“What’s the matter?”
The assistant asked, coming to the front to block her way.
Rosiley walked quickly towards them. She nodded and made her words clear, “I just heard that Mr. Lu need a bride for his marriage. I wonder if I could be your bride?”
“Parden?”
The assistant was shocked.
Sachin obviously did not expect the bold actions of this woman. He gave a glance to her with his cold eyes.
When he noticed that she was wearing a wedding dress, there seemed to be a flame of light in his eyes as he was a bit astonished.
Rosiley felt a bit nervous being stared at.
Although she pretended to be leisured and confident, she was not sure if he would accept her proposal.
Sachin was rich and has a prominent family background. There must be thousands of women who wanted date with him, and she couldn’t be the best choice among them. As a result, she didn’t expect him to really accept her propose.
The air was in silence for a moment. After a while, Sachin asked, “Where have your fiance gone?”
“He went on a date with someone else. I happened to hear your talk and I suppose if you’re struggling with whom to choose, I can be your choice. Please do not worry. I will cook and do the wash, and I am very caring and understanding. I will be a good wife——I will keep distance with other men and be loyal to our marriage. I will take good care of my husband and do what a wife should do.”
She winked and smiled at him, as she was talking about the weather but nothing serious.
The assistant who has been stood beside finally got his mind back as he looked at her with scorn.
Teaming up for a wedding? How ridiculous!
Although the fact that she had broken up with her fiance was really a pity, he couldn’t let her to ask for a wedding to Mr. Lu.
“I’m sorry, Miss, but Mr. Lu has…”
As he was about to refuse her, Sachin gave a sign and stopped him.
The assistant stunned and before he could react, Sachin squinted and stared at Rosiley for a while and finally said, “Well, all right. Then you’ll be my bride.”
Didn’t he just say yes to her?
Rosiley couldn’t believe what she heard.
He accepted without any other questions.
Isn’t it too fast?
And she was clearly not the only one who was shocked.
“Sir, I suppose it’s not the right way. We do not even know her identity. It will be better if we could first investigate her before we make the decision, isn’t it?”
He reacted quickly as to suggest Sachin considerate the circumstances more carefully.
He knew that now there are too many women after wealth, and it was hard to tell if Rosiley was one of them. And as she called this man Mr. Lu at the first place, it was obvious that she had known who he was. The propose might be a trick and their marriage might not be what she really aimed at.
“Thanks, but unnecessary.”
Sachin said with a tone as he didn’t care the things at all. He stared at Rosiley, “You cannot regret your decision as long as you get married with me. Do you understand?”
“Yes. I will not regret my decision.”
Rosiley nodded with serious, as she had made up her mind.
“Did you bring your residence booklet?”
Instead of talking in a roundabout way, Sachin straightly gets into the point as he always acted.
“I suppose no.” Rosiley froze for a second and shook her head.
Sachin raised his wrist and looked at his watch. “You now go and take yours. We meet an hour later at the Civil Affairs Bureau. Any questions?”
“No.” She spoke without hesitating.
“Good. Now, Lane, you drive her home.” Sachin said to the assistant who stood behind him.
Lane couldn’t speak a word.
……
After about an hour, Rosiley and Sachin quickly completed their registration of marriage at the Civil Affair Bureau.
Coming out of there, Rosiley held the red booklets in her hand. She felt as she was dreaming.
From now on, she had become someone’s wife. Although her husband was different from who he supposed to be, it didn’t matter much to her.
“I wonder if I may talk to you, Mr. Lu.”
Rosiley suddenly called the man stop, who was walking in front of her.
“Of course.”
Sachin raised his eyebrows and agreed.
They went to a cafe nearby. They sat opposite to each other.
“So, what’s up?” Sachin directly went to the point after sitting down.
“It might be a little bit presumptuous, but I would like to ask for a promise from you.”
Her voice sounded unconfident.
After all, they had just married each other, and it was obviously too early to ask for promises.
“You may tell me what it is.”
Sachin frowned slightly but didn’t reveal an obvious state of displease.
Rosiley felt at least a bit relief. She took her heart of grace and said, “Could you please not disclose our marriage to the public at this time? I still have lots of private stuffs to deal with, and I wish that these stuffs will not affect you. And of course, you may do whatever you want. I promise that I will not interfere with your life.”
As her words were over, there was an unpredictable flame appeared in his eyes, which made it hard for her to tell from his face that what he was thinking about.
He spoke after a while, “I may accept your request. But I have my rules as well.”
“Yes,” she replied, nodding her head heavily.
“First, you have to move to my house and live with me. I suppose you’ve already known that it’s the basic to maintain our marriage. Secondly, I have my concerns as well, which means that I may disclose our relationship and your identity as long as I think it’s necessary. You should not reject my decision.”
“Yes, of course.”
As he accepted her ask, she had no reasons to refuse his.
As their talk was over, Rosiley left quickly.
Just the moment she walked out of the cafe, Lane came in. He looked at Sachin and said, “Sir, I would still say that it will be better if we investigate her.”
Usually, Sachin would have asked him to investigate a woman like this, and so he wonders why he doesn’t for this time and even stops him from doing so.
It’s totally strange!
“Investigation, of course. I need to know why she would ask a stranger to get married with her.”
Sachin pinched his lips, as if he was considering something.
“Yes, sir. I will have the results for you as quick as possible. But I wonder if…”
“If?”
“I wonder if you have met her before, sir.”
Otherwise it would be unreasonable for him to accept a woman’s proposal without any questions.
Sachin didn’t answer his question. He watched in the direction where Rosiley had disappeared, smiled significantly and said, “You should have called her Mrs. Lu! “
