Chapter 474: A Hundred Billion, Not as Valuable as Your Smile

“Is there a place for me in the Sharp’s Group? Don’t I have a place in your heart?”
Flynn smiled slightly, with a hint of mischief.
Rose was taken aback, then rolled her eyes and said, “Can’t you be serious for once? As long as Scarlet has a place for you in her heart, that’s enough for me!”
If any other man had joked like that, Rose would have been furious. But when Flynn said it, she couldn’t muster any anger.
Flynn laughed heartily and said, “Forget about splitting the profits; I’m not interested in money. A hundred billion is not even as valuable as your smile.”
“Actually, you look beautiful when you smile. If you could smile more often and be less cold, I’d be content.”
“I don’t need any promises from you. Just agree that no matter what happens after this business war, you’ll live well.”
“And if I can be a bit greedy, promise to get drunk with me when it’s all over.”
Rose looked into Flynn’s eyes and said firmly, “Alright! I promise you now! No matter what happens in the future, I’ll live well.”
“I also promise that when everything is settled, I’ll pour the wine myself and get drunk with you.”
“To heaven and earth, to our parents, to true friends, to the past, and to the future!”
After saying this, Rose felt a sudden rush of exhilaration. Although she couldn’t be sure of winning this business war, her conversation with Flynn brought about a change in her mindset. These changes were enough to make her move forward without hesitation.
Just like during the heat of battle when Flynn stood behind her and said, “I’ll block all the arrows for you; just stay behind me.”
Ten years of grievances, repression, unwillingness, and despair vanished in an instant. They were replaced by an endless fighting spirit. Even if they failed in the end, so what? She had given it her all and had no regrets.
Moreover, with Flynn by her side, this business war that would sweep across half of Ostrad would ultimately end in their hands.
“If Acebegron Clear Relief goes bankrupt and Braiden spends three hundred billion to cover it, the Swanson’s Group’s stock price will plummet and they will definitely go bankrupt.”
“If the alliance loses the Swanson’s Group, our threat will be reduced by more than half.”
“This battle will turn our defeat into victory and put us in a dominant position,” Rose analyzed.
The Swanson’s Group was controlled by the Swanson family with a 70% shareholding. Over the years, they had accumulated assets worth billions. However, these assets were not cash but valuations of all their properties. The Swanson’s Group currently had at most two hundred billion in liquid funds. If they went bankrupt, they would collapse immediately.
“With the Swanson’s Group out of the picture, we will have much less pressure and more options to end this business war,” Flynn said with a cunning glint in his eye.
Rose raised an eyebrow but didn’t ask further questions since Flynn seemed reluctant to explain. She nodded and said, “Let’s take it step by step and focus on the present.”
Flynn felt relieved hearing this and smiled without saying anything further. He sensed a change in Rose-she was no longer eager to reclaim the five lost companies but had adopted a calmer approach.
“Dragon Creek Society’s recruitment event is about to start; should we grab something to eat at the company cafeteria first?” Rose asked.
Flynn shook his head and said, “What’s interesting about eating at the cafeteria? Can’t we eat well at the recruitment event?”
Rose narrowed her eyes slightly and said coldly, “I’m afraid someone doesn’t want us to eat there.”
She lacked confidence in this recruitment event. Lilia and Layla were members of Dragon Creek Society; with them pulling strings inside, Braiden was likely to emerge victorious.
“Layla and Lilia?” Flynn chuckled and reassured her: “Don’t worry. Since you want to join Dragon Creek Society, I’ll make sure it happens.”
Rose frowned slightly at Flynn’s confidence and asked: “Did you find someone to help?”
“To be precise, Bobby found me,” Flynn said nonchalantly. “I didn’t want to bother with him initially but remembered your wish to join Dragon Creek Society. So I asked him for help.”
“Mr. Sheppard approached you?” Rose was both shocked and surprised.
Bobby was Pelens’ richest man and president of Dragon Creek Society; his family’s wealth was twice that of the Swanson family at two trillion dollars. Their influence ranked among the top five in Shipmeda State. With Dragon Creek Society under his control, one word from him could shake Shipmeda State’s business circle.
Flynn’s connections were vast indeed. And Bobby sought him out?
“Alright then, let’s hurry up; I want to try their buffet,” Flynn said with a faint smile as he walked out of the office.
Rose stopped probing further and followed him out.
They drove Flynn’s Porsche towards their destination.
Dragon Creek Society had over twenty members-all prominent business figures from various industries across Shipmeda State. For instance:
– Phillip Mcguire from Zeusbite Investments controlled over ten billion-dollar companies.
– Rory Lewis from Redcloud Technology owned three tech companies and a tech incubator.
– Vihaan Hewson from Phoenix Dynasty Entertainment owned over three hundred cinemas and a film production company.
– Oakley Stevens from Giant God Heavy Industries produced heavy excavators sold worldwide.
These billionaires chose Celestia Estate in Niarak’s western suburb for their recruitment event-a place known for its reputation rather than luxury but unmatched in fame, cuisine quality, privacy-and top-notch service provided by graduates from prestigious universities fluent in multiple languages.
When Flynn arrived at Celestia Estate’s entrance already crowded with journalists; Niarak’s elite families; wealthy heirs; socialites; even entrepreneurs from neighboring cities-all eager to witness who would join Dragon Creek Society today.
“This year’s recruitment has three candidates: Rose from Energence Pharmaceuticals; Braiden from Swanson’s Group; Killian Ramsey from Laiya Cosmetics-I bet Braiden will win,” someone speculated among onlookers discussing today’s event while believing Braiden had already secured membership due to his alliance with Layla & Lilia plus Acebegron Clear Relief’s success.
Braiden overheard these comments & turned smilingly towards Layla & Lilia saying: “Acebegron Clear Relief is quite famous-I hear about it everywhere I go these days.”
“With your support plus Acebegron Clear Relief’s reputation-membership in Dragon Creek Society is mine!”
