Chapter 486: Surviving by Sacrifice

The solution had been found.
Ten boxes of Break Alliance Pill were delivered to the nearby hospital.
Everyone waited for the results.
Time ticked by slowly.
At 1 a. m., news arrived from the hospital-
The ten patients who took the special medicine showed signs of improvement and had woken up!
Their vital signs were stable.
Break Alliance Pill was effective!
The news spread quickly, filling everyone with excitement.
Reporters left the scene.
Officials from the Medical Department and related agencies went downstairs to calm the public.
Only the Swanson family remained in the conference hall.
Each member looked as if they were mourning; it was destined to be a sleepless night for them.
They felt utterly hopeless about the future.
Braiden could not have imagined things would turn out this way.
He had thought he could once again obliterate the Sharp’s Group, but instead, they had turned the tables on him.
Break Alliance Pill was like a blade that struck directly at the heart of the Swanson’s Group.
They had underestimated their opponent.
They should have suppressed Energence Pharmaceuticals earlier.
Now, the Sharp’s Group had grown into a giant capable of challenging their alliance.
“Xingzhou, what do we do now? We don’t have $30 billion!” an elder of the Swanson family said with a mournful face.
The Swanson’s Group had total liquid assets of only $20 billion. If they used that money, over a dozen of their companies would have to cease production indefinitely.
If that happened, the Swanson’s Group would be doomed forever.
Even if they pooled all their resources, it still wouldn’t amount to $30 billion!
With the Swanson’s Group at the center of a storm, who would dare lend them money?
Pablo rubbed his forehead hard, feeling an intense headache.
He couldn’t come up with $30 billion, but Rose had already made her move. If he didn’t respond, it wouldn’t take government intervention; angry mobs would tear the Swanson family apart themselves.
The Swanson family had no choice but to follow Rose’s lead.
“Get me Rose on the phone,” Pablo said weakly.
Soon, the call connected.
Pablo composed himself and forced a smile:
“Ms. Sharp, your foresight in launching Break Alliance Pill has done a great favor for the Swanson’s Group. The Swanson family will remember this kindness forever.”
“Once this matter is settled, I will definitely express my gratitude.”
Rose chuckled: “Mr. Swanson, you are too kind. The Swanson Pharmaceuticals has developed many special medicines and made significant contributions to public health.”
“I just didn’t want such a national enterprise to be crippled by this incident.”
Their words were polite but laced with hidden threats.
Pablo’s gratitude was sarcastic.
Rose’s concern for not wanting the Swanson’s Group to collapse was also insincere.
Both wanted to destroy each other.
“Ms. Sharp, your concern for the people is truly admirable,” Pablo said, trying to calm himself and smiling:
“Given the urgency of the situation, I won’t beat around the bush.”
“The Swanson’s Group can’t come up with $30 billion; we can at most gather $10 billion. How about this?”
“I’ll reimburse citizens for their purchase of Break Alliance Pill.”
“For the remaining $20 billion worth of Break Alliance Pill, I’ll exchange Glowjoy Pharmaceuticals and Huirui Pharmaceuticals with you. How does that sound?”
Upon hearing this, Rose gripped her phone tightly.
Braiden had divided five pharmaceutical companies under Sharp’s Group among Lilia and Layla, taking two for himself-Glowjoy Pharmaceuticals and Huirui Pharmaceuticals.
She had dreamed of reclaiming those two companies; now that dream was becoming reality. How could she not be excited?
And it was almost like getting them for free!
Those two companies combined were worth up to $2. 7 billion.
And Break Alliance Pill?
Two hundred thousand boxes cost less than $10 million!
It was like spending $10 million to buy companies worth $2. 7 billion-almost like getting something for nothing!
“No! I don’t agree! No way!” Braiden shouted immediately upon hearing Pablo’s proposal.
Pablo’s decision was akin to selling off assets at a loss!
Selling them off would be one thing; giving them away was another!
Not just selling cheaply-giving them away for free!
After ten years of hard work and countless efforts to acquire those two pharmaceutical companies, now they had to hand them back over?
And beg for them to be accepted!
Who could endure such a disparity?
Braiden’s voice was loud and hysterical; Rose heard it clearly on the other end of the line and coldly replied:
“Fine! Saving lives is urgent; I reluctantly agree to Mr. Swanson’s terms.”
“I’ll wait for Mr. Swanson at my company, but I’m very tired today and can only give you one hour.”
She hung up after speaking.
“Bitch! Rose, you bitch!”
“You reluctantly agree? You couldn’t wait to agree!”
“Only giving us one hour? Who do you think you are? A bankrupt bitch! How dare you talk to my dad like that?”
“Bastard! I’ll kill you someday! Kill you!” Braiden’s eyes were red as he raged in fury; his teeth almost shattered from clenching so hard as he cursed loudly.
“Slap!”
Pablo slapped his son across the face, knocking him to the ground with blood spilling from his mouth.
“If you disagree, then get me $30 billion! Do you think I want this? Those two companies are worth nearly $3 billion! My heart bleeds too!”
“But I have no choice-no choice!”
Pablo pounded his chest in agony as tears streamed down his face.
He truly felt pain!
This decision was akin to cutting off an arm to survive.
But without doing so, even their lives would be lost!
The entire Swanson family wept bitterly together.
Selling those two pharmaceutical companies would set them back ten years!
They would fall out of Pelens’ super-elite ranks!
Hearing this, Braiden stopped shouting; he sat on the ground clutching his face with eyes full of despair.
He really couldn’t come up with $30 billion-not even $1 billion.
The amount was too large; even borrowing from friends wouldn’t suffice.
Unless they sought top-tier investment groups-but with Swanson’s Group in crisis and an uncertain future-who would dare invest?
Cutting off an arm to survive seemed like their only option!
“Prepare transfer contracts; I’ll take them over shortly,” Pablo ordered dejectedly as he slumped into a chair.
…..
In a villa on Niarak’s southern outskirts,
“What? A breach penalty of $1 billion?”
Layla listened in shock as her subordinate reported back.
Swanson’s Group wasn’t faring well; neither was Lilia’s Dragon Gate Group.
Acebegron Clear Relief had failed spectacularly; orders taken from Braiden needed canceling.
But raw materials had already been purchased.
Auxiliary materials like medicine boxes and bottles also needed canceling.
Her subordinate estimated total breach penalties at $1 billion.
In better times Dragon Gate Group wouldn’t bat an eye at such an amount.
But with its own hundred-billion-dollar deficit yet unfilled-they were severely short on cash.
“Mr. Hussain-the contract is clear; there’s no escaping it-and you urged us urgently back then-to produce Acebegron Clear Relief at full speed.”
“We stocked up all necessary raw materials-who knew things would turn out this way?”
“And another thing-I heard that-to pay off debts-the Swansons transferred Glowjoy Pharmaceuticals-and Huirui Pharmaceuticals-to Rose.”
What?
Glowjoy Pharmaceuticals-and Huirui Pharmaceuticals-back in Rose’s hands!
It seemed like Swansons were truly cornered.
Lilia collapsed onto her sofa-suddenly feeling utterly lost…
