Blanca Roach followed Matthew Grant out of that place, and only then did she feel relieved.
She straightened her dress and took a glass of orange juice from a side table.
Matthew Grant looked down at Blanca Roach, reached out and smoothed the strands of hair behind her ear, and asked softly.
“Want to go to the social with me?”
“Can I say I don’t want to go? So tired.”
Blanca Roach shook her head and met Matthew Grant’s gaze with a slight pout and a hint of pouting.
Recently, she had been very busy with the new product launch and had to take care of Alice’s 100th birthday party, so she really didn’t have any extra energy to socialize.
Not to mention the fact that there are so many people on the scene, it would be exhausting to entertain them one by one.
Matthew Grant stared at Blanca Roach, there is a place in his heart soft to a mess, thin lips curved an arc out, tone doting.
“If you don’t go, you don’t go. If you’re tired, go upstairs and rest.”
Blanca Roach narrowed her eyes and smiled, took a sip of orange juice, looked sideways from her angle but saw two familiar figures.
But how could they be together?
She curbed her smile and stared in that direction wondering, “Why are the two of them walking together?”
“Hmm?”
Matthew Grant watched Blanca Roach’s face change and followed her gaze over there to see Charles White with a woman by his side.
He narrowed his eyes, raised his glass and gestured at Charles White.
Charles White also raised his glass in response, leaning over to protect the person at his side and slowly moving to them.
Selina was almost embraced by him, the tip of her nose could smell the perfume on him.
This protective solidity and her captivity these days, all the feelings melded and intertwined in the heart, into a feeling that can not say mouth.
She walked over before she saw Blanca Roach, wide-eyed.
“What are you doing here?”
This time out Charles White didn’t even tell her exactly what she was doing here, only that it was for the party.
Blanca Roach was just as surprised, she still remembered Selina as Louise Grant brought her to the atelier to have her jewelry made, and failed to connect her with Charles White at all.
“Miss Selina, you, you guys this is …”
“She’s my date for the evening, Selina.”
Charles White tugged a chair for Selina to help her sit on it, his tone frank and not at all hiding.
He had researched Selina privately and knew that she had previously been friends with Louise Grant and that she had ordered jewelry from Blanca Roach’s studio.
Blanca Roach still found it unbelievable and took a sip of orange juice to calm down her surprise.
“How did you meet?”
“We …” Selina paused and smiled lightly, “we don’t really know each other well.”
Charles White’s drinking motion froze in place, and the emotions under his eyes grew cold.
He had heard Selina say this kind of thing a few times before, and it was clear that Selina’s usual attitude towards him was also this cold.
But when he heard Selina say it so lightly in public, he felt uncomfortable in his heart.
Blanca Roach noticed that the atmosphere seemed a bit awkward and gave a laugh.
“I’m going to hold my studio’s new product launch in a few days, I see you quite liked the jewelry I designed last time, are you interested in coming to participate?”
“Sure.”
Selina nodded, a rare smile stained her face, not to look so lifeless.
Charles White didn’t say no, took a sip of wine and spoke.
“It’s getting late, we should go back.”
