Arthur’s Pov:-
“What!” I yelled in shock,

“They’re in hospital…” Without listening to him, I began running towards the main door. I ran to the parking lot, my heart was beating rapidly against my ribcage in anxiety. Coop followed me and quickly unlocked the car and slipped into the driver’s seat while I was climbing into the passenger’s one.

“Drive, Drive, Drive,” I yelled while putting my seat belt on, he quickly started the engine and drove us out of the mansion.

God! Please please please let them be okay! Please jesus.

I kept watching out of the window impatiently while tapping my fingers on my knees, “I should have stopped her,” I mumbled while running my fingers through my hair while biting my lower lip in tension.

Jesus, help them please.

“Mr. Spencer,” I heard him calling, I turned to look at him and saw him signalling me to look out of my window.

I turned and glanced at the direction he was pointing, my eyes widened when I saw a car completely flipped and was full on fire laying beside the road.

“Jesus,” I whispered while looking at it.

“Is that where it happened?” I asked him, he nodded his head in response.

“Drive faster,” I said as the anxiety inside me increased.

Nothing will happen to them, I won’t let anything happen to them.

We reached the hospital, and as soon as he stopped the car, I climbed out of the car and rushed inside. Coop led me to the ICU ward she was kept in, I walked over and peeped through the mirror and saw doctors cleaning her wounds.

She was covered with bandages, laying on the bed like a doll and machines were attached to her. My heart clenched as I stared at her condition,

“I’m so sorry,” I whispered while placing my hand on the mirror while staring at her. Tears began to roll in my eyes.

April?

I turned back, “Where is April?” I asked, he pointed at the ward next to Davina, I walked over there and saw April laying on the bed with an oxygen mask on, she didn’t have any bandages on her which meant maybe she wasn’t injured the way Davina was.

I moved back and waited for the doctor to come out so that I could ask him about them. The more I wait the more I get anxious to know their condition. The guilt inside had begun to increase more and more, the pain in my chest was becoming unbearable.

I leaned my back to the wall in front of the door of the ward Davina was kept in, I kept staring at it impatiently.

Jesus christ, just help her please… I promise, I will say sorry to her once she wakes up.

The sound of the door opening and footsteps coming out of the ward pulled me back, I quickly moved over to the doctor who stepped out.

“Mr. Spencer,” he acknowledged me, “Is the patient inside…” he began but I cut him off,

“She’s my girlfriend, Is she alright?” I asked in an impatient tone.

He released a breath with a sad look, “She has lost so much blood and has injuries… we have to put her in observation… tonight is very crucial to her,” he said and placed his hand on my shoulder.

I clearly understood what he meant by that, “Ca-Can I see her,” I asked in a shaky voice,

“Yeah, you can but make sure you don’t disturb her…” he said,

“Ap-April?” I asked,

“She’s fine, she just had minor injuries and went unconscious in shock,” he said while glancing at April.

“Who are her parents? We have to inform them!” he said, I glanced at Coop, he quickly nodded his head and rushed out.

“We will inform them!” I replied, he nodded his head at me and walked away.

I walked inside while staring at her sleeping form, the sounds of the machine’s beeping filled the silent room. I slowly placed the chair near her bed and sat down on it. I took her hand in mine and moved it to my lips,

“I’m so sorry,” I whispered while placing a kiss on the back of her hand.

“This is all my fault,” I didn’t notice the tears rolling down my cheek until they fell on her hand.

“I should have stopped you, I shouldn’t have fought with you earlier, I’m sorry,” I said in a broken voice. I kept kissing her hand and let my tears flow.

“Mr. Spencer,” I felt someone’s hand on my shoulder,

I opened my eyes and found myself laying my head on the bed, “Yes,” I replied while moving back, and turning to the person behind me.

Ben stared at me with a worried look, “Ben?” I asked while staring at him in surprise, “What are you doing here?”

“Coop called me and said about the accident,” He replied while sitting on the chair placed beside me.

“Don’t worry, She’ll be okay,” he said while placing his hand over my shoulder and squeezing it. I didn’t reply and just kept staring at her. She looked so pale and weak.

“I want to know how this happened!” I said, “I want the person who did this to her!” I added and turned to look at him. He nodded his head and got up from the chair.

“One more thing!” I said and turned to him, he stopped in his tracks and turned to me, “April’s Parents… Do you know them?” I asked,

“The file I gave Davina has the details of them,” he informed,

The file and the way she didn’t let me see it flashed in front of my eyes. The last time I saw it was when I carried her to my room. She must have kept it somewhere in my room. If she didn’t want me to know who her parents were, she would definitely hide it from me! Where can she hide it? I thought.

The best place to find something would be the closet, most of the time people hide things under clothes.

“Ask Coop to search my closet for the file, especially the drawers,” I said, nodding his head and walking out of the room, leaving me alone with Davina. I stared at her face while tons of questions rushed to my mind.

Why didn’t she want me to know April’s parents? Why Davina?
