Chapter 65: I Added A Bit Of A Laxative On It

Despite Bianca’s past anger toward him, Peter had always cared for her like a precious daughter.
But today, she had gone too far with her shocking action.
If the baby were indeed hurt, Peter’s love for Bianca would turn into deep resentment.
Ashley couldn’t hide her smirk as she watched the scene unfold. She turned to Joshua and held onto his arm, seizing the opportunity to speak ill against Bianca.
“Mr. Reed, do you see? I was right about her. Bianca isn’t just mean. She’s downright cruel. She’s caused trouble for me and my mom in the past. And now, she’s even gone against an unborn baby. Disgusting, isn’t she?”
Joshua snorted, shaking his head. “I’ve dealt with women like her before. Luckily for her, she didn’t succeed last time.”
To Joshua, Ashley seemed almost innocent compared to Bianca.
“I need to take Stacey to the hospital. We’ll talk about this later,” Peter said firmly, picking Stacey up and giving Bianca a stern look.
Just as Peter was about to leave, Bianca’s calm voice stopped him. “Stacey’s baby is safe.”
Peter stopped, turning back in surprise.
“What do you mean?” he asked.
“I mean, the baby is okay,” Bianca clarified. Then, she stood up slowly from her seat. Her eyes moved across the crowd without much emotion, settling on Stacey, who was being held by Peter. Bianca continued, “The glass of water I was supposed to give her had something in it to end the pregnancy, but… I swapped it out.”
Bianca’s revelation left everyone confused and exchanging puzzled looks.
Bianca was the one who made the switch. What was going on here?
And who actually put something in the water?
Bianca walked around the table, approaching Peter and Stacey. In the bright lights, her eyes seemed to shine even brighter.
And somehow, Bianca now had a glass of water that looked just like the one Stacey had been drinking from.
Bianca raised the glass, swirling its contents slowly.
“This is the drink I got from the server. I’m not sure if it’s been tampered with, but I’ve called the police. They’ll sort it out when they arrive,” Bianca announced.
She glanced at the glass Stacey had been drinking from.
“And as for Stacey’s drink? I added a bit of a laxative on it,” Bianca admitted.
Bianca had a hunch that Stacey was planning to set her up at her own party, so she took precautions.
That’s why Bianca had brought a laxative with her, just in case. Without such precautions, she wouldn’t have dared to attend Stacey’s party alone.
Stacey’s attempt to tarnish Bianca’s name was so expected that it hardly surprised Bianca.
At that moment, Stacey’s expression turned furious. The pain in her belly had eased, but now she urgently needed to use the restroom. Desperately, she pulled away from Peter’s grasp and leaped off.
As soon as Stacey fell, a bad smell spread around her.
“What’s that stinky smell?” Someone asked, wrinkling their nose in disgust.
Everyone looked at Stacey.
Some people started laughing.
Feeling embarrassed, Stacey screamed, covered her face, and ran off to find a restroom.
“Mom!” Ashley called out, worried, and followed her.
Bianca turned to Peter and advised, “You should go check on her. If anything happens in the restroom, I can’t be blamed.”
Peter’s face turned red with frustration.
An embarrassing situation at his own birthday party was unacceptable!
He glared at Bianca and demanded, “What’s going on? How could the waiter give her water with an abortifacient in it?! You better explain yourself, or you’re not going anywhere!”
Bianca replied calmly, “Stacey organized this birthday party and hired the waitstaff. I’m just here as her guest. Why would I be involved in something like this? You should ask your wife about her plan to end her pregnancy and blame me. If I hadn’t caught on to her scheme early and switched the abortifacient with a laxative, you would never know if the baby she’s carrying is yours. It could have even ended our relationship.”
Peter’s expression turned dark and grim.
“Dad, you’re smart. Think about it. Don’t let Stacey deceive you again.”
After hearing Bianca’s explanation, Peter glanced towards the direction Stacey had gone, his forehead furrowed, and he headed towards the restroom.
Later, the police arrived. They gathered information from the guests and promptly requested two glasses of water for testing.
The results confirmed Bianca’s statement. However, the waiter who had served water to Bianca was nowhere to be found.
Since the party was on a beach without surveillance, there were no leads for further investigation.
In the end, the police had no choice but to close the case without resolving it.
After the intense scene at the party ended, Bianca, having proven her innocence, left amidst the crowd’s admiration.
People couldn’t help but admire how composed, intelligent, courageous, and impressive Bianca was.
On the other hand, Stacey’s reputation took a serious hit.
Her plan had completely failed, leaving everyone curious about how she would deal with the consequences.
After leaving the party, Bianca decided to take a walk along the beach instead of going home.
The beach was peaceful, bathed in moonlight, and the gentle waves lapped at her ankles as she walked.
Lost in her thoughts, Bianca wandered without any particular destination. Despite winning today’s battle, she couldn’t find any happiness because she had suffered losses that hurt deeply.
Feeling a bit down, she took out her phone, thinking about calling Dave. However, she hesitated, not wanting to bother him too much. Instead, she dialed her best friend, Diana.
“Bianca, what’s up? Do you miss me?” Diana’s voice sounded cheerful and kind. She had been Bianca’s best friend for many years.
Bianca felt a tug at her heart and admitted, “Yeah, I miss you too.”
“Why are you getting all sentimental? That’s not like you. Just to be clear, I’m not into romantic stuff!”
Diana teased Bianca, sensing her serious mood. It made Bianca laugh.
“Stop messing around. Have you seen Brandon lately?” Bianca had been wanting to ask Diana about it, but she’d been too busy lately to catch up.
Diana sighed, “Yeah, I saw him, but he thought I was a crazy fan and bolted.”
“When did you start liking him?” Bianca asked, curious.
“It’s a complicated story. He just makes me feel different, you know? I’m not giving up on him.”
Respecting Diana’s privacy, Bianca didn’t press for more details. They chatted a bit more before ending the call.
Feeling a bit better, Bianca started walking back.
Unaware, she passed by a distinctive beach car parked nearby. Inside, Dave sat, one hand on the wheel, the other on the door, watching her with a worried expression.
