Curled up in the corner of the couch, Bianca felt a pang in her chest at his words. She frowned a bit and asked, “Then why didn’t you come home earlier?”
“Because I upset you, and I was scared to come back. Did you miss me?” Dave looked at her, his eyes serious, making Bianca’s heart race and her cheeks flush.
It felt like he was a husband coming back after a fight.
Thinking he might be teasing her, Bianca kicked his leg in protest. “Stop it. Miss you? No way!”
But when she pulled her foot back, Dave grabbed her ankle firmly.
“Does your ankle still hurt?”
Bianca blushed when Dave grabbed her foot, and she quickly pulled it away and hid it under the blanket.
She shook her head and said, “The medicine I used last night really helped. It’s only been one night, but I don’t feel any pain anymore.”
Dave smiled knowingly. Then he looked at her phone on the table and asked casually, “What are you watching?”
Bianca sighed softly. “I’m watching an interview with Sophia Johnson, the famous actress who disappeared.”
Dave squinted a bit. “Why are you suddenly interested in this? Is it for your job?”
“Yeah, it’s for work. I’m trying to bring her back into the spotlight and sign her with Phoenix Entertainment again. It’s just sad she disappeared after getting married. No one knows where she is.” Bianca then lay back on the couch, looking sad.
Dave casually rolled up his sleeves and said, “Maybe my boss knows something about her.”
Bianca quickly sat up, holding Dave’s arm, her eyes hopeful. “Does your boss know Sophia?”
Dave smiled knowingly. “He knows a lot of people. He might know something. But…” He raised an eyebrow. “Why should I help you? Didn’t you say we should live our own lives and not get involved with each other anymore?”
Bianca was speechless. How could he be so stubborn?
But she knew how to adapt. To get information about Sophia, she was ready to compromise, at least for now.
“Well… I was just upset when I said that,” Bianca said, narrowing her eyes playfully as she gently nudged Dave’s arm. “We’re friends, right? Please, do me this favor.”
Whenever Bianca turned on her charm, she looked innocent and attractive, her gentle and sweet personality almost irresistible.
Dave adjusted his collar and swallowed, finding it difficult to look away from Bianca’s endearing presence. But he managed to control his feelings.
“Okay, I’ll see what I can do to help. Just remember to thank me properly when I do.”
“Deal. When everything’s done, you can choose how you want to be thanked,” Bianca said confidently, patting her chest.
Dave raised an eyebrow and chuckled, taking out his phone.
Bianca watched as Dave quickly sent a message and got a reply. After reading it, he put his phone away.
He looked at Bianca and said, “Sophia really disappeared. Her husband, Gabriel Lee, owns a big company that trades internationally. He’s rich and loves horse riding. He invested in a club called Glory International Equestrian Club. You might find Sophia there.”
“Thank you, Mr. Evans. I’ll check it out tomorrow.”
In her excitement, Bianca jumped up from the couch, accidentally dropping her blanket to the floor. It revealed her attractive nightgown and graceful figure.
Feeling embarrassed, Bianca blushed and quickly went to her room, slamming the door shut.
Dave raised his eyebrows and chuckled softly.
He wondered why she was shy. He had seen her body before.
But he had to admit, that nightgown… was really sexy.

The next day, Bianca went to the Glory International Equestrian Club.
However, the staff there said that Gabriel Lee only used the VIP entrance and didn’t talk to people who weren’t part of his business.
There was one way to meet him, though.
The winner of the club’s monthly horse riding competition got a chance to meet Gabriel as a special guest.
The sport of horse riding was usually for rich people. Bianca’s mom came from a family of important officials, so Bianca had been riding horses since she was two. She was really good at it, and she even won a prize in a kids’ horse riding competition.
But after her parents got divorced, Bianca stopped riding horses.
“Can’t I meet Mr. Lee in any other way?”
“Sorry, Miss, that’s all I know.”
Bianca was determined not to give up. She paid a lot of money to join the club’s training program and practiced hard in her free time. Every day when she got home, she was exhausted and had sore muscles and bruises.
After a week of tough training and getting better, Bianca was really tired.
She got a bad cold and had a high fever. When she woke up, her head hurt a lot, and she was too dizzy to walk properly.
She had no choice but to ask for a day off work and plan to go to the hospital for medicine.
Dave had been really busy lately, leaving early and coming home late. Bianca hadn’t seen him for days.
After taking medicine for her fever, Bianca felt better. She got up and went to the hospital.
When Bianca left the doctor’s office, she saw someone she knew walking quickly through the hospital corridor.
It was Stacey.
Bianca wondered why Stacey was alone at the hospital.
Feeling like something wasn’t right, Bianca quietly decided to follow Stacey.
Bianca followed Stacey and saw her go into the gynecology department.
She paused for a moment, thinking.
Normally, Stacey would take Peter with her for prenatal visits to the obstetrics department.
But now, Stacey was going into gynecology alone. Was she thinking about ending her pregnancy?
Bianca realized what was happening. Stacey didn’t want Peter to find out the baby wasn’t his after it was born, so she was considering having an abortion.
Bianca hurriedly took some photos of Stacey leaving the department.
Once Stacey was gone, Bianca went up to the doctor Stacey had seen.
“Excuse me, I lost track of my friend who came to see you. Did she come here?”
“What’s your friend’s name?”
“Stacey Scott.”
The doctor checked and said, “She’s finished here. She’s at the pharmacy to get her prescription.”
“Thanks.” As Bianca was about to leave, she had a thought and asked, “How is my friend?”
The doctor didn’t hesitate. “She’s pregnant and getting an abortion, so she got medication for it.”
Bianca smirked. Her guess is right. Stacey probably wanted to pretend she lost the pregnancy to trick Peter.
Interesting.
Bianca was determined not to let it happen.
She was set on revealing Stacey’s affair when the baby was born as solid evidence of her cheating.
