Jordan
I wanted to go to her. She looked so scared. So helpless. I could feel her, now that I linked eyes with her. I could already feel the bond starting to work. I was infatuated with her. She looked just as radiant as I hoped. Her red hair. Her curvy features. Eyes as blue as the ocean. I could not help but to reach her when I recognized her as my mate. I didn’t even care that she was human. That was my mother and Damien’s problem. I wanted to sink my teeth into her. I was glad when Carter pulled me off her. In my animalistic state, I had not realized I had attacked her. I knew I was going to have to apologize to her before anything else. She looked at me and mouthed. She must have been able to feel me as well. I left and trailed Damien. Being his twin, I could always feel where he was. I knew he was going to the Black Diamond. He was probably burying himself in women.
As suspected, when I arrived, he was in the private room, dicking down one woman in doggy style while she was tongue fucking another lady. I growled in displeasure. Thankfully, our mate was human, or at least I think she was. Not really sure what was up with the visions she had. He looked up at me, unfazed that I was there. The women were in so much pleasure, they ignored me completely. He was using his power of persuasion. One of our vampire powers.
” We have just found our mate, and here you are, fucking two she wolfs whores”, I said, crossing my arms. I was annoyed, wanting to rip him and them in half for the bond betrayal. My heart felt like it was on fire, feeling him betray the bond.
” You’re mate, Jordan. Not mine. We have had this discussion”, Damien growled back at me.
” I can feel your betrayal,” I told him, clutching at my heart. He looked up at me, and I saw a glimpse of pain, but he continued.
“Just fucking leave, Jordan. Go be with your human mate”, he said, and ignored me completely. He shut off his side of our twin connection, and in doing so, it lessened the hurt of the betrayal, but I still felt twinges of it. I was pissed. I left and went back to the packhouse. I can not deal with him right now. I followed her smell to Carter and Seth’s room. I passed Luna’s room and saw the windows had been shattered. What the hell? When I went into Seth and Carter’s room, they were awake, watching our mate sleep.
They sensed my presence but kept their eyes on our mate. I sat at the end of the bed near her feet, looking at her. She looked so peaceful.
“What happened in her room?” I asked.
” She got upset and the windows shattered”, Carter said.
” Fuck. Are you both sure she is human?” I asked and they nodded.
” Can’t you sense her humanity?” Seth asked. I looked at her and smelled the air. She was definitely human. Humans always have a particular smell. I can’t describe it.
“Where is Damien?”, Seth asked. I growled a bit. Suddenly, Carter and Seth clutched their hearts. Fuck, so they could feel it too. Seth hopped out of bed and looked at me. I saw his eyes turning black and I knew he was cutting the link in the bond off from Damien. Carter did the same. It would clear the hurt.
” I am going to fucking kill him”, Seth growled lowly. Not enough to wake up Ember.
” He does not want the bond. Especially with Ember”, I said.
” We are all now fated into one bond with her. If he breaks the bond with her, what are the chances it breaks with us all?” Carter asked.
” I will check with Agatha tomorrow while you guys are at work”, I told them, and they nodded. Seth laid back down next to Ember. I didn’t want to leave her in the room knowing she would be sleeping without me. Seth and Carter looked at me as if they were feeling what I was feeling. Perks of being one in the mate bond with Ember. I didn’t want to scare her when she woke up though.
” I’ll take the couch”, I told them. Laying down on the couch, I allowed myself to be surrounded by her scent. I will find out tomorrow what is going on with our mate. She is a human, with four alpha mates. There is definitely something more to this. I would also be having a few choice words with Ruby. How dare she try to end my brother’s bond with Ember? I’m sure she realizes by now that all of us would possibly have been killed if it succeeded. I let the sweet aroma of my mate fill me and I drifted off to sleep.
Ember
I woke up to the smell of baked bread, citrus, and honey. That is how I knew three of my mates were in this room. I looked at the time. It was five in the morning. I was feeling thirsty. I saw Jordan sleeping on the couch. His presence brought me a sense of warmth. I snuck out the room and went into the kitchen. I will be getting ready for work soon. I was trying to reach the top shelf but realized I was too short, which annoyed me.
“Need a hand?”, a voice said from behind me. I turned around, startled, seeing Jordan leaning against the kitchen wall. His shirt was still off, which I had seen in the room, but I allowed myself to really take his form. He was not as bulky, but his muscles were shown clearly. Good fucking genetics. He wore gray sweatpants. My eyes followed the v-cut shape he sported. He cleared his throat, and I looked back up into his green eyes. He had that same expression in his eye that Carter had after I had been caught checking him out.
” Yes, please Jordan, if you can”, I asked him. He smiled. In less than a second, he had already grabbed the cup and was in front of me holding it out. I backed into the sink not realizing it.
“Move slower, please. I am a human”, I joked with him. He laughed at that. It was beautiful to hear. I grabbed the cup from him and turned around to fill the glass with water. He was suddenly behind me, with an arm on each side of me on the kitchen sink. I was trapped. I stood still, unable to move, though, if I’m honest. I didn’t want to.
“Jordan”, I said. I was not really sure what to do. I cocked my head a bit and he started inhaling me. It was an intimate act that I had become used to.
” I get the feeling that you are so much more than just a human”, he whispered, still nuzzling me. I turned around, still pinned by him. He was a head taller than me as I looked up at his beautiful green eyes. Something about them drew me in.
“I am sorry for attacking you earlier”, he said to me.” I was not expecting you, and the animal inside me sort of took over”, he explained. I nodded.
” Seth sort of did the same to me. I have become used to it”, I told him, and he smirked.
“Honestly, I am surprised by Seth’s turn around with you. He always seemed stuck up and resentful towards humans. Then you show up, and have him wrapped around your perfect finger”, he said, running one hand through his curly hair. I wanted to reach up and run my hands through it. It looked soft as fuck. I restrained myself from doing so.
” He just hadn’t met the right human, I suppose. ” I told him, and he smiled.
” I know we just met, and I know this may seem like a lot to you. I would very much like to take you out on your next day off from work, if that is okay with you”, he said.
“What about Damien? Won’t he get upset that I am taking your time?” I asked. His eyes seemed to flash red before turning back to green. Is he mad at Damien?
” You are our mate. If he chooses to ignore the bond, then that is on him. If I had my way though, you would have been bent over that kitchen table the moment I saw you, with your ass in the air getting your pussy licked from behind before I fucked you from night until morning until you beg me to stop” he said, pinning me under his lustful eyes. I could feel myself getting wet from the thought and I knew he smelled it. He leaned into me.
” Is that what you want, Ember”, he questioned. His eyes held me still. Is that what I wanted? Fuck yes it was. Was I going to admit it? Absolutely not. The room felt like it was closing in under his gaze. I was not sure how long we stayed that way.
” That’s enough, Jordan”, I heard a voice from behind him say. I glanced over and saw Damien there. How long had he been there?
” Late night, Damien”, Jordan said, growling a bit. Okay, he was pissed with him. Why?
” Nothing that concerns you”, Damien said, coming over to the cabinet to get a cup. Jordan pulled me away from the sink so that I was in his arms, yet my eyes remained on Damien. Damien looked at Jordan’s hold on me and smirked before pouring himself something to drink from the refrigerator.
” Hold her any tighter, brother, and you may harm the human”, Damien said, looking at Jordan.
“I have a fucking name”, I told Damien. Mate or not, he was not going to disrespect me as if I were not standing right here.
” I didn’t fucking ask you now, did I, human” he said. His eyes held a dangerous glint in them. He was a predator, and I was prey. I finished my glass of water and he moved to take it to the sink, but he was blocking it.
“Move” I said to him. His presence annoyed every inch of me, and his smell was off.
” Or what”, he said back, narrowing his eyes at me. He was challenging me. I knew one wrong move and he could hurt me if he wanted. I doubt Jordan would let it happen, but still. He would. I set the cup on the counter.
” No matter. I will put it in the sink later”, I said before turning around to go back to Jordan. Damien grabbed my arm though before I could react, and I had a vision of him fucking two women. The vision was over as quickly as it had come. Jordan pulled me back into his arms, but I had felt a sense of betrayal and it ate at my heart like a parasite.
” So that is where you go. You find out you have a human mate, and you go fuck two bitches.”, I said, a tear forming on my face. I shrugged out of Jordan’s embrace. I saw Carter and Seth coming into the kitchen, still looking sleepy. My eyes were still focused on Damien.
“What I do is none of your fucking business, human. I suggest you get that into your head now. It will be better for everyone in the long run” he sneered back.
“Fuck you Damien”, I yelled. ” Go. Leave and fuck your whores. I never did anything to you. You’re so fucking brainwashed by your mommy that you can’t even think for yourself. I wish whatever Goddess mated you to me that she never did. I fucking hate you.” I said out loud. His eyes went bloody red when I said that, but I didn’t care. I walked right past him, pushing him out of my way with my left shoulder. I felt eyes on me.
” Do you always have to be such an asshole”, Carter said to Damien before he followed me upstairs. Jordan did the same. I was feeling heated. I decided to shower, since I was going to have to get ready for work in a few anyway.
” Ember”, Jordan said.
“Leave me alone. Both of you. Please”, I told them both. They looked hurt and it hurt me to see that way. I hugged them both.
“I just need some time. I promise. I will be okay”, I told them, trying to assure them. I knew they did not believe me, but they let me go. I took a long shower. I knew Carter and Seth were getting ready as well. They must have used the guest room showers. I was not sure where Jordan and Damien had gone. Carter, Seth, and I were on our way to work when I saw Damien and Jordan by a house, near the entrance to the pack. I can’t believe I hadn’t even noticed it before. It was a forest green house that blended in with the trees. As we passed, Jordan looked right at me and waved.
“Jordan says have a good day at work”, Seth told me, and I smiled. I looked back at the house and saw a woman standing in the forest. She looked as if she blended in, but the most interesting thing I saw was her orange eyes. I had never seen eyes like that before. She seemed to be looking right at me and I heard her voice in my head as we passed by her.
