Aviana instinctively tried to close the door. However, it was forcefully pushed open, and several people stormed in.
Standing at the front, Jaime faked a friendly smile that sent chills down Aviana’s spine, making her very uncomfortable. She sensed these people were not to be trifled with and didn’t dare to offend them.
“Who are you? This is trespassing, I can sue you!” Aviana shouted angrily.
“Shut up! You wretched woman, if you keep yapping, I’ll sew your mouth shut!” one man said coldly, his eyes filled with malice, startling Aviana.
Jaime quickly waved his hand, “Don’t scare the young lady. You brutes, shut up.”
Jaime smiled warmly, “Miss Wooten, right? I have something to discuss with you.”
Without waiting for her consent, Jaime squeezed in and sat down inside with a calm demeanor. The door was abruptly shut!
Aviana was terrified. What did these people intend to do to her? It was clear they were not good people. If they decided to harm her, the consequences would be unimaginable. But now, there was no way out. If she screamed for help, it might provoke them further, leading to an even worse outcome.
It was better to listen to their intentions. They didn’t seem like people who were after money or lust; they must have another purpose.
After thinking for a moment, she weakly asked, “What do you want from me? I have nothing worth taking; I’m just a poor person.”
“And I’m not attractive enough to meet your standards for abduction.”
“Ha!” one man sneered, “You think you’re worth our boss’s attention? Don’t flatter yourself; you make me laugh.”
His words made Aviana extremely embarrassed, her face turning pale.
Jaime didn’t say much but calmly stated, “Miss Wooten, we came specifically to ask you to play a role for us.”
Aviana sneered, “Who do you think you are? Just because you ask me to do something, I have to do it? I…”
“Slap!”
A loud slap echoed, and several red marks appeared on Aviana’s face, her cheeks swelling up.
“Shut up! When our boss speaks, who are you to interrupt? And do you think you have the right to refuse? Who do you think you are?” one man scolded angrily, his eyes full of violence and disdain.
He looked down on Aviana, seeing her as an arrogant and disrespectful woman. If it weren’t for their grand plan, they wouldn’t even bother with someone like her.
But their ferocity silenced Aviana. She stood there holding her face, filled with grievance and anger.
Jaime said calmly, “Miss Wooten, interrupting others is not polite.”
“Also, I’m not one to force others against their will. You can refuse my request; I respect your decision.”
“But my men here have bad tempers; you’d better be careful.”
Aviana bit her lip. This was clearly a threat to make her comply. What else could she do? She was just one woman against several men. What could she possibly do?
“Fine, what do you want me to do?” Aviana asked through gritted teeth.
“What I want you to do is simple,” Jaime smiled. “Just get your boyfriend Devon…”
Aviana interrupted coldly, “You misunderstood. We’ve already broken up.”
“From now on, we have nothing to do with each other. So you’ve got the wrong person.”
Jaime sneered, “Is that so? But Miss Wooten, I’ve investigated your background thoroughly. Are you sure you’re telling the truth?”
“Even if you’ve broken up, it doesn’t matter. Devon cares deeply for you. If you’re in danger, he’ll definitely come to your rescue.”
His smiling eyes made Aviana nervous. “What are you planning?”
