(Epilogue)
*Freya*
I gazed down at my beautiful baby boy, Adonis Jackson, as he slept peacefully in his little cot. His tiny chest rose and fell with each breath, and his delicate eyelashes cast shadows on his rosy cheeks. My heart swelled with an overwhelming love that seemed almost too much to contain. Little Adonis was more than just our son; he was the living, breathing symbol of the love Rafe and I shared. Our love had been powerful enough to shatter a hundred-year-old curse, freeing the Crimson Pack from mystery and hatred.
As I watched him, I felt a sense of contentment wash over me. The Crimson Kingdom had known nothing but peace since Rafe made me his Luna. The people adored their baby prince, showering him with so many gifts that every corner of our home was filled with tokens of their affection. Soft blankets, carved wooden toys, and tiny garments embroidered with symbols of protection surrounded us.
A smile tugged at my lips as I thought about my friends. Addy, my dearest friend, had found her mate in none other than Daniel. Seeing them together brought back memories of simpler times and filled me with joy. Their love felt like an extension of the happiness that seemed to envelop everyone around us.
I gently stroked Adonis’s soft, downy hair, marveling at the way it curled around my fingers. I couldn’t help but think of all the love that surrounded us. Addy and Daniel’s wedding had been a joyous affair. From the moment they exchanged vows under the moonlit sky, I knew their union was destined. The connection between them had always been noticeable even before the mate curse was broken. I was extremely happy that they had found themselves and somehow made it work.
Jessica had also changed and found true love. After a few months, she and Connor had developed a connection and it wasn’t long before they mated with each other. He had vowed to care for Jessica’s baby, a promise he kept with unwavering dedication. Their love had blossomed into something so pure and it brought me immense joy to see them so content. If anyone had told me that i would be close friends with Jessica a year ago, I would have laughed at them. Destiny was a funny thing indeed.
“Your world is full of love, my little one,” I murmured to Adonis. “Everyone has found their perfect match.”
Training my witch powers had become a significant part of my life. With each lesson, I felt more in tune with the shadows, more connected to the ancient magic that flowed through my veins. Sersia had was my mentor, guiding me through the complexities of shadow magic and showing me how to harness its power for good. The peace between witches and werewolves was the proof of our efforts. Now witches could live in the crimson kingdom and not fear for their lives.
“One day, you’ll understand the significance of this peace,” I said softly, tracing the outline of Adonis’s tiny hand. “It’s what makes our kingdom strong.”
A shadow crossed my thoughts as I remembered Kelly. A pang of sadness hit me, the reminder of the pain her actions had caused. Rafe had sent her away to another pack, where she was reportedly serving a duke far away from here. I hoped she was finding some form of redemption, some path to a better life. Despite everything, I wished her well.
Adonis stirred, his little face scrunching up before letting out a small cry. My heart melted instantly. I scooped him up, cradling him close to my chest and swaying gently from side to side. His cries softened into little coos as I kissed his forehead.
“Shh, it’s alright, my darling. Mommy’s here.” I smiled, gazing down at his enchanting face. He looked so much like Rafe, with those piercing eyes and strong features. It was as if he carried a piece of his father within him, a constant reminder of the love we shared.
“You’re going to be just as strong and kind as your daddy,” I promised, feeling an overwhelming surge of emotion. Holding him close, I felt the weight of responsibility and love blend into a single, powerful force.
“Together, we’ll protect this peace,” I vowed, knowing that no matter what challenges lay ahead, we would face them together as a family.
As I rocked Adonis gently in my arms, his tiny fingers curling around a lock of my hair, the door creaked open behind me. Warm hands encircled my waist, pulling me close. I knew those hands anywhere.
“Rafe,” I said with a playful lilt, glancing over my shoulder but keeping my focus on Adonis. “What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be at your council meeting?”
“Those boring meetings,” he replied, resting his chin on my shoulder and pressing a kiss to my neck. “I couldn’t stop thinking about you two.”
His breath tickled my skin, and I couldn’t help the giggle that bubbled up from within me. I turned slightly to see him better, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “You know, one of these days they’re going to notice when you sneak out.”
“Let them,” he said with a mock-serious tone, peppering light kisses across my cheek. “I have more important matters to attend to here.”
“Is that so?” I teased, feeling warmth spread through me. His lips moved to my forehead, then my nose, and finally, they captured mine in a tender kiss. I pulled back just enough to look into his eyes, feeling the weight of his love wrap around me like a warm blanket.
“Absolutely,” he murmured against my skin. “You and Adonis are all I ever think about.”
“You’re such a charmer,” I laughed softly, feeling my cheeks flush. “But what if the kingdom falls apart without its mighty Alpha king?”
“Then we’ll rebuild it together, stronger than ever,” he promised, his voice filled with unwavering confidence. He kissed me again, deeper this time, as if sealing the vow with his very soul.
“Forever?” I whispered, my heart swelling with hope and love.
“Always,” he replied, his gaze never leaving mine. “I promise to love you forever, Freya.”
“And I promise to love you forever, Rafe,” I echoed, feeling the truth of those words settle deep into my bones.
In that moment, surrounded by the love of my life and our beautiful baby boy, I knew that no matter what the future held, we would face it together. We had broken curses, united the witches, and created a haven of peace. Our love was the foundation upon which everything else stood.
We were a family, bound by love and strength, destined to live a peaceful, happy life together.
THE END.
