the sea. Somewhere quiet and secluded, but with a good view of the ocean.”
“It seems someone is planning a honeymoon,” Jayson teased, and I couldn’t help but smile. “I just want her to be happy,” I replied with a deep sigh.
“Don’t worry about it, man. She will be happy with you,” he assured me while I nodded in appreciation. “Thanks for being by my side,” I expressed gratefully.
“Stop it. You would do the same for me,” he responded and I nodded.
“Don’t worry, I’ll take care of everything,” Jayson assured me. “You just sit back and enjoy your trip.”
“Alright, I’ll end her,” I said and ended the mind link. With a relieved smile, I paced back and forth, imagining how it would feel to spend a week on vacation with Mia. I had dreamt about such moments, holding her in my arms and telling her she was mine, and I just couldn’t wait.
The next day, we were having breakfast, and I watched as Mia slowly ate her meal. I wanted to tell her about the trip, but I was scared that she wouldn’t agree to it.
“My father’s funeral is tonight, but I’m not going,” she grumbled, and I nodded. “That’s a good decision,” I said and saw her go into deep thought. I decided to bring up the trip.
“Would you go on a vacation with me?” I asked nervously, and saw her stare at me with a confused expression.
“I arranged a trip to Miami , will you come with me?” I asked and held her expressionless face for a moment before she flashed a big smile at me. “Really?” she asked, and I nodded.
“Thank you, I always wanted to visit Miami,” she spoke happily, causing my heart to flutter with joy.
“We are leaving tomorrow,” I announced, and she nodded happily, still holding my gaze. I couldn’t contain the joy I felt in my heart, seeing her so happy.
“Thank you,” she spoke again, and I responded with a smile. We ate in silence until we were both done. Mia said she would go back to her room and pack her things, even when I told her not to because we would get what we needed once we arrived.
While Mia went back to her room, I went to the office and arranged things with Jayson. I knew I could come to the office whenever I wanted, but I wanted avoided doing it. I wanted to focus only on Mia and nothing else.
I was busy throughout the day, signing and sorting documents that needed attention. Because of what happened to Mia, I refused to come to work, resulting in many works piled up for me.
“I think this is okay,” Jayson spoke, and my secretary nodded. “You must be tired and hungry. Why don’t you eat something and go to bed? Your flight is at 8 am,” Jayson spoke, and I nodded in agreement.
“I’ll take my leave now,” I said and teleported to Mia’s door since I hadn’t seen her since breakfast. I knocked on the door, and she asked me in.
When I got in, I saw her seated before the mirror, combing her hair. She held my gaze through the mirror and flickered a warm smile at me. “Mine!” Eric howled in my head, sending a familiar feeling down my stomach.
“I heard you were in your office all day,” she spoke, still holding my gaze from the mirror.
“Yes, I needed to make sure everything is in order,” I said, and she nodded before getting up on her feet.
Mia stepped away from the dressing mirror and approached me, concern etched on her face as she took in my fatigued appearance. I had been working long hours, and it was starting to show.
“Are you okay?” she asked softly, placing a hand on my shoulder.
I nodded, trying to put on a brave face, but she saw through my act. “No, you’re not,” she said firmly. “You need to rest.”
Before I could protest, she gently took my arm and led me to the bed. “Sit down,” she instructed, and I obeyed, still confused by her sudden behavior.
Without a word, she went behind me and began to massage my shoulders with her skilled hands. The tension in my muscles began to dissipate under her touch, and I closed my eyes, letting out a deep sigh of relief.
As she worked, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for her presence in my life. It was moments like these that I missed because of my foolish decisions.
After a few minutes, she stopped and leaned in close to my ear. “You should get some rest,” she whispered. “We have an early flight to catch.”
I nodded, feeling a sense of warmth and comfort wash over me. I was lucky to still have her by my side after all I had done.
I stood up and looked at her, wishing I could stay with her and not leave, but I knew that a time would come when I would get to spend a lot of time with her.
“Goodnight,” I said, planting a kiss on her left cheek and inhaling the scent of her lemon shampoo. With a deep breath, I pulled away and stared at her one more time before leaving.
