Alpha Ricardo’s POV
I couldn’t say a word, neither could I lift my face because of guilt. I was so ashamed of my actions and decisions.
I have caused Mia nothing but pain. I showed her nothing but trauma and knew there was no way I could turn back the hands of Time.
”Apologize to her now.” Lord Philip demanded while holding Cassandra’s gaze. ”Do it before I do something terrible.” He threatened.
”Let it be…” Mia tried speaking, but he cut her off, ”Stay out of this.” He demanded, still fixing his gaze on Casey. ”I won’t repeat myself, do it now.” He ordered, making his voice echo all over the room.
Silence filled the place as we all waited for Cassandra to apologize. I watched her hold the gaze of her father, wanting him to say something, but he didn’t, rather he looked away. ”I’m…” She tried speaking, but Lord Philip stopped her. ”On your knees” He demanded.
Embarrassed, she gulped and stepped forward. I watched her fall to her knees right before Mia with a face filled with embarrassment. ”I apologized for what I and my father did, I do hope you could forgive us.” She mumbled, defeated, while Mia just stared at her with a blank look. ”You and your father will definitely pay for what you did to her.” Lord Philip expressed those words as a promise and turned to me.
”You were mates with her and had the guts to cause her so much pain.” He spoke in a low tone, but I could tell he was furious. ”You don’t deserve to be with her…” He paused and moved his gaze to Mia. ”Go get your things, we are leaving.” He declared, while Mia didn’t say a word, rather she turned her gaze to me, and we held gaze with each other.
She didn’t say a word, rather she held my gaze for almost a minute before looking away. ”I’ll go pick some things.” She announced to everyone and turned to leave, but I stopped her with my words. ” You are not leaving!” I declared firmly while holding the gaze of lord Philip, who groaned angrily.
”I need a sample for a DNA test. Until I’m sure she is your daughter, you will have no right to have her.” I declared possessively, leaving no room for argument.
Silence filled the whole place as no one said a word, waiting for lord Philip to speak. ”Fine.” He agreed and stepped forward to me. ”Regardless of what you do, you will never have her.” He declared those words as a vow while holding my gaze.
Still holding my gaze, he grabbed his hair and took off some strands of his hair and brought it forward to me. ”I believe this would be enough.” He said while gesturing me to take the strains of hair from him.
Reluctantly, I took it and handed it to Simone.
I moved my gaze to Cassandra, who stood side by side with Lycan Anthony. ”Go get your things and leave.” I ordered furiously. I was so ashamed of my actions that I didn’t know what to say or do.
”I will take my leave and will be back soon.” Lord Philip said and walked up to Mia. I watched him flickered a big smile at Mia. ”I must be really favored by the goddess to have such an amazing daughter like you…” He gulped and placed his hand on her head. ”I lost your mother, but she gave me you.” He said and placed a kiss on her forehead while Mia flashed him a pleased smile which proved she was already accepting him.
”I will be back soon to take you out of this place.” He promised and took off his hand from her head. ”Lets go son.” He told Alpha Joshua, who nodded his head and moved his gaze to Mia. Without being told, I knew they were communicating with each other, and it pained me so much. ”This is just the beginning, alpha Ricardo.” My wolf spoke angrily, while I just ignored him and looked away.
Alpha Joshua gave me a death glare before leaving with Lord Philip, leaving me with uncle Stephen and Mia. ”I’ll be in your mother’s room.” uncle Stephen announced and left me with Mia.
Silence filled the whole place as I didn’t know what to say or do. In just the space of a few hours, I realized I had been wrong all my life. I treated her so unfairly, and I knew no amount of apologies would take those painful memories away.
”I believe you will also need a sample from me.” She said, breaking the silence. I gulped in misery and didn’t know what to say. ”What?” She scoffed bitterly, ”The almighty alpha Ricardo has lost his tongue?” She mocked and stepped forward to me. I could see so much anger and hatred for me in her eyes, which made my wolf whimper in pain. ”I hate you alpha Ricardo!” She muttered furiously, ”I hate you with everything in me.” she said while my wolf whimpered in discomfort.
”All this while my mother was innocent!” She yelled, getting me confused how she knew. ” You think I wouldn’t know ?” She asked angrily, while I stared at her confused, wondering how she knew. ”Alpha Joshua read through your thoughts and told her everything.” My wolf announced while I gulped and couldn’t say a word.
”All this while I was being tortured by you for a crime my mother and I never committed. You made me go through a lot of pain just because of a fucking lie.” She yelled and began hitting my chest with her both hands, while I just stood, numb.
I allowed her to throw slaps on my chest until she stopped and broke down in tears. I watched her fall to the floor and began sobbing bitterly. As she cried, her whole body trembled with pain, tearing my heart into pieces.
I wished I could comfort her and tell her how sorry I was, but I couldn’t. I was so ashamed of myself that I wished I could change everything.
”Is everything alright.” I heard the voice of Beta Jayson at the door. Quickly, I moved my gaze to the door and saw him walking into the room with a questioning look on his face. He was supposed to be back from Spain two days from now after attending a meeting on my behalf, but I was surprised to see him back.
He got to us and didn’t say a word to me, rather he squatted before Mia and instantly pulled her into his embrace. ”Mine.” My Wolf spoke possessively, while I just stood and watched as my heart was torn into pieces. ”It’s okay!” He whispered while he gently caressed her hair.
I watched her crying loudly in his arms for a while before she stopped and gently pulled away. I watched him help her get to her feet and wipe her cheek with the back of his palms. ”Thanks!” She flashed him a weak smile and walked away.
I watched her climb the stairs until she left my sight. With a heavy sigh, I collapsed on the couch while I roughly massaged my forehead in panic. ”What’s going on?” Jayson asked while sitting beside me. I heard him but couldn’t say a word because I didn’t know what to say. ”How did you find her?” He questioned and got no response from me.
I was short of words because I didn’t know what to say or how to begin telling him all that happened. ”You can start from somewhere.” He says, like he was reading my thoughts.
”I’m the biggest idiot on earth.” I whispered in pain while shutting my eyes, ”How do I make it up to her, where do I start from?” I asked with a heavy sigh. ”What’s going on?” Jayson asked while I heaved a deep breath and sum up the courage to speak. ”Mia is my mate.” I announced. ”And?” He asked, not sounding surprised.
Curious, I opened my eyes and held his gaze. ”You knew?” I asked.
”Of course, I see visions, have you forgotten.” He responded with a scoff, ”And you didn’t say anything about it?” I asked, ”And why should I?” He asked with raised eyebrows. ” I also knew what the seer said to you the day we went to see her…” He tried speaking, but I cut him off, ”Did you also know she lied?” I asked, ”She lied?” He asked confused, proving he didn’t know about it.
”Yeah.” I sighed and rested my head on the head rest of the couch. ”She lied about my mother’s death. A long-time illness killed my mother. My dad and Mia’s mother were never her killers.” I announced. ”What?” He blurted out, shocked. ”Why would she lie about such a big thing?” Jayson asked, and I explained everything uncle Stephen told me to him, and he quietly listened.
”Lord Philip was also here a moment ago.” I added.
”Lord Philip?” He asked to be certain he heard me right.
”Yes, lord Philip, and it turns out he might be Mia’s father.” I murmured. ”What are you saying?” Jayson asked with a scoff. With a heavy sigh, I opened my eyes and met his stunned but confused gaze as he waited for me to explain everything to him, which I did.
”This is unbelievable.” He murmured while I stood at my feet and began roaming around the sitting room with so many thoughts buzzing in my head. There was every possibility that Mia was never my sister and the thought of that was supposed to make me pleased, but I knew that wouldn’t change a thing for Mia. ”You have to go have a word with her.” Jayson suggested, while I heaved a deep sigh and stood before him.
”She hates me.” I murmured, hurt. ”I know, but you still need to have that conversation with her.” He suggested, while I didn’t say a Word, ”And you need to have it now.” He pleaded, while I nodded my head and teleported away.
I appeared in Mia’s room and saw that the room was empty, but the tap was running heavily in the bathroom. With a gulp, I sat on the couch and anxiously waited for her.
”What are you going to say?” My wolf asked, while I didn’t give him a response. I was anxious, scared, and worried.
The tap stopped running and within a minute, the bathroom door opened and Mia walked in with a towel wrapped around her chest. Her blonde hair was soaked with water and her body had no bruises. We held gaze and I noticed she wasn’t surprised to see me in her room. Ignoring me, she walked to her dressing mirror, sat behind the mirror and put on the hair dryer. I watched her dry her hair with the dryer, totally ignoring my presence.
After drying her hair, she combed her hair, packed it in a bun, applied face cream on her face before standing to her feet. I watched her take out some strands of her hair from her hairbrush and walked up to me. ”I believe you would need this.” She said, gesturing me to take the strands of hair from her, which I couldn’t.
”Take it.” She demanded and forcefully took my hand and placed it into my left palm. ”I expect the results to be out very soon.” She spoke and tried walking away, but I held her grip and stood to my feet.
She stared at my grip on her wrist before holding my gaze. ”And what is the meaning of this?” She asked, angered and irritated.
”I’m sorry!” I blurted out in panic.
