“Listening to you, it feels like I’m in a hearing.” He shook his head. “Alright, I’ll have the team investigate what happened.” He put away the folder. “It seems you didn’t like what Sena did.”
Lamech’s eyes narrowed at this remark. “I can’t tolerate such behavior,” he said.
“If it were any other man in your position, they wouldn’t have reported it.”
He smirked and remained silent. Noticing that Eman was about to get busy, he excused himself. He didn’t want to disturb him. He was surprised to see Sena leaning against the wall opposite the door as he stepped out. Their eyes met, and he was the first to look away and walk off.
But he hadn’t gone far when he saw a familiar woman at the end of the hallway. She was wearing a red dress and had a digital camera hanging around her neck. His eyes narrowed as he remembered the woman who took a photo of him and Azora earlier that morning. He couldn’t be mistaken. It was her!
He stopped a few meters from the woman. It seemed she didn’t recognize him because her brows were furrowed as she looked behind him. He glanced back and saw Sena, arms crossed, staring at the approaching woman. It seemed clear to him whom the woman was there to see. He looked at the digital camera hanging around her neck. He needed to get that item.
“Sena!” the woman snapped. “What nonsense are you up to now, huh? I’m working properly, and here you are causing trouble again!” She stood in front of Sena while Lamech stood behind her.
Lamech’s frown deepened. Working properly? He smirked. Does taking unsolicited photos count as proper work?
“Mind your own business,” Sena replied blankly, looking away. “Go back outside. You’re not welcome here. I didn’t call you here anyway.”
“Didn’t call?” The woman laughed mockingly. “Tell that to Doc Hana. She called me a day ago because of your harassment of the male patients here. What’s wrong with you? When will you stop being such a pervert?”
“Pervert?” Sena’s face twisted, and she pointed at Lamech, who froze. “Ask him if I’m a pervert or not!”
Lamech blinked, and before he could respond, the woman turned around and faced him, raising an eyebrow. His frown deepened. Would she recognize him or not?
She looked him up and down before returning her gaze to his face. “Are you a patient here?”
“No,” he replied in a low voice.
The woman scoffed. “Don’t just point at anyone, Sena!” she snapped before turning back to Sena. “Come on, you’ll get in trouble!” she said, pulling Sena away.
Lamech’s eyes narrowed further. He called out, “Stop right there!”
He breathed a sigh of relief when the two stopped. He quickly walked over to them and cleared his throat. “Turn around and face me.”
The two silently complied. Sena pulled her wrist free and crossed her arms, while the woman frowned at him.
“Who do you think you are to order us around?” the woman asked curtly.
He smirked again. “It’s you who followed my command.”
The woman rolled her eyes and tried to pull Sena away again, but he spoke up. “Have you forgotten what you did, lady?” he asked, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
The woman froze and glared at him. “What are you implying, huh?” She squinted and crossed her arms. “That I did something to you?”
“Did I say anything?”
“Let’s go, Sena!” she said, quickly pulling Sena away.
Lamech didn’t stop them. As much as he wanted to confront them about the harassment and the stolen photo, he felt it was more important to check on Azora at that moment.
He quickly walked away and found Hana attending to Azora, who was still unconscious.
“Doc,” he said.
The doctor looked at him and smiled. “I’m glad you’re here.”
He looked at Azora. “She hasn’t regained consciousness yet?”
“Not yet. But she might wake up soon. I’ve asked the cook to prepare some food for her when she does.”
He nodded and sat on the edge of the large bed. He grasped Azora’s hand and held it in his own. He cleared his throat. “Can I ask something?”
“You can,” Hana replied.
“Who’s Sena’s guardian?”
“Sena? Oh!” The doctor laughed bitterly. “I called her guardian, but they haven’t shown up yet.”
“She’s here.”
“Clara?”
He looked at the doctor. “So her name is Clara,” he said, his expression darkening.
The doctor seemed to notice the change in his tone and asked why. He sighed. “If you can arrange for me to talk with her, I would appreciate it.”
“Why do you want to talk with Clara?” the doctor asked, raising an eyebrow.
“She needs to pay her debt.”
“Oh.”
The doctor didn’t ask further. She said she would send Clara to the clinic. He nodded and thanked her. It was in his favor since he didn’t want to see Sena again. He might not be able to control himself and might confront her harshly, which wouldn’t be good for her mental state.
He waited for Clara for a few minutes. He thought she wouldn’t show up, but then he saw her standing a few meters from Azora’s bed. She had a smile on her face, but it slowly faded when she saw him.
“You again?” she asked curtly.
He raised an eyebrow at her remark. “Is that how you apologize?” he asked.
“Apologize?” She crossed her arms. “Why should I?”
He exhaled. He stood up and stepped closer to her. Her eyes widened, and she slowly stepped back. “Don’t move,” he ordered, and she complied.
He stopped a meter from her and extended his hand. “Hand over that camera,” he demanded, pointing at the camera around her neck.
She quickly grabbed the camera. “No. Why should I give it to you?”
“Don’t act like you don’t know.”
“Sure, I know nothing!” she retorted.
His eyebrows furrowed deeply. His patience had run out with women like Clara.
