Chapter 1374 : The Trouble with the Trouble

Book:Mr Grant, Please Be Gentle Published:2024-5-29

Blanca Roach looked back at Rutledge, trying to get a hint of flirtation out of his face so she could logically scold him back.
Unfortunately, there was none.
Rutledge’s mouth was still smiling, but his eyes didn’t look like they were faking.
The place where their skin met became hot, and Blanca Roach didn’t hesitate for a moment to shake his hand away.
“Boss Rutledge, please be careful what you say.”
Blanca Roach shouted sternly.
She was Matthew Grant’s wife, and what did Rutledge mean by that, that he wanted to humiliate her?
She took a few steps forward and before she left, she couldn’t help but turn to Rutledge and say.
“Rutledge boss, I think you are misunderstood, I am not the kind of person you say, Matthew and I also have a very good relationship, you gave me the photos, I am very grateful, if you want money, I can give, but advise Rutledge boss or do not think more.”
Rutledge’s posture remained unchanged, as if he was contemplating her words.
Blanca Roach finished and left, ignoring what he would say in response.
No matter what his mindset was, whether he was testing or flirting, she wouldn’t look at anyone else since she already had Matthew.
Besides, Rutledge’s action was inexplicable. It was only the second time they had met, so was it really normal to say such things?
Blanca Roach made up her mind that she would never meet Rutledge alone again, and that she would talk to Matthew about the ruined photos tonight, and about what Rutledge had said to her …
Since it is not true, there is no need to say it to make Matthew angry.
When Blanca Roach returned, Alice was already asleep.
She tiptoed into the children’s room, where her daughter was sleeping soundly in her crib.
Blanca Roach kissed her cheeks and tucked her in before gently closing the door behind her and heading out.
The light in the study was still on, so I didn’t have to think that Matthew Grant must still be working at this hour.
She went downstairs to the kitchen to make a glass of milk and brought it to Matthew Grant.
“Matthew, are you still awake?”
Matthew Grant saw it was Blanca Roach, relaxed, pinched the bridge of his nose, and said to her.
“Well, the company’s been a little busy lately, so how’s it going? Did you have fun tonight?”
Blanca Roach put the milk on the table and went up to him heartily and rubbed his temples.
“Pretty good, Elizabeth and Peter Murray are getting a lot closer, probably going to get to have a wedding drink with the two of them soon.”
Blanca Roach lowered her eyelashes and paused for a moment before continuing.
“Matthew, I ran into Rutledge on my way back this evening.”
Her massage was good, with just the right amount of force to make Gu Ting close his eyes, except when he heard Rutledge’s name from Blanca Roach’s mouth, the nerves inside his head inexplicably tensed a little.
Matthew Grant squeezed Blanca Roach’s hand with one hand, the bruises on his bony fingers showing.
With his manly instincts, he had a feeling that Rutledge had something against Blanca.
“And?”
Blanca Roach told him what had happened, only selectively omitting the part where Rutledge said it later.
Matthew Grant listened with a raised eyebrow, followed by a moment of silence.
It was only when Blanca Roach thought he had fallen asleep and was about to get up to put the bath water on him that Matthew Grant pulled her into his lap and sat her down.
He stroked Blanca Roach’s shoulder-length hair once and for all and whispered.
“Blanca, would you betray me?”
Blanca Roach’s heart skipped a beat, and she hated to hear Matthew Grant have any doubts about her.
She patted his chest gently with her hand.
“What nonsense.”
She was not someone who saw things differently, in Blanca Roach’s mind, no matter who it was, it was not a reason for someone to betray their marriage, she loved Matthew Grant, and that was something that would never change.
What’s more, now that they have Alice, it’s impossible to talk about betrayal.
Matthew Grant’s eyes were deep, and Blanca Roach took his face in hers and returned the same serious tone.
“Never, unless you don’t love me anymore.”
