Bianca wanted to keep arguing, but Josh stopped her.
Feeling frustrated and powerless, she couldn’t challenge the company’s vice general manager. With a tight jaw, she had no option but to leave.
Shortly after Bianca left, Zoey entered, walking confidently towards Josh, who pulled her into a hug.
Josh had helped Zoey become a director agent.
Since then, Zoey has been taking bribes to sign new talent, with Josh getting most of the money.
The duo had been working together for a long time, making lots of money because of Phoenix Entertainment’s power in the industry.
Justin usually didn’t get involved in hiring decisions, but his direct promotion of Bianca made them nervous.
If Zoey’s job was in danger, so were Josh’s profits.
That’s why Josh was willing to let go of Sophia, who was a big deal in the industry, to help Zoey get rid of Bianca and remove any threat.
“When Sophia comes back, she’ll compete with Natalie for the lead role in Vincent’s new movie. Please help Natalie get the part,” Zoey said, usually so confident, now sounding soft and charming with Josh.
“Don’t worry. I’ve already talked to Gabriel’s lawyer. He’s got enough dirt on Sophia to ruin her reputation. Once that’s out, it’ll cause a big fuss, and her value will drop. She won’t be able to compete with Natalie,” Josh reassured her.
Josh had another motive. He didn’t want Justin to come back sooner and find Sophia’s reputation untouched.
So, he paid off the paparazzi and spread rumors to damage her reputation. People’s opinions changed, and Vincent probably hesitated to work with Sophia because of the negative attention.
Meanwhile, while Justin was away, it was the perfect time for Josh to fire Bianca from the company.
After a long day, Bianca returned home to an empty apartment, feeling sad.
She sank into the couch, lost in her thoughts. She couldn’t understand why Josh didn’t want to sign Sophia.
Other companies were interested in Sophia, too, and they needed to finalize the deal quickly. But with Justin out of town and no return date set, Bianca felt stuck.
Feeling overwhelmed, she thought about texting Sophia to ask for more time, but she struggled to find the right words.
Bianca absentmindedly scrolled through her phone and came across Dave’s profile.
He was probably overseas by now.
She wondered if his journey had gone smoothly.
Bianca typed out a text, “Mr. Evans, did you make it there safely? How’s the weather? Are you doing alright?”
Bianca hesitated before sending the message.
Recalling Haris’s threat, she felt a pang of pain.
She had decided to end things with Dave. Reaching out to him now was not an option.
His safety and location were no longer her concern.
She intended to return his necklace and find a new place to live.
Bianca chose not to send the message and put her phone down, sinking into the sofa with her eyes shut.
Her phone beeped, signaling a new message.
She wondered if it was from Mr. Evans.
Grabbing her phone, she felt a twinge of disappointment when she saw it was from Sophia.
The message read, “Bianca, I’m getting a dress made for Lopez’s couple’s anniversary dinner next weekend. Can you send me your measurements?”
Bianca politely refused, saying, “It’s okay, Sophia. I’ll handle my dress.”
But Sophia insisted, saying, “You’ve done so much for me. Think of it as a thank-you present. Please say yes.”
Feeling obliged, Bianca accepted, saying, “Okay, thank you, Sophia. I’ll send you my measurements soon.”
Sophia was thrilled, replying, “Awesome! I’ll be waiting!”
Bianca reached for a tape measure and swiftly measured herself. Once done, she opened her phone and edited the message to send out her measurements.
Then, she put her phone down on the table and went to freshen up.
When she returned, she got Sophia’s text: “Bianca, did you send the measurements?”
Bianca stopped, confused. Didn’t Sophia get her message? Then who did she send it to?
She quickly checked her sent messages. Suddenly, she felt shocked. She accidentally sent her measurements to Dave!
Meanwhile, a group of top bosses sat around a long, fancy desk in a big meeting room at the Evans Group’s main office in Mubluosia. They just finished talking about the company’s future plans in Mubluosia. Everyone looked at the man leading the meeting, waiting for his final decision.
Dave looked super classy in a fancy black suit, a dark brown silk tie, and a silver tie clip with blue diamonds, keeping his tie in place.
His hair was neatly combed back, showing off his handsome but stern face.
He put his hands on the desk, fingers crossed, looking like a serious and powerful business tycoon.
The room was so quiet that one could hear a pin drop. Everyone was waiting anxiously for Dave to speak.
Suddenly, his phone buzzed with a message.
Dave looked at the screen and saw Bianca’s name. The message was short: “Bust 34. 5, waist 24, hips 36.”
Dave frowned, feeling puzzled and curious.
Why would Bianca send him her measurements? What did she mean by that?
The numbers quickly reminded Dave of Bianca’s curvy body. Even though she usually dressed casually, he always noticed how beautiful her figure was.
His throat felt dry, so he coughed quietly and kept talking during the meeting, pretending like nothing strange had happened.
Meanwhile, Bianca was freaking out. Her face turned red with embarrassment. The message was already sent, and she couldn’t undo it. What would Dave think?
She hoped he wouldn’t get the wrong idea!
After thinking for a moment, she quickly sent another message to Dave. “Sorry, I sent that to the wrong person.”
As Dave spoke, everyone in the room sat up straight and leaned in to hear the CEO’s words.
Suddenly, his phone rang once more.
Glancing at the screen, Dave’s eyes narrowed. Bianca said she sent it to the wrong person. But who was she trying to send it to?
This made Dave frown in confusion. He stopped talking abruptly, grabbed his phone, and left the office.
Everyone in the room exchanged confused looks. They couldn’t believe the boss would leave a meeting because of a message. What was happening?
After Bianca sent the correction, Dave called her.
Bianca’s heart pounded in her chest. After a moment of hesitation, she answered the phone, “Hello, Mr. Evans.”
“Who else is asking for your measurements?” Dave asked in a raspy voice. “Tell me, and I’ll deal with that person when I get back.”
Bianca didn’t expect Dave to be so direct, but it seemed like he misunderstood something.
“No, Mr. Evans, you’re overthinking it! It’s for Sophia. We’re going to Vincent and his wife’s anniversary party this weekend. Since I helped her before, she wanted to make me a dress and asked for my measurements. I just don’t know how I ended up sending them to you…”
