Brendon gently blew air onto her nose, the warm breath felt like a fire touching her skin, causing Ranita’s soul to tremble and her back to stiffen.
Nervously swallowing, Ranita felt a rush of heat in her head, making it impossible to think.
“You…”
Her voice got stuck in her throat as she watched him kiss her nose.
“Does it still hurt?” Brendon asked softly.
Looking into her eyes, like a cluster of bright fire.
Brendon was really good at this.
Ranita’s already muddled mind turned into mush, unable to think straight anymore.
She stared at the man with wide eyes, looking foolish.
“Why aren’t you saying anything?” Seeing Ranita’s dumbfounded expression, a hidden smile flashed in Brendon’s eyes as he tilted his head and said, “Is it too painful?”
Ranita blushed at his words and grabbed his hand, pulling it down. “Don’t get so close.”
“Let go of my hand.”
Ranita stepped back, annoyed. “Why are you doing this in public…”
Before she could finish her sentence, Ranita was pulled back again, and Brendon held her waist, rendering her unable to move.
“Don’t step back, be careful not to fall.” Brendon’s voice remained calm, but there was a hint of laughter in his tone. Irritated, she gritted her teeth and said, “What are you laughing at?”
Brendon stopped pretending and laughed out loud. “Why are you so silly!”
Ranita forgot that she was still being held and angrily said, “You’re the silly one! I am a top student at Kurima Foreign Studies University!”
“Well, you’re amazing.” Brendon thought for a moment and nodded seriously.
Rolling her eyes internally, Ranita thought he took too long to compliment her.
“Where do you want to eat?” Brendon asked.
Ranita lowered her eyes. “Just say it already, can you let go of me first?”
Brendon held onto her hand. “If I let go, you’ll run away.”
“I won’t run away.” Ranita glared at Brendon with annoyance. “We’re not that close… let go.”
Brendon pursed his lips. “I’m sorry for arguing with you earlier.”
Ranita looked away, feeling both sour and sweet in her heart.
Deep down, Ranita felt a bit conflicted. On one hand, she wanted to stay away from Brendon, but on the other hand, she couldn’t help but be drawn closer to him and didn’t want to let go.
“If I say I don’t want to eat, will you finally let go?”
“Yes!” Brendon nodded. “Don’t you like the South Slioclia cuisine at Bright Moon? You haven’t been back to Kurima for years, let’s go there for dinner.”
Ranita pursed her lips again.
He actually remembered that she liked the South Slioclia cuisine at Bright Moon? This damn man had some conscience after all. She didn’t really have any particular food preferences because her mind was focused solely on Brendon. She was a good wife at Boulderland Mansion, a helpful assistant at Stuart Group, and a competent personal assistant outside. Everything was arranged perfectly.
Eve used to say that she was like Brendon’s full-time nanny.
Ranita thought she wasn’t wrong. In her eyes and heart, there was no room for anyone else except Brendon. She humbly and pitifully begged him to look at her, to remember her, and to fall in love with her…
There were too many obstacles at that time, and too many things that were hard to express.
“Ranita, daydreaming again?” A low voice came, bringing Ranita back to reality. “I’m hungry, let’s go eat.”
Ranita couldn’t resist Brendon’s persuasion.
Actually, why did Ranita prefer Bright Moon? It was because that was the place where Brendon took her for their first meal together.
