“Darius” A voice roared, “You better come back here boy”. A ten-year-old boy slammed a door open, he looked like he was running away from something, although his leg was injured, and he was unsteady on the right side of his leg due to the pain. He had no wolf, he wasn’t like the average werewolf off springs who would be able to heal despite not being of age where they could shift.
Struggling as he ran, not stopping at all, fearing that the person would catch up to him and he would have to go through something worse. All of a sudden he feels himself bump into someone and falls to the ground, wincing in pain.
“Darius” a soft voice calls out his name in confusion, looking up from the ground, his eyes meet a pair of warm ocean-blue eyes filled with worry. Her eyes took in his injured body, from his hands that had fresh wounds and slash markings, to his wrists that looked like he was tied down to something tightly, with his clothes tattered and barely hanging on by the end.
Luna Alana was shocked seeing his bloodied body. Her brows furrowed in worry. She kneeled so that she could reach his level, placing her hands softly on his thin and bony shoulders. About to ask him what had happened, just then both of them could hear a pair of thunderous footsteps heading towards their direction, Alana looked up, her eyes meeting a pair of cold dark eyes.
“What happened here?” Alana asks her mate, the Alpha curiously.
A sneer fills his face as he looks at Darius’ figure hiding behind Alana, his dark gaze moves towards Alana, and she flinches as their gazes meet. Alana had a slight understanding of what might’ve happened. She wasn’t a stranger to his abusive and violent side. There had often been times when she had been the one to be his punching bag, just thinking about those times made her body tremble, but she had to be brave, if she were to show any weakness, how would she be able to protect Darius?!
“You stay out of my business Alana.” he spits out his words “Darius” his dark gaze trained on the shaking figure behind Alana. “You better come out yourself, or I will come there myself and drag you back.”
Seeing Darius’ unmoving frame and Alana’s protective frame in front of him, the Alpha gets angrier, his dark gaze turning pitch black, without waiting a second he heads towards where Alana and Darius stand. He takes hold of Darius’ arm, and at the same time Alana tries to break free of his grip on Darius, even if her strength compared to his was unmatched, that doesn’t stop her from trying to free Darius.
Filled with rage, he pushes Alana’s frail frame to the side, although he didn’t mean to hurt her much, the force and strength combined caused Alana to be thrown to the side with such force that she felt herself falling towards the side, her head hitting violently against the wooden coffee table that was placed at one side of the room. Her head hit the sharp edge of it.
Thinking that she would soon wake up, the Alpha takes hold of Darius and pulls him towards his office.
“Mom” Darius shouts, seeing Alana’s unmoving figure lying on the ground, he watches as a liquid thick and dark in colour slowly paints her frame. His breath hitches, it isn’t until Darius starts trashing in his arms does the Alpha take notice.
He releases his hold on Darius, slowly walking towards his mate’s unmoving frame.
“Alana,” he says, for the first time in his life with such tenderness. Darius immediately rushes to Alana’s side.
Crouching down the Alpha slowly places his mate’s head on his lap, her blood staining his clothes and hands. His wolf whimpering inside him, not being able to feel his mate bond anymore. His dark eyes darkened even more.
“Mom” a voice whispered, Adryan’s eyes filling with tears as he took in the horror before him. His mother’s unmoving frame was in his father’s arm, the crimson blood of hers painting half of her body as her body slowly started to pale. His ocean blue eyes snapped towards Darius, who was staring back at him, a strange emotion swimming in those ocean blue eyes, Darius didn’t know it back then, but that moment was the beginning of his end.

Everything changed after that day, things went back to how it was before Luna Alana had helped him out. The bullying became worse, and most of the pack members blamed him for Luna’s death. Darius had tried approaching Adryan multiple times, but his attempts were futile…. Darius started feeling like he was back to that hell.

Darius winced as it even hurt him to breathe, his ribs hurt as it felt like one of his organs had punctured or was bleeding. he lay on the ground, his body bloodied from yet another torture he faced at the hands of the alpha. His eyes seem to be in a trance as they look into nothingness, suddenly a face appears before him. A woman with gentle ocean blue eyes and her hair a midnight black, her mouth stretched out in a smile. A smile adorns his face upon seeing her.
“Mom, where are you?” He whispered as tears streamed down his face. The only two people who cared about him, aren’t with him any more. Darius lay motionless, his injuries remained untreated as his breath came out in small breaths, his heartbeat slowing down as he succumbed to his injuries.

Jade dreamed glimpses of Darius’ life, and what he went through to end up where he is today. How hours after dying he was revived, as his vampire side which was dormant for eleven years of his human life came through.
How he pushed through at the pack house for 2 more years and at the age of thirteen, he willingly left the pack house after he watched the alpha being killed by his own flesh and blood Adryan in a duel for the Alpha position at the age of sixteen. He rebuilt the fallen vampire kingdom, but what constantly felt like watching a glimpse of his life was how throughout his whole life, he always felt lonely and unaccomplished, until he met her, his mate.
