The sound of a kiss was immediately met with a sigh from Andreas. Immediately, his chest rose and fell with frozen breath as an unsatisfied expression appeared as Vlora pushed him to break the kiss that had just deepened.
Vlora moved away. Both hands were raised and without saying anything, she went straight for the buttons of Andreas’ shirt. With a gesture of impatience, she unbuttoned them one by one.
Andreas swallowed hard. He felt a distinct scratch from Vlora’s nails on his chest, no doubt done on purpose to set him on fire. His jaw clenched, and he did not mind at all when Vlora’s lips landed after the shirt had come off.
Eyes closed. Andreas’ moan vibrated through his chest. But much to his disappointment, Vlora pulled away just as he was beginning to lose himself in the moment.
Andreas opened his eyes. He wanted to complain, but was startled by Vlora’s next move. Suddenly and unexpectedly, Vlora’s slender fingers moved quickly and pushed him. He fell backwards and landed directly on the bed.
“Vlora.”
Andreas’ body bounced a few times on the soft bed. He waited for the right moment before lifting himself up, leaning on both elbows, but Vlora stunned him for the umpteenth time.
Vlora moved onto the bed as well. She crawled up Andreas’ body without breaking eye contact.
“I don’t like this, Reas.”
Andreas’ internal systems seemed to be malfunctioning. He could barely concentrate on his sense of hearing when he saw Vlora approaching with gestures he had never imagined, wild and seductive. Especially when Vlora scratched his chest again with her nails.
It stung, but only a little. It was the passion that dominated.
“What do you mean?”
Vlora’s finger movements stopped. The eyes that had followed the movement of her finger rose again and shifted to Andreas’ sinking gaze.
“I don’t like it when you leave. I don’t like being ignored.”
Ah! Andreas grinned. He held his position under Vlora’s intimidation, then stared at her slowly.
“Are you jealous?”
Andreas challenged with his voice and his question. He awaited Vlora’s answer with rebellious curiosity. What kind of answer would Vlora give?
“Of course,” Vlora answered without hesitation. “You are my husband, Reas. Have you forgotten what you promised when you proposed to me?”
Proposed to me?
His forehead wrinkled slightly. His eyes narrowed. The grin changed to a faint smile of amusement.
It seemed as if an agreement had been reached that what had happened before was a proposal, not an offer.
A hint of joy appeared in Andreas’ chest. But that did not make him careless. He remembered, and there might be many things he had unconsciously promised when he had proposed to Vlora.
“Just like a marriage between two people, I can assure you that there will be no other women while we’re married. Even if our marriage lasts until one of us dies, you will be the only one during that time.”
Andreas remembered the most important of his promises to Vlora. Then something disturbed him.
“Don’t you think I could meet other women?” he asked.
Vlora’s face lowered and approached Andreas’. “Do I have to worry about that?”
“No,” Andreas answered quickly and firmly. “There will be no other woman as long as we are married; that’s what I said before.”
“If that’s the case…” Vlora’s face fell even more. She took a position right next to Andreas’ face and whispered. “… there’s no reason for you to leave me alone tonight, Reas.”
Oh, my goodness. Andreas immediately prayed silently, hoping that he would be able to control himself and not suddenly lunge at Vlora. Even though it might be difficult at the moment.
In reality, Vlora’s bold appearance and actions were not the only test of Andreas’ self-control. For some reason, the atmosphere in the room felt decidedly sensual. From the dim light, caused by the main light being off, to the seductive scent that successfully wafted through the air.
So, it was only natural that Andreas finally succumbed to the irresistible urge. His hands went up and encircled Vlora’s body. He pushed and laid her down.
Vlora’s legs moved quickly to welcome Andreas’ action. They wrapped around Andreas’ waist, eliminating any possibility of distance, even if only a little.
There was a slight friction between Andreas’ stomach skin and the smooth fabric Vlora was wearing. As a result, Andreas growled between the questions he was throwing.
“Is that why you haven’t slept yet?”
Andreas fixed his gaze on Vlora. He showed a bright, ego-filled look, which prompted Vlora to begin her answer with a nod.
“It seems that after five months of being married to you, I’ve developed a new habit.”
“A new habit?”
“Yes. You’ve gotten me used to sleeping in your embrace.”
Andreas vividly remembered how reluctant Vlora had been to accept the embrace he had given her on their wedding night. Vlora felt uncomfortable, but he did not care. He continued to hug and comfort her, eventually creating a new habit for Vlora.
“I’m glad to hear that you’ve gotten used to sleeping in my embrace. So, I’m happy to take responsibility for that as well.”
Vlora blinked. She realized that Andreas would never be a man who made empty promises. Andreas always tried to prove his words. Just like now.
Andreas’ face came closer. His eyes focused on Vlora’s lips. He was ready to plant a kiss, but Vlora moved and changed her position.
Andreas missed the kiss. Instead, he growled in a mixture of surprise and challenge when he found Vlora on top of him again.
“Unfortunately, what I want now is not your responsibility, but…”
Vlora showed a self-confident attitude. She tilted Andreas’ jaw as she finished her statement.
“… your judgment.”
