Chapter 66

Davina’s Pov:-
I moved closer and tried to get a clear picture of the thing moving in the woods. The figure was so thin and the way it was moving made it seem as if it was running away from something. I quickly turned around and made my way towards the door, I opened it and walked out of the room.
I made my way hurriedly towards the stairs and climbed down quickly. By the time I reached the woods, I was sweating and breathing hard. It was dark and I couldn’t find the person I saw before. I quickly began to walk in the direction I saw it running earlier. As I was walking with bare feet, the darkness around me wasn’t allowing me to see what’s ahead of me. I tripped over something and fell flat on my nose,
“Ouch,” I hissed in pain, “Fuck, I should’ve brought a flashlight with me,” I said while trying to stand up from the ground.
I stood up and brushed the dust off my clothes and began to walk carefully, it was chilling out here. Every time the cold breeze touched my bare skin, my body shivered terribly. I wrapped my hands around me and began to rub them against my skin. As I kept walking, I found myself walking deeper and deeper into the woods.
The sounds of my footsteps and wind were the only sounds I could hear.
“Where is this person?” I thought while looking around,
As I was about to turn, a glimpse of something white caught my attention. I turned my body in its direction and took a hesitating step towards it.
What’s that? I thought as I made my way towards it. I gulped hard as I moved closer to it and realised that it was a woman. She was laying down on the ground on her stomach.
Who is she? I thought and moved slowly towards her,
Her hair was covering her face and looking at the way she was laying on the ground, I think she fell unconscious. My eyes scanned her body and a gasp left my lips, I covered my mouth with my hands as I stared at her extremely thin body.
This is not normal, I have never in my entire life saw someone so thin. There was no flesh at all, she was just a bag of bones. I quickly bent down to my knees and pushed her hair away from her face, Her cheek has bluish-green bruises, I placed my hands on her shoulder and slowly turned her body.
As I turned her around, a loud gasp escaped my lips and I quickly moved back and away from her.
“Jesus,” I whispered as I stared at her in shock, my breathing went unstable as I swallowed hard and controlled my tears.
“Oh my god” tears rolled down my eyes as I stared at her face.
Her face was filled with bruises and it was horrible to look at, her cheekbones and swollen lips and blood-filled nose, her face was completely destroyed and yet I recognised who she is. Her once beautiful face was destroyed beyond repair,
“Olivia!” I breathed out while covering my mouth in pure shock.
By looking at her condition it was clear that something extremely bad had happened to her. Tears kept streaming down my eyes as I stared at her unconscious body laying on the ground, everything that happened in my past rushed to my brain and my body just froze.
What should I do now? I thought as I stared at her,
No, don’t let your emotions blind you, Davina, I thought while closing my eyes.
She needs your help, my subconscious said,
Help her!
I took a deep breath and moved to her, “Olivia,” I began calling her name while trying to get her up from the ground but she wasn’t responding at all. I quickly checked her pulse by pressing my finger on her neck, I felt her heartbeat and relief washed over me as I felt it.
“Thank god,” I said to myself while I placed her bony hand around my shoulder and wrapped my arm around her small waist. I pulled her up way too easily, she’s too light and it’s unhealthy from my experience.
I looked around while holding her, “Where should I head?” I whispered and blindly began to move straight ahead. I kept walking and walking while holding her but I could nowhere see the mansion. All I saw was woods and thick woods.
“God,” I looked around and tried to locate the mansion but I couldn’t, my legs hurt terribly.
Jesus! What should I do now, I can’t even call for help.
I kept walking and walking, “Oh god!” I stopped and tried to take deep breaths. As I looked around, I saw the top of the mansion to my right. A big smile formed on my lips, I quickly began to make my way towards the mansion while holding her. I don’t know how Arthur will react after seeing her but that was my least concern now, I have to save her and find who did this to her and what is she doing here, on this island? And Is Allen with her here? There are a lot of questions running in my head and I have to find answers to them no matter what.
I reached the main door of the mansion and stepped inside, the living room was dark and quiet. I tried to be as quiet as possible while I walked through the living room. Where should I take it? Since April is in my room, I can’t take her there. Should I take her to Arthur’s room? Jesus! I don’t know how he’ll react when he sees me with her?
No, you shouldn’t worry about that, You should worry about his reaction when he sees his ex-fiancee in this condition! I’m sure he’ll react historically, My subconscious remarked.
Who wouldn’t, her condition is horrible. I replied,
how can someone do this to her! However did this to her, he should be behind bars and get punished for what he did to her.
As I slowly began to climb the stairs, different scenarios of Arthur’s anger flashed in front of my eyes.
“How dare you do this to her,” he said through his teeth while glaring at me and holding her in his arms,
“No, No, I didn’t do anything to her,” I said while shaking my head and crying hysterically,
“Shut up! You’re a lier, get the hell out of my house,” He said and shut the door on my face,
I shook my head, “No, No, he wouldn’t do that” I said to myself and continued to climb the stairs. I walked through the empty and dark hallway with great difficulty and reached his room. I raised my shaking hand and knocked on his door.
Jesus Christ, my hands hurt.
I hope he’ll save her without keeping any grudges from his past, Although from his past behaviours, I’m getting a lot of negative thoughts about his reactions but there was a little hope somewhere deep inside me, telling me, that he would help her.
I don’t know what I’ll do if he refuses to help her and find who’s behind this.
I slowly raised my hand up and knocked again, before I could knock again he opened the door. When my eyes landed on him, my throat went dry. He was shirtless and was wearing only his sweatpants which hung low, I quickly looked away from his naked chest and moved my eyes up to his face.
“Arthur,” I said while holding her with great difficulty,
His eyes moved to Olivia, “Who’s she?” he asked while looking at her with a suspicious look, “And… What happened to her?” He added,
“She… um!” I hesitated but as I moved the hair away from her face, his face features began to change from suspicious to shock.
“Olivia!”
