Peter Murray tapped his hand on the table and changed his tone of voice and asked.
“Is it true that she’s not here?”
“Didn’t President Murray see it all? We’re the only two people in the office.”
“But the office isn’t the only room either.”
He said, his eyes skimming the door of the adjacent lounge, his eyes hiding his determination to win.
Blanca Roach stirred the coffee in front of her, not a trace of panic at being seen, but the tone of her voice became more and more calm.
“Peter Murray, I advise you a word of advice ah, sometimes the heart can not eat hot tofu, or slowly.”
“President Roach is the default?”
“I don’t know anything, it’s all in your own understanding, now it’s not a question of whether you can find it or not, it’s a question of whether someone is willing.”
This statement made Peter Murray’s face grimmer a bit and withdrew his gaze which was placed on that door.
He smiled faintly and spoke softly.
“Or President Roach is right, the person is probably not here, I’ll leave now, we’ll get together again sometime.”
“Take care.”
Blanca Roach watched the office door close before she let out a deep sigh of relief.
She thought to herself, “How come this chore always falls on her, and she has to find a way to coax people away without offending them.
It’s really too difficult …
“Is he gone?”
Elizabeth Harris poked a head out of the break room and looked at the office to see that there was no one else before she walked out.
“I didn’t think you’d learn to talk in mysterious ways now, saying half and leaving half.”
“It’s not all about you.” Blanca Roach glanced at her, her tone helpless, “If I didn’t say so, he might have gone to the lounge and pulled you out.”
“He’d dare! If he dares to confront me face to face, I’ll make sure he knows what I’m capable of and won’t dare to pester me again.”
“Good, you’re right, Missy.”
These two were clearly just a couple of youngsters gagging, nothing serious at all, just waiting for a chance to pull in their feelings.
Blanca Roach could only respond to her words twice, raising her eyes to look at Elizabeth Harris.
“Tell me, now that the people are gone, what are you going to do, are you going to stay with me?”
“No, I have to go to the office, if not to avoid people, I would not have come to you, I am leaving.”
I’m leaving.” She left the door with her mouth full, the sound of her high heels fading away.
Blanca Roach sighed at the empty office and went back to looking through the files in her mailbox.
She had come late this morning, so she had met with a few unrelated people, taken a list that was clearly meant to be difficult for her, and helped a young couple make peace.
Before she could read a few documents, the phone next to her rang.
She answered the phone, leaned back in her chair and waited for the person over there to speak first, without guessing who the caller was.
“Blanca, why aren’t you talking?”
“I’m waiting for you to speak.” The corner of Blanca Roach’s mouth couldn’t help but curl up and spill out, “I don’t want to talk, I’ve said so much this morning.”
Matthew Grant laughed softly, his voice low.
“Looks like your ladyship has had a busy morning of business, she needs a treat after work.”
“Well, it was a lot of work.”
After saying that, the two were silent for a moment before Blanca Roach realized how Matthew Grant could be calling at this time and asked out loud.
“Why are you calling me at this time? Is there something wrong?”
“Well, I’ll pick you up after work, Grandpa wants to go back to the old house for dinner, so make sure you finish work early.”
“Got it, I’ll wait for you at the office.”
Although her mouth promised to be quick, she frowned tightly, and impatience was hidden under her eyes.
Shelly just came over this morning, and she wants to go to the old house for dinner in the evening, I’m afraid it’s not simple …
