I knew I was ready to fully mate with Marcus. I was just scared. I still have nightmares to get over, but I know with Marcus I will be able to get over them eventually.
With that thought, I drifted off to sleep with a smile on my face.
The next two days went by in a blur. We were getting the last-minute touches done for the Luna ceremony. Marcus and Clover’s parents stayed around to help with the preparations since Clover and Bryan were occupied with the baby.
I am sitting in the living room holding baby Luka while Clover took a shower. I knew she would be fast because she hated being away from him for too long. We all have been soaking up the time with the little one. He was the cutest thing even though he was just 2 days old.
I was rocking Luka when I looked up after feeling eyes on me. Marcus was standing there looking at me with an emotion I couldn’t decipher. I smiled up at him before looking back at Luka. He started to stir awake and cry. Clover walked into the room as if she knew he was about to cry.
I just had a feeling. It is about time for him to be fed. Clover came and picked up Luka and took him away to feed him. Marcus came over and pulled me into a hug.
I can’t wait to see you with our kids one day, he whispered to me before kissing the top of my head. I smiled up at him and gave him a quick kiss. I can’t wait either, I excused myself and went to the restroom. I was struggling to keep it together.
I honestly wasn’t sure I would be able to have kids after what happened to me. I knew I would need to talk to Dr. Lacy soon. Maybe after the Luna ceremony I could go and talk with her. I hurried in the bathroom and walked back out. It was now lunchtime.
The chefs fixed a light lunch for everyone because there would be a feast tonight after the ceremony. I was a nervous wreck, but I kept it together. After eating lunch, I was pulled away by Marissa and Polly. They were going to help me get ready for tonight.
We got to my room before they pushed me into the bathroom to take a shower. I took my time making sure I scrubbed everything away. Once I got out of the shower, I wrapped myself in a towel and exited the bathroom. The girls had the vanity set with all the hair tools and makeup they needed.
Come sit and we will get started, Marissa was excited to get started. It was customary for the previous Luna to help the new one get ready. I laughed and sat in the chair.
My hair was blow-dried first before Marissa started to curl it. Polly started on my makeup after my hair was dry. Am I supposed to be this nervous ? I felt like I was going to be sick any minute.
Don’t worry sweetie. Most Lunas are nervous about their ceremony. I was a wreck for mine. I almost ran away before Alex’s mom talked some sense into me. Marissa gave my shoulder a light squeeze before going back to my hair.
There was a knock on the door before Clover came in with Luka. Hey, sorry I am late. I tried to get him to take a nap, but he refused.
Marissa gestured for Clover to take over doing my hair and took Luka from her. She went over to the couch and sat down with him. Clover came and started to curl the rest of my hair.
I couldn’t tell what Clover was doing, but I trusted they would make me look great. Polly was really concentrating on doing my makeup. Every now and then she would stick her tongue out a little, which caused me to start laughing.
I sat there for a while until Clover and Polly were done. I wasn’t going to get dressed yet because I still had a little while before everything started. I went to sit on the couch next to Marissa. She had gotten Luka to sleep and had sat him in his bouncer chair.
So, what can I expect for tonight, I asked trying to distract myself. I won’t say, but just follow what feels right. When Marcus asks the question, all you have to do is answer yes. Marissa said smiling at me.
I realized Willow had been quiet all day. Are you nervous like I am ? I felt Willow stir before answering. I am excited but nervous. I know the pack respects us and likes us, but I still can’t help the thought they won’t accept us. I knew I was nervous about that too, but I knew it wouldn’t happen.
Alright come on mom, Clover pulled me from my thoughts. Marissa reluctantly sat in the chair and let the girls get her ready. I knew I wouldn’t be much help, so I sat and watched them.
They all looked great by the time they all got done. I wanted to see what I looked like, but the girls wanted me to wait until I was fully dressed.
Marissa left the room and came back with four different dress bags. She handed each of us one, and Polly went to change first. They said I had to go last. She came out in a silvery grey dress. It came to just above her knees and had long sleeves. She looked great with her hair straight and light makeup.
Clover was next to change. She came out in a forest green dress that went to the floor. It was flowy throughout the dress except for the top. It was straight across with little straps around her arms. She looked amazing. Clover had pulled her hair back into a cute bun with a few pieces pulled out to frame her face. Her makeup was a little more heavy to try and head the dark circles under her eyes.
Marissa was next. She had on a light blue dress. This signified she was no longer the Luna and that someone was stepping forward to take over as the new Luna. It was a form-fitting dress that went to the floor. It had a short sleeve and a delicate lace design on the top half. It looked beautiful on her.
Wow, I don’t know how I am going to top all of you guys. You all look absolutely gorgeous. I said with a light laugh. Don’t be silly dear. You will look great. Marissa reassured me before pushing me into the bathroom.
I opened the bag and was already shocked at the dress. It was beautiful and it was still on the hanger. I quickly discarded my robe before stepping into the dress. The zipper was on the side, so it was easy for me to get it on myself. I promised I wouldn’t look in the mirror until I came out. It was so hard to not look.
I made my way out of the bathroom to show the girls. They all gasped when they saw me. I was nervous about what I looked like. What do you think ? I asked trying to calm myself down. You look gorgeous Maddy, Clover said while coming and hugging me. I agree you look beautiful, and Marcus isn’t going to know what to do when he sees you, Polly said hugging me next.
Marissa came and hugged me next, You look amazing sweet heart. I know if your parents were here, they would be so proud of you. I got choked up at her words. It took a lot for me not to cry right then.
Mom, stop it before you make all of us ruin our makeup, Clover said while Marissa pulled away. I looked and noticed everyone had tears in their eyes from Marissa’s words.
Can I look now ? I asked wanting to see what I looked like. The girls nodded before pulling me over to the mirror. I gasped not believing the person in the mirror is me. My hair was curled with a braid down the back to pull the front away from my face. My makeup was amazing. My eyes popped with the smokey-eye look Polly gave me. My lipstick was nude which complemented the eyeshadow perfectly.
The dress was breathtaking. The top had thin straps and a plunging neckline that showed off my chest. It was tight at the top and flowed out once it hit my hips. There was a high slit that came to my mid-thigh. It was a beautiful royal blue to show I was the next Luna for the Blue Moon Pack. Polly handed me some nude heels to wear with it. They paired well with the dress.
