In March, the temperature in Peachshire Town was around 24 degrees, perfect weather for taking wedding photos. Leland Burns selected fifteen wedding dresses, five for indoor shoots and ten for outdoor. Although it wasn’t a large number, the heavy wedding dresses were cumbersome to wear, allowing them to shoot only four or five sets a day.
Each time Winifred Dawson changed into a new dress, she had to redo her hairstyle. She was so exhausted that she dozed off while getting her makeup done and even protested about not wanting to continue.
To appease her, Leland Burns always prepared her favorite desserts. Winifred Dawson loved sweets and could eat them three times a day without getting tired of them. However, sweets were not good for her health, so Leland Burns restricted her intake, which led to many disagreements.
Now, as long as she obediently changed into the wedding dresses and posed for the photos, she could enjoy her beloved desserts. This made Winifred Dawson very happy. Despite feeling a bit aggrieved, the thought of eating desserts made her comply willingly.
Leland Burns always wanted to give the best to Winifred Dawson. Taking wedding photos should be a joyful and happy occasion for a woman; it’s one of the most important events in life that cannot be replaced by anything else.
Among the fifteen wedding gowns, all were high-end custom designs in various styles. The dress Winifred Dawson wore had a long and heavy train that required someone to hold it up as she walked. The train was embroidered and encrusted with diamonds of various sizes, sparkling under the lights like stars on her feet, creating an enchanting effect.
This particular wedding dress had a special name: Anahid, meaning Moon Goddess. The moon belongs to the sky; it seems close yet is out of reach. The train sparkled like stars, and Winifred Dawson’s face was as captivating as the moon itself.
“When the moon shines on me, for a moment, I feel like it’s my own moon.”
Each wedding dress fit perfectly because Leland Burns provided the measurements without needing to take them specifically. He knew Winifred Dawson’s body better than anyone else since he held her every day.
Choosing rings, taking wedding photos, obtaining marriage certificates-all these steps seemed gradual but were actually well-planned in advance.
The photographer had been working for thirty years and had never seen such a well-matched couple in appearance. Their good looks inspired endless creativity in her, making her eager to take more photos.
“The bride sits on the bench, tilts her head slightly upwards, get closer… The groom leans down, left hand holding her face… Yes… just touch her ear… foreheads together…”
“Click-” The camera captured the moment; Leland Burns looked at Winifred Dawson with tenderness in his eyes.
Leland Burns also had a makeover today with several high-end suits. His hair was styled up, revealing his sharp forehead with a few strands falling down, making his face look exquisite and handsome.
For the first time in front of others, they displayed such intimacy. Nose to nose, they could feel each other’s breath and warmth.
Leland Burns’ hand on Winifred Dawson’s ear felt warm like an electric current flowing through her body. Her heart tightened involuntarily.
Winifred Dawson’s ears were sensitive; even a gentle blow would make her scalp tingle. Now being touched by Leland Burns occasionally made her uncomfortable and she instinctively shrugged to avoid his touch.
Leland Burns stopped her from moving: “Don’t move; the photographer is taking pictures.”
Winifred Dawson looked up briefly; after pretending for so long, she almost believed she loved Leland Burns for a moment.
How could she have feelings for Leland Burns? This fleeting emotion was just discomfort from being touched by him. She could never love Leland Burns; even if he were the last man on earth, she wouldn’t be with him.
Several flashes went off as the photographer instructed Leland Burns to change poses again-this time hugging Winifred Dawson from behind.
It would take at least half a month to develop the photos. Their looks were so outstanding that no retouching was needed. Out of 200 photos taken, Leland Burns kept them all.
Flowers were essential for wedding photos but unfortunately, Winifred Dawson was allergic to roses. So Leland Burns chose camellias instead; these flowers held special significance for him and Winifred Dawson.
Once developed, the wedding photos needed framing. Leland Burns quickly replaced paintings worth tens of thousands or even millions on Autumn Joy Estate’s walls with their wedding photos.
This action disregarded others’ opinions entirely. Satisfied with how their photos looked on the walls, he even moved one to his office at work.
This move stunned everyone who thought they knew him well; they realized there were no limits when it came to his feelings for Winifred Dawson.
Fortunately, he didn’t go overboard-only placing two photos in his office: one on the wall and another smaller one on his desk for easy access.
When Wesley and Henry visited Burns Group again and entered Leland’s office, they were almost blinded by the wedding photo on the wall.
“This guy is unbelievable,” Henry muttered. “I’ve seen people flaunt their weddings but never like this.”
Henry couldn’t resist teasing him: “Boss, you’re fast! Already took wedding photos with Miss Dawson? Does this mean the wedding is soon?”
Leland replied seriously: “I’m currently planning it. What do you think? I’ve picked several venues; which one do you think is best?”
Henry’s mouth twitched: “Did you get Winifred’s consent for all this?”
“She agreed; look how happy she is in those photos.”
“Is that genuine happiness? Boss,” Henry continued skeptically, “Winifred’s condition isn’t stable right now. Why not just have kids instead of rushing into marriage?”
“I need to take responsibility.”
“Responsibility?” Henry echoed incredulously before exchanging glances with Wesley that almost made them laugh out loud. “Do you really think this is responsible? Taking advantage of her confusion to marry her? Marriage is serious business-what if she recovers on your wedding day?”
Leland shot Henry a cold look that silenced him immediately: “Speak your business.”
“We’ve got two new shipments coming in,” Henry said quickly. “The delivery points are far; should we use water or land routes?”
