Chapter 105
The stalker.
Kayla’s POV:
“Hands in the air!” The detective ordered him.
My stalker tried to run, but he could not as he was surrounded by armed men.
“Finally!” I muttered as tears dropped from my eye.
“I can now live in peace as I spend my time in jail!” I said out loud as it caught the attention of detective James.
“Yes! We are bent on making the prison a safe space for people to stay!” He told me.
“I will make sure that he speaks, and we settled if he is working on his Accord or for someone!” Detective James told me, and I smiled in triumph.
I was back to my prison room, when I heard detective James screamed out loud.
“How the hell do you tell me that Megan is the mastermind behind this?” I heard detective James say.
“You mean, she wants to see Kayla dead?” He asked him.
As soon as I heard those lines, I knew that the deed has been done and the time is now.
“I have finally succeeded in pulling Megan into this prison.” I said with a smirk on my face.
“I have never been this happy my whole life!” I told myself.
“I guess life wanted me to be here, so that I will carefully plan out my revenge on her!” I thought happily.
In no time, detective James asked that I be brought in for questioning too.
“What is going on?” He asked me.
“Have you gotten the information that you need?” I asked him as he looked at me disappointed.
“The suspect said that he was working based on Megan’s report!” He told me.
“But we will have to do a lot of questioning before we can conclude that she is really the culprit!” He revealed.
“Why should you be going through all of that, when you already have the answer to your questions?” I asked him.
“If I were you, I will just bring in Megan and sentence her to jail!” I said rolling my eyes.
“No, no!” Detective James told me.
“That is not how the law works!” He chided me.
“I know that you may not like Megan, but that does not mean that you dictate how the law will work!” He said.
“Okay!” I rolled my eyes.
“But you all better be fast, before I lose my life in this place!” I told him.
“We have got you covered, Kayla!” He told me.
“Nothing and no one will be able to harm you here!” He assured me and I was led back to my cell room.
Immediately, I sat on the bed, I began smiling to myself.
“They all think that they are wiser, but once I am done with you all… you would not be able to catch me!” I said.
“I will be as the air that you would not be able to lay hold of me!” I told myself and laughed hysterically.
It is time I plan for my escape well, since they are all busy now.
Planning my escape has been smoothly going ever since the arrest of my stalker, who is just an accomplice.
Detective James has been busy trying to get ways to bring Megan in, but he can’t because he feels he does not have enough evidence, but he believes everything the stalker said… so I think I am fine.
But on another hand, I can’t believe it! He has no idea what’s going on. Detective James thinks he’s so smart, but I’m the one who’s been playing him all along. And now, he’s finally fallen for my trap.
I’m finally going to be able to escape! I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long, and it’s finally here. I can’t wait to leave this all behind and start fresh. I’ll be able to live my life happily without any police to boss me around.
I’m so excited! I just need to play it cool for a little while longer, until the perfect moment to make my move. And then, I will be gone.
I will be free. I can’t wait to feel the sun on my face and the wind in my hair, to know that I am finally safe. I am going to do it, I’m going to escape and start my new life. Yes, I can do this! I’m so ready!
I will not even bother to take anything along and slip away, unnoticed. I wil leave behind this prison and start anew. Anew home and a new life. I will be free to be me, without fear of judgment or rejection. I’ll be able to breathe again, to live again.
I can’t wait to feel the rush of adrenaline as I make my escape. I can’t wait to feel the thrill of freedom as I start my new life. I can’t wait to leave this all behind and start fresh. I’m ready, I’m ready, I’m ready!
“I am so close to freedom,” I whisper to myself, my eyes closed as I imagine the world outside these walls.
“You can almost taste it. No more locked doors, no more constant surveillance, no more living in fear.” I said.
“I know, I know, it’s scary to think about leaving,” I respond, my voice barely above a whisper.
“But think about all the amazing things you’ll get to experience. The sunshine on your face, the wind in your hair, the sound of birds singing in the trees. You’ll be able to walk down the street without being watched, to go to the grocery store without being followed, to live a normal life.” I told myself.
“But what if something goes wrong?” I ask myself, my mind racing with worst-case scenarios. “What if I can’t make it on my own? What if I fail?” I was starting to get scared.
“You’ll figure it out,” I reassure myself.
“You’re strong, Kayla. You’ve survived this long, haven’t you? And think about all the people out there who care about you, who want to help you. You won’t be alone.” I thought.
“I know, I know,” I sigh, my eyes opening as I gaze around my small room.
It’s just hard to believe that there’s a whole world out there, waiting for me. A world that’s full of possibilities, full of hope.
“It’s true, Kayla,” I whisper, my voice firm. “And you deserve to experience it. You deserve to be free, to be happy, to be you.” I said.
I take a deep breath, my heart racing with excitement.
“I’m going to do it,” I tell myself.
“I’m going to escape, and I’m going to make a new life for myself. I’m going to find a place where I can be safe, where I can be me.” I thought.
The thought sends a thrill through me, and I can’t help but smile.
“I’m going to be okay,” I whisper, my eyes closing as I imagine the amazing things to come.
“I’m going to be free, and I’m going to be happy.” I concluded.
