“Audrey? Audrey” Audrey felt someone patting her arm.
“Yes, I’m up, I’m up.” She said groggily.
“Same dream again?” Ms. Bridget asked.
Audrey smiled, having a sense of deja vu to this scene.
“No,” She smiled at Ms. Bridget.
“I’m passed that level now.” She informed her.
“Then, you must know where your amulet is?” Ms Bridget asked.
“Not exactly, but I know who is in possession of it. That reminds me.” She perked up on the bed.
“Yes?”
“Anyone occupying my old room?” She asked, hoping it wasn’t the answer she already knew.
“Yes, he had asked all your things be packed and burnt, but,” Ms. Bridget paused and walked into a door beside her wardrobe.
Audrey never knew such door existed.
“But what, Mama?” Audrey asked.
She prayed she gave her a positive reply this time, if not, her chances of knowing what was written on that bracelet were very slim, if not nonexistent.
“I had them all brought here, they were not much, so they fit into my tiny storage room. I think this is what you’re looking for.” Ms. Bridget emerged from the tiny room, holding a small wooden box in her hand.
Audrey could not believe her eyes. How did she know what she was looking for?
“Before you think I’m some kind of psychic; no. I just heard you mutter something about a gold bracelet and I immediately knew it was this one. It’s the only valuable thing you had after the amulet.” She gently placed the box in Audrey hand.
Immediately it touched Audrey’s hand, memories of how she had angrily took the bracelet off her wrist and threw it inside the box Andrew had made for her, it was meant for her amulet, but since she no longer had it, she had locked it in the box and threw it under her bed.
“Woah, you’re the best, Mama.” She knelt on the bed and hugged Ms. Bridget.
“You were so angry at him that day, but you still couldn’t bring yourself to discard his gift to you. Neither could he.” Ms. Bridget said.
“Well, let’s hope he really couldn’t discard it, cause I’ll burn him alive if he did.” Audrey said seriously.
“Come on, open it.” Ms. Bridget said, smiling.
She ignored what Audrey had said, because, she knew neither of them would be able kill eachother.
“Fine! you’re more excited than I am.” Audrey pouted.
She waved her palm over the box and it magically unlocked, she gently took out the gold bracelet. It was a hundred percent gold and still maintained it’s sheen.
She wondered why the Alpha would gift a little girl such an expensive gift. She definitely didn’t know the value of the gift back then.
She curiously turned it over to see what had been engraved in it, she’s been dying to know since her vision.
It was just a simple word. A simple word that left her heart beating the fastest it has ever beaten. It left Avery in shock too. And, for the first time since last night, she felt Avery move inside her head.
“What does this mean, Mama?” Audrey asked.
“I’m not the right person to ask, child. I wasn’t in his mind when he chose the gift for you, but, one thing is obvious, and he stated it in his gift.” Audrey stared at the word Mate that was boldly engraved on the gold bracelet. She didn’t know what to make of it.
Had he known since then that she was his mate? If yes, then, why did he go ahead and treat her the way he did?
Audrey was puzzled, and a small part of her was excited.
But she immediately killed her excitement. This only goes to she how evil and wicked he was.
She believed him one hundred percent now, he really did not want her as a mate, wether she had a wolf or not.
Her determination was more than solid now. She would find her amulet before the next full moon and be out of here, she knew she wouldn’t be able to control Avery by then.
“Come, I’ll help you fix it.” Ms. Bridget had already locked the bracelet around her wrist before she could resist.
“Why Mama?!” Audrey asked.
She didn’t want to have anything on her that was related to that devil.
“Take it easy child, and trust your instincts. Do not fight it, I promise you; everything will end soon. I believe in you. In both of you.” Ms. Bridget patted Audrey’s hands.
Audrey almost rolled her eyes to her last words.
“But, I’m not Audrey… for now, he would suspect that…”
“Shush now, Audrey. You talk a lot.” She flicked her finger on Audrey’s forehead.
“Ouch, Mama. It hurts.” Audrey complained.
“Good, it will hurt more if you ever take this off; I’m not referring to physical pain, wear it, and find out the answers for yourself.”
Alpha Lake woke up to an empty bed.
He thought Catherine(Audrey) had gone to make food, but her scent wasn’t fresh in the house, she’s been gone for hours.
He wondered if she had gone swimming like the last time, thinking about it left his morning wood harder.
He quickly unclothed himself and went into his bathroom, turning on the cold water to erase his early morning lust.
But, it only seemed to get worse as images of her breast flashed in his mind, even though she had tried covering it with her slim hands, he still saw how juicy and bouncy it was as it spilled from the corners of her hand.
He gripped his hardness and started massaging it rapidly. He was lost, and lust; he knew he had to do something about her before it became dangerous.
He groaned as he went faster with his hands, thinking about their time in the kitchen, on her bed, and imagination of how she would kneel in front of him, taking him all in. It drove him and his wolf crazy.
His movements became sloppy and faster as he neared his peak.
“Fuck-Audrey! Ah! Shit!” He groaned loudly as he finished off. He didn’t care if she heard him, in fact, he wanted her to hear him.
He made up up his mind to make her beg for him before full moon, by then, he would have had his full with her and he would have made his mind up on his mind on how he wanted to go about their ever growing mate-bond.
“Damn it!” He cursed out when he realised the name he had called during his intense release.
This was the most confusing state of his life. How could his brain be this treacherous?
After dressing in his black joggers and a black tank top, he paired it up with a black Nike shoe.
Today was training, and they had missed a training session last week because of Catherine(Audrey), but, now, she knew they were wolves, there was no longer need to hide their activities from her.
His stomach growled angrily as he went downstairs, expecting to see a scrumptious meal on the dining table, instead, he saw something else, something completely inedible and annoying.
His contract with Audrey was comfortably lying on the dining table, with a written note by the side.
“Let’s keep to the rules sir. Last night was a mistake, I admit I got carried away and i promise it will never happen again until my period here is over. Rules are rules.” He smiled bitterly to himself, this was his second time feeling rejected by her.
The letter and the contract, laid there like they were mocking him. He felt like he’s just been discarded after a one-night stand.
He was angry. That was given. But he wasn’t angry at any of his actions, he didn’t regret them.
He was angry at her for assuming that she was the one who got carried away. It was him! Damn it!
Didn’t she understand? Why was she trying to get them back to nothing again?
He had thought that after last night, they had a silent mutual understanding that this damned contract wasn’t valid anymore; or, was she angry about something, she sure did act weird at some point yesterday night.
He hoped it was the latter, if it was, he could easily sway her back to him, but, if it wasn’t, then, that means she was really done with him.
He won’t allow it. Impossible. She was his. His.
He ran out of the house and went in search of Audrey.
Her scent led him down to the Pack’s kitchen. He paused when he reached it, he stood beside the door and watched her, and he immediately disapproved of what she was wearing.
Her oversized white t-shirt left her sexy straight legs on display, and he could see the hungry eyes of the horny wolves glued on her.
He wanted to match up to her and demand she go get changed, but, he remembered he was back to being just her boss.
