Chapter 98: Send Her Home

Rumors began to spread that she used personal favors with senior executives to secure her position!
These social media posts thrust Zoey into the spotlight. Everyone was now supporting Bianca, urging Zoey to admit defeat and step down from her director role.
The news had spread throughout the office, and people’s attitudes toward Bianca had changed dramatically. Their ability to switch sides so quickly amazed Bianca.
Bianca set her phone down and focused on her work.
Around two in the afternoon, she finished updating information on her artists and sent the files to HR. Stepping out of the elevator, she noticed a group of people gathered near the meeting room, chatting quietly.
Curious, Bianca approached and heard the pleasant sound of a guitar and a beautiful voice drifting from inside the room.
She joined the crowd and tapped a colleague on the shoulder, asking, “What’s going on in there? Why is everyone so interested?”
Her colleague’s eyes lit up. “There’s a handsome guy inside. He’s here for a singer’s job interview.”
A good-looking guy? In the entertainment industry, they must have seen plenty of handsome men. She figured they’d be used to it.
But why all the excitement this time?
“He’s not just good-looking; he’s got an amazing singing voice. He could be the next Brandon!” Another coworker chimed in with praise.
Bianca wondered who could possibly rival Brandon, but her packed schedule didn’t leave time to find out. With her work done for HR, she turned and headed for the elevator.
Just then, the crowd outside the meeting room moved aside for a young man. He stepped out with a warm smile on his handsome face, catching the attention of the ladies nearby.
“His smile really shows off his good looks! He’s making my heart race!”
“Hey, look, he’s looking right at me!”
“Let’s not get too carried away. He’s probably checking me out!”
Bianca was waiting for the elevator when she suddenly heard a familiar voice.
“Hey, Bianca.”
Bianca turned and saw Blake standing nearby. He was dressed casually, holding a guitar, looking effortlessly handsome and youthful.
Was he the same guy who came for the singer’s job interview?
Bianca stared at Blake, surprised, and the bystanders were equally astonished.
Did this handsome guy know Bianca?
What was their connection?
Well, they weren’t a couple. A handsome guy couldn’t possibly be smitten with someone as chaotic as Bianca in her personal life!
Rumors about Bianca circulated widely within the company. The HR department staff were polite on the surface but secretly skeptical.
“Blake, why do you want to be a singer?” Bianca asked, curious.
Blake lifted his guitar, smiling brightly. “I’ve always had a passion for singing, and I’ve dreamt of living the life of a star. What do you say? Would you consider being my agent?”
“I’d be honored.”
Just as the elevator arrived, Blake joined Bianca inside, and they continued chatting and laughing.
As the elevator doors closed, onlookers stared in astonishment, clearly envious.
After completing her tasks, Bianca noticed that almost everyone else in the department had already left for the day. She realized Zoey had been absent the entire time.
Curious, she checked her phone to see if there were any updates on Twitter, but to her surprise, all the posts about Zoey’s educational background had mysteriously disappeared.
Despite her efforts to search, Bianca found no trace of the information.
Frowning, she thought over Jessica’s theory. Zoey likely had powerful support to handle the trending topics.
If Bianca couldn’t figure out who was backing Zoey, dealing with her would be tough.
Bianca sighed heavily, uncertain of how things would turn out.
Leaving the office, feeling disheartened, she heard a friendly male voice.
“Hi there, Bianca.”
Bianca looked over at the gate and saw Blake standing there in his white shirt, the breeze ruffling it gently.
Approaching her with a warm smile, Blake commented, “You’ve been working late, even after everyone else left. You must be swamped with work.”
“I thought you’d be gone after your interview,” Bianca replied, a bit surprised.
“I’ve been waiting for you,” Blake said with a smile. “Are you hungry? What do you want to eat? It’s my treat.”
Bianca’s stomach didn’t hesitate to growl loudly in response to his offer.
Bianca and Blake smiled at each other warmly as they walked into a restaurant.
While they ate, Bianca looked curious and asked, “What made you want to become a Phoenix Entertainment artist?”
“Because of you,” Blake replied seriously, meeting her eyes.
“Because of me?” Bianca frowned, puzzled and wanting to understand.
Blake went on, “At that party, I saw how well you handled Zoey. Your smarts and kindness were impressive. Your dedication to protecting your artists really impressed me. So-”
Bianca thought she understood the situation. Blake had recently come back from overseas. Since he wanted to break into the entertainment business and she worked as an agent, it made sense for him to choose her, his friend, as his agent.
Bianca pursed her lips and looked into Blake’s bright eyes. “But if I lose the bet, I’ll have to leave Phoenix Entertainment.”
Blake nodded, aware of the bet, but never doubted Bianca’s ability to win. He believed in her skills, especially knowing his godfather had always admired Sophia.
“It doesn’t matter. I’ll wait for you. Win or lose, I’ll support you wherever you go.”
Touched, Bianca thanked Blake for his trust. “Thank you for believing in me, Blake.”
After dinner, Blake walked Bianca to her neighborhood.
Before saying goodbye, Bianca felt embarrassed and apologized, “I’m sorry for bothering you again today, Blake.”
Blake gently tapped her forehead and said, “I don’t want to hear you say that again. You’re my friend, and I’m glad to help.”
Bianca smiled softly. Just then, a leaf floated down and landed gracefully on her hair. Without hesitation, Blake moved closer and gently plucked it off.
As he approached, a fresh scent filled Bianca’s senses.
Realizing they were getting a little too close, Bianca quickly stepped back, maintaining a proper distance. She glanced at the leaf in Blake’s hand, touched her hair, and smiled, saying, “Thank you. See you next time.”
Blake looked tenderly into Bianca’s bright eyes under the streetlights and nodded, saying, “Give me a call when you’re free.”
“Okay.” With that, Bianca briskly entered the residential area.
Unnoticed by either of them, a limited edition Bugatti was parked on the street. Inside the car, Dave observed every move the two made across the road.
He had hired someone to investigate Blake and found out he was Vincent’s godson. Could this explain why Bianca had been so friendly to Blake from the beginning?
