Julia Jewelry Company.
The receptionist smiled and looked at the four people across the table, and said in a polite tone.
“Sorry President Grant, our general manager is not in the company, and since you don’t have an appointment, even if you wait here for as long as you want, you won’t be able to see our general manager.”
“Your general manager has quite a big face.”
Curtis Irwin propped one hand on the receptionist’s desk, took out his phone and clicked on a video, lowering his voice.
“This is the video of your company’s entrance surveillance at 9:00 a. m. Your manager went in and didn’t come out again, how about it?”
“This gentleman our company’s monitoring how do you have it?”
The receptionist’s gaze flashed, pretending as if nothing had happened hooked the corners of his mouth, coughed and insisted.
“Guys, just don’t give me a small employee a hard time, our manager really isn’t in the company, please go back.”
“Really not in?”
Curtis Irwin raised his eyebrows and directly clicked on the software, which had real-time monitoring of the office.
“Could it be that this one sitting in the office is not your boss? Or is it a fake sitting in the office?”
“This …” the receptionist blushed, her hand clasped the edge of the table underneath and changed the subject: “If you spy on our company like this, we can call the police and say you’re snooping on trade secrets!”
“It’s not clear who the plaintiff is.”
Curtis Irwin was about to say something else, but was interrupted by Matthew Grant’s gesture to put away his phone and stand back up.
“Inform your boss that someone is going up to talk to him and tell him to wait in his office.”
After saying that, Matthew Grant turned around and walked upstairs, without leaving the receptionist any extra eyes, with a domineering aura that could not be questioned.
The office is on the top floor of the company, and it has attracted a lot of sideways glances from the employees along the way.
Matthew Grant’s eyes were stern as he pushed open the office door and walked in, looking at the person behind the desk with a sarcastic tone.
“President Oakes is quite a big deal.”
“No, no.”
Oakes smiled dryly, calculating hidden under his eyes, leaning back in his chair, not at all nervous.
“Our company sells jewelry, it doesn’t match your business, so there’s no need to be like everyone else.”
“Selling jewelry? How do I hear that it is stolen?”
Matthew Grant sneered, sitting on the couch across from him and dusting off his cuffs with his hands.
“President Oakes, would you say?”
“President Grant that’s just a joke, we’ll just hear it.” Oakes’ face grew cold and he sat upright, “If you’re serious, you can’t say this nonsense, you have to have evidence.”
Isabel had been standing at the doorway and knew she couldn’t interrupt, so she kept her head down and didn’t say anything.
It was just that she thought this President Oakes’ voice sounded familiar, very much like someone she had seen before.
She quietly glanced up to the side of the desk, only to meet his eyes.
“Isabel?” Oakes deliberately showed a smile, but did not look so surprised, “remember me? I was often a guest at your house before.”
Isabel’s heart skipped a beat, a coldness rose from her back, and she could only speak stiffly.
“Remember, Uncle Oakes well, how do you …”
“Just remember, let’s go out for dinner tonight and renew the old days properly.”
Oakes smiled at Isabel’s face, narrowed his eyes, could see the refusal on her face, and sighed.
“If you don’t want to forget it, wait a few days, I’ll go abroad to catch up with your parents.”
