Lina noticed the displeased expression on Leo’s face. She walked into the room with a smile and explained, “Honored guest, I apologize, but your clothes were too damaged to wear again, so I took everything out of your pockets and prepared a new set of clothes for you.”
Seeing that Leo remained silent, Lina became a bit nervous and quickly added, “Don’t worry, everything from your clothes is here. I just took them out of your old clothes…”
Realizing his clothes were indeed unwearable after the fight with Cedric, Leo accepted the tray from Lina and thanked her.
As Leo prepared to change, he noticed Lina didn’t leave. Instead, she smiled and said, “Honored guest, let me help you change.”
“No need, thank you.” Lina’s overly attentive service made Leo a bit uncomfortable.
“Alright then, I’ll wait outside. Once you’re dressed, I’ll take you to breakfast.” Lina turned to leave but stopped and curiously asked, “Sir, may I ask you a question?”
“Go ahead.”
Lina pointed to the talismans on the tray. “What are these yellow papers?”
Leo was momentarily stunned but then smiled. “These are talismans.”
“Talismans?” Lina frowned, not understanding.
“You can think of them as treasures with various magical functions,” Leo explained.
“Treasures, got it.” Lina nodded and left the room with a smile.
After changing his clothes, Leo followed Lina to the dining room.
The castle’s dining room was luxurious and grand, decorated in a style reminiscent of medieval royalty.
If it were someone’s first time entering, they would definitely think it was a place reserved for British royalty.
Dukes Deane, Gawain, and Joseph were already seated at the large dining table.
Earl Tassick stood respectfully by the side. Seeing Leo approach, he hurried forward to greet him.
After sitting down, the sumptuous breakfast made Leo’s appetite soar.
After breakfast, Duke Deane put down his fork and snapped his fingers.
Earl Tassick walked over to Leo and handed him a black card.
Leo looked down at the black card with a long string of English letters on it.
Understanding the letters, Leo’s astonishment was almost written on his face.
Even though he was somewhat immune to money, Leo’s heart couldn’t help but skip a beat.
This black card was a Dubai Royal Elite Diamond MasterCard!
The Dubai Royal Elite Diamond MasterCard is the “card of cards,” targeting “VVIPs.”
This diamond card is made of gold and diamonds, with a 0. 02-carat top-grade diamond embedded in the center, hence the name “Diamond Card.”
The decorations beside the diamond differ: peacocks for female cardholders and Pegasus for male cardholders.
The Dubai Royal Elite Diamond MasterCard is jointly issued by MasterCard and Kazakhstan’s second-largest bank. There are only 1, 000 cards worldwide, with only 30 issued each month. The annual fee is $1, 000.
For this type of credit card, the credit limit is irrelevant; it represents a status symbol!
The vampires weren’t fools. The decision to gift such an expensive card to Leo was made after a discussion among the three dukes.
The discussion took place last night after they had a satisfying feast of human blood.
Duke Joseph initiated the conversation: “Deane, Gawain, this young man from Atraria named Leo is truly terrifying.”
“He even managed to defeat Cardinal Cedric. You know Cedric’s combat prowess is comparable to that of our esteemed prince.”
“He obtained two treasures from Ecclesia, the Holy Scarab and Holy Nail. This significantly weakens Ecclesia’s power, which is great news for us.”
“Fortunately, he’s not part of Ecclesia; otherwise, we vampires would be in trouble,” Duke Gawain added.
Duke Deane nodded. “Atraria is indeed a magical place to produce such a powerful young man. At his age, I couldn’t even defeat a knight from the knights’ order.”
“Gawain, Joseph, how should we treat someone capable of defeating Cedric?”
“We can only be friends with him, not enemies,” Gawain replied.
Joseph agreed.
Deane revealed his sharp fangs. “Exactly. We must make him an eternal friend of our vampire clan. I’ve heard that people from Atraria are very friendly towards their friends, so…”
Gawain understood Deane’s implication and continued, “So we should give him a valuable gift as a token of our friendship.”
“I agree!” Joseph enthusiastically slapped his thigh.
The three exchanged knowing smiles, their laughter echoing eerily in the room.
Leo withdrew his gaze from the diamond card and looked at Duke Deane. “Your Grace, this is…”
“My dear friend, it’s for you,” Duke Deane smiled, even changing how he addressed Leo.
Leo shook his head. “Your Grace, we have an old saying in Atraria: ‘One should not receive rewards without merit.’ Such an expensive gift-I can’t accept it.”
Leo understood well that accepting favors comes with strings attached; he couldn’t easily accept this diamond card.
“No, no.” Duke Deane shook his head earnestly and looked sincerely at Leo. “You defeated Cedric; that’s a tremendous merit for our vampire clan!”
“We vampires have a saying: ‘Anyone who can defeat Cedric will be our eternal friend.’ My dear friend, please accept this card,” Gawain added. Though he made up the saying on the spot.
Seeing Leo still hesitant, Duke Joseph added more persuasion: “Dear friend, rest assured that accepting this card doesn’t obligate you to do anything. This card is merely a testament to our friendship.”
With their words leaving no room for refusal, Leo felt it would be pretentious to decline further. He accepted the card from Earl Tassick with a smile. “Thank you very much, Your Graces.”
Seeing Leo accept the diamond card brought smiles to Deane and the others’ faces.
It seemed that giving away such a valuable gift was something that made them genuinely happy.
Just as Leo was about to ask Duke Deane to arrange his trip to Paris, his phone rang.
Leo gave an apologetic look and walked to the window to answer the call. It was Fire Rose calling.
Pressing the answer button, Leo immediately asked, “Fire Rose, any news on the Yongzhou Cauldron?”
“Yes, we just got word; it’s in New York.”
“Wasn’t it in Paris? How did it end up in New York?”
“We don’t know. This information is accurate though, so you’ll need to go to New York.”
