The TEG crisis PR response immediately kicked in as Rosiley’s popularity rose.
First, the company released a public statement of apology stating that they would look into the unjust treatment that Rosiley had to endure at the company and ensure that justice was served.
Second, the company also publicly stood by Rosiley and stated that they wouldn’t be so dismissive of an excellent employee. They would also strictly ensure that the company policies are applied to Rorey’s case and stated that they would not give her any extra perks.
Many netizens slammed TEG for their retrospective approach to try to repair their tarnished image. It was a pity that a well-established firm had landed itself in such hot water because of Rorey.
Many netizens clamored for TEG to issue a public apology to Rosiley because they felt aggrieved that the company had tried to sweep this under the rug with a few words and that this petite and beautiful woman had to put up with such terrible treatment.
TEG had no choice but to promise that they would ensure that proper justice was meted out.
Lina summoned Rosiley to her office to have a private conversion, just as everyone was kept incredibly busy because of this debacle.
Lina saw Rosiley in a different light after everything that had happened, and there was an odd look in her eye as she said, “Your tactic of resorting to such drastic measures was rather harsh.”
“Are you trying to praise me?” Rosiley asked with a smile as she blinked up at her manager.
Lina’s lips curved into a smile as she said, “I guess so. Although you caused quite a bit of trouble for us, I think you’ve done pretty well. I like people who are smart, and you’re one of the rare smart cookies around. Rorey isn’t a match for you at all.”
“Special circumstances call for special tactics. I don’t want to become someone who is constantly trodden on for the rest of my life,” she replied.
Rosiley suddenly looked at Lina with a newfound admiration, so she talked to her manager as though they were equals.
Lina wasn’t too bothered by Rosiley’s change in tone. She studied Rosiley quietly for a brief moment before she nodded and said, “I must say that we’re rather similar. We are both eager to excel but I think you’re bolder than I am, for I might not have done what you just did if our roles were reversed.”
“That might not necessarily be true. We’ll do anything it takes when backed into a corner,” Rosiley said noncommittally.
She didn’t tell Lina that the reason why she had dared to step out so boldly was that she knew Sachin had her back.
Although she didn’t want to rely on him, she had gradually gotten used to him being her pillar of support, and this was what gave her the courage to pursue action against TEG.
Lina didn’t pursue it any further. They chatted for a while before Lina got straight to the point and said, “I’ve asked you to see me because I’d like to communicate two things to you. First, you’ve been promoted to Deputy Manager. Second, on behalf of the firm, I’d like to ask if you’re willing to post a public statement on Weibo stating that you’ve decided to forgive us?”
Rosiley arched a brow and thought, “What is the firm trying to do? Are they trying to take advantage of me after giving me a small promotion?”
“I don’t think the firm would insist that you make such a public statement even if you refuse, because they were at fault this time,” Lina added when Rosiley didn’t respond.
She tacked on that line because she assumed that Rosiley was reluctant to agree.
“Frankly, I’m fine to make such a statement because I don’t intend to leave TEG at the moment, so there’s no need to burn bridges,” Rosiley said and implied that she would agree.
Lina couldn’t help nodding approvingly.
She was impressed that Rosiley knew when to strike and when to back down. This was truly a woman worthy of admiration.
Rosiley acted swiftly. After the firm issued a public statement of apology, she immediately posted on Weibo and expressed that she was willing to reconcile with TEG. After all, she had been with the firm for two years, so she felt a certain kinship with them. More importantly, she was also very grateful to Lina for grooming her and guiding her to become the reporter she was today.
Then, she publicly turned down REG’s offer and expressed her appreciation for their offer.
