Chapter 354 Unreasonable!

Book:Fallen Heir Rising Published:2024-6-19

“They are my friends,” Riya said. “Devon, don’t be impulsive. Acting on impulse won’t solve anything; it will only make things worse and drag you deeper into trouble.”
“The people I’ve offended are not ones you can afford to provoke. If you go looking for trouble, it will only make things more complicated for me. In the future, use your brain before acting.”
Despite Riya’s scolding, Devon wasn’t angry. Instead, he smiled and said, “Sis, if you can still scold me, it means you have some strength left. Your injuries aren’t too serious, haha-”
“Get lost-” Riya was amused.
At that moment, a sharp voice came from outside the door, “Devon, you useless fool!”
“You rushed over here like it was some big emergency. Turns out your sister is alive and kicking!”
“I can’t believe you! You’re such a loser. If your sister can call you, doesn’t that mean she’s still alive? Why did you rush over and drag me along? Don’t you know I hate the smell of hospitals?”
A young girl walked in, covering her nose with a look of disdain.
Hearing her words, Devon’s face turned sour. “Say less! My sister is still lying in bed. If you’re unhappy, then leave!”
Aviana Wooten rolled her eyes. “Devon, you’ve grown some guts to talk to me like that!”
“Who do you think you are? Besides me, who else would like a poor orphan with no house or car?”
“Your sister isn’t my sister. Coming here with you is a privilege for you and your sister! What kind of attitude is this?”
“Am I wrong? She’s not in any serious condition, yet you dragged me here! Did you consider my feelings? I don’t want to stay in this disgusting place!”
Aviana’s disdain and impatience were evident on her face, and her words were harsh.
Even Charlotte and Quentin, who were outsiders, felt extremely uncomfortable listening to her, let alone Riya.
They guessed that this girl was probably Devon’s girlfriend. They couldn’t believe how mean she was; her behavior was utterly unacceptable.
As Devon’s girlfriend, was it too much to ask to visit his sister in the hospital?
Even if she didn’t want to come, it would be understandable!
But to come here and be so sarcastic and insulting was just disgusting.
This wasn’t just a matter of personality; it was a matter of character. This girl’s character and upbringing were truly appalling.
Riya narrowed her eyes slightly and smiled. “Devon, is this the girlfriend you mentioned?”
Before Devon could speak, Aviana snorted coldly. “Who else would want him?”
Devon lowered his head guiltily. “Sis, she’s just in a bad mood today. Usually…”
Aviana snorted again. “This is just how I am! Devon, why are you being such a coward?”
“I’m straightforward. If you can’t accept it, then don’t!”
“Sis, out of respect for Devon, I’ll call you Sis. You know Devon’s situation-no house, no car, no savings. To put it bluntly, he’s a loser!”
“When we first got together, everyone said Devon was lucky to have found a girlfriend like me…”
“And that’s the truth.”
“Since we’re meeting today, I’ll lay out my conditions. If you want to get married, I need a 150-square-meter new house, unconditionally gifted and in my name.”
“The car… at least a BBA level? All my friends have these conditions. My requirements aren’t excessive; if Devon can’t meet them, it’s his problem, not mine.”
She paused and continued, “I heard you work at Time Group and are in management. You should have some capabilities.”
“I’ll ask you directly: will you help your brother with his marriage?”
“Let’s be clear; I don’t want to live with a poor guy.”
Devon blushed and lowered his head. “Say less; this is our family matter. Can’t we discuss it at home?”
His tone carried a hint of pleading.
“No!”
Aviana refused outright. “Since your sister is here today, I’ll ask her directly. Why wait until we get home?”
“With your abilities, you’ll never meet my requirements in this lifetime. Your sister has money; it’s up to her whether she wants to help you!”
“If my conditions aren’t met, we’ll break up. You can stay single for the rest of your life!”
Aviana’s face was icy cold.
