Blanca Roach’s hands were twisted around the sheets, her brow furrowed and somewhat distracted.
“That’s right, got it, you get some rest.”
“Well, you have to rest too, Alice is very good, don’t worry.”
“Thank you, Selina.”
Several minutes after the phone hung up, she still hadn’t reacted, her eyes staring at the snowy white wall across the room and letting go.
What had happened to make Matthew Grant return home in such a hurry, and to hide it from her and Selina.
Could it be that it had something to do with Lucy?
The hospital was quiet, and Blanca Roach slept lightly, barely getting a few hours of sleep by dawn, with all these things on her mind.
“Awake?” Matthew Grant came in through the doorway carrying a small bag of medication, “I’m done with the paperwork, let’s go back to the hotel for breakfast.”
“Well, it just so happens that Alice might be looking for me in the morning.”
Blanca Roach rubbed her eyes, changed her clothes in two tries, and followed Matthew Grant, all the time wanting to say something.
She wanted to ask what had happened yesterday, but didn’t know how to say it.
“Why did we have to go through the back door?” She scanned the surrounding area, which seemed more isolated than earlier, “Can’t the car park at the front door?”
“There are fewer people at the back door and it’s easier to get to the hotel.”
Matthew Grant’s tone was quiet, and he untraceably swept her into his arms and squeezed her shoulders.
“Don’t worry, I booked tickets for this morning and Selina and the others will be coming back with us.”
“Hmm.”
Blanca Roach nodded, but still couldn’t suppress the doubts in her heart.
As soon as the car pulled up to the hotel entrance, she saw Selina standing in the doorway and was waving her hand in her direction.
“The luggage is all packed, just waiting for you and President Grant to come back.”
“What a bother Selina,” Blanca Roach pulled the corner of her mouth and smoothly took her hand, lowering her voice when no one was around, “Did Charles White tell you why he was going back? ”
“This … is not clear, anyway, is quite anxious.”
Selina shook her head and looked into the hotel when she happened to meet Charles White’s gaze, and her heart shook and her whole body panicked.
She averted her gaze, moved to the side, and cleared her throat.
“But I think I saw the head of the hotel and conference come over this morning to apologize, as if to say something about negligence, reporters or something.”
A reporter?
Blanca Roach’s hand tightened violently, and in this heat, she actually felt the coolness rising from her back.
It should have something to do with Lucy, who knows what she would do in a place like this abroad.
It was okay for her, but it was mostly Alice.
“What’s wrong?” Matthew Grant pushed the stroller, and the packed food to her side, “The plane is in a hurry, Blanca you can eat something on the way.”
“Okay, let’s get going.”
Blanca Roach looked at the little person who was playing happily with herself in the stroller and went straight to the prepared car.
Whether she guessed the situation or not, since Matthew Grant had arranged to leave in such a hurry, something bad must have happened and Alice could not be exposed to unknown dangers as well.
She just didn’t know if it was her hallucination, she felt as if something was watching them secretly.
Lucy hid behind a sign at the airport, wearing her prepared work clothes, staring at those four people with deadly jealousy and viciousness in her eyes.
In the future, she will not let Blanca Roach go, she is the only one who loves Matthew Grant the most.
