After completing the talisman seal, Leo walked to the incense table and lit three sticks of incense. Then, he found an old earthenware bowl filled with rice from the ground.
In the mourning hall, it was customary to place two bowls of rice to appease wandering spirits that were attracted by the deceased’s aura, so as not to disturb the soul’s journey to the underworld.
Leo inserted three long incense sticks into the positions of Dui, Gen, and Xun, around the coffin.
After completing these tasks, Leo held the bowl in his left hand and took a small amount of rice in his right hand, kneading it into small balls. He then stuck these rice balls at intervals of thirty centimeters along the middle of the coffin.
It took about five or six minutes for Leo to finish sticking the rice balls around the coffin.
He placed the earthenware bowl back in its original position and walked to the head of the coffin, gripping the lower part of the coffin lid with both hands.
Bending down, Leo slowly lifted his hands.
As a “click, click, click” sound echoed, the faces of the people standing silently nearby changed.
It should be noted that the coffin was already sealed with six three-foot nails, making it extremely difficult for even four or five people to open it with their strength alone.
With a final “crack” sound, Leo completely opened the coffin lid.
Pushing the lid aside, a slightly strong odor of decay emanated from the coffin.
Since Georgia had not been dead for long and had just been placed in the coffin, Leo wouldn’t have been able to bear the smell if it had been any longer.
With the dim light of an incandescent bulb, Leo leaned over and looked inside the coffin.
Georgia’s eyes were closed, her face already stiff, and livor mortis had appeared on her cheeks and hands.
Although Georgia’s son also wanted to see his mother, Leo had instructed him not to do so. Therefore, he could only kneel quietly in front of his mother’s portrait, suppressing his desire.
Georgia’s body appeared normal, but one small detail caught Leo’s attention.
While Georgia’s left hand was open, her right hand was clenched as if she were holding something.
With his Divine Awareness sweeping over it, Leo understood.
Indeed, there was something in Georgia’s right hand, and it was emitting strange fluctuations.
Leo approached the coffin and reached out his hand.
Georgia’s body was already stiff, and her right hand was tightly clenched. Normally, it would be extremely difficult to open it with just one hand.
But for Leo, it was not a problem. He easily opened Georgia’s right hand and took out what was inside.
It was a blood-red jade stone, flat and round in shape, resembling a blood jade.
Closing the coffin lid, Leo walked up to Georgia’s son and helped him stand up from the ground. He then handed him the blood-red jade stone and asked, “Have you seen this before?”
Georgia’s son carefully examined it and replied, “Yes, my mother found this a month ago on Front Car Mountain. She thought it was a valuable treasure and kept it with her. On the day she died, she tightly held onto this thing. Dr. Bloomer, what is this?”
“A bad omen,” Leo simply replied and instructed, “At three o’clock tomorrow afternoon, your mother must be buried on time. Remember that.”
Georgia’s son was well aware of Leo’s abilities and didn’t ask any further questions. He nodded solemnly.
After leaving Georgia’s house, Leo set off alone for Front Car Mountain.
Madame originally wanted to accompany him, but Leo was afraid of encountering danger and not being able to take care of her in time. So he decisively asked her to wait for his news in the village.
Arriving at the cliff near the entrance to the ancient tomb on Front Car Mountain.
Leo crouched down and looked down, only to see a solid cliff face with no sign of a tomb entrance.
Standing up, a cold smile appeared on Leo’s face as he took out the blood-red jade stone.
Quickly forming seals with his left hand, he tapped the blood-colored jade stone in his right hand. With a flicker of light, Leo disappeared from his original position.
When Leo reappeared, he was already inside the stone passage leading to the ancient tomb.
“Just as I thought,” Leo muttered to himself.
His guess was correct; this blood-colored jade stone was indeed related to something inside the tomb. By using its aura connection, he could use his Escape Technique to enter the tomb.
As for why the original entrance to the tomb had disappeared, it must have been the work of whatever was inside the tomb.
Without hesitation, Leo moved forward along the dimly lit stone passage.
A strong smell of death greeted him, but his Spiritual Power protected him from being affected by it.
Leo extended his Divine Awareness to a distance of five or six meters and slowly continued forward.
He wanted to see what exactly was causing trouble in this tomb.
There used to be a stone wall separating the entrance from the main tomb chamber. However, after Leo broke through it last time, its function disappeared as well.
Although it was pitch black in the passage, it posed no problem for Leo.
He took out a low-level Fireball Talisman from his body and activated it to provide illumination. The passage immediately became bright under the light of the fireball.
In the glow of the fireball, everything in the passage became clear.
Leo continued forward without encountering any abnormalities or even feeling the anticipated sense of danger.
Without any sense of danger, Leo’s footsteps quickened involuntarily.
Passing through an ear chamber without stopping, Leo headed straight towards the main tomb chamber.
The main tomb chamber was located at the core position of Front Car Mountain and was also where the tomb’s most mysterious elements resided.
Directly beneath the blood pool in the main tomb chamber was a branch of Dragon Vein. If something had occupied this tomb, it would only be inside the main tomb chamber.
Approaching the main tomb chamber, Leo spread out his Divine Awareness but sensed no unusual aura or any abnormal fluctuations. It felt as if he were alone in the entire tomb.
Standing outside the entrance to the main tomb chamber, Leo paused.
His gaze fell upon the door, and an expression of realization appeared on his face.
The stone door of the main tomb chamber bore some inscriptions that seemed random at first glance. But under Divine Awareness, these inscriptions took on a different meaning-an ancient aura emanated from them.
Leo took a step forward and touched the stone door with his right hand while activating his Spiritual Power within him.
His right hand touching the stone door emitted a greenish glow. In response, the inscriptions on the stone door changed.
The originally red lines turned black as a tremendous force tried to shake off Leo’s right hand.
With a surge of Spiritual Power from Leo’s impact, cracks appeared on the stone door.
The cracks rapidly expanded as Leo withdrew his right hand. Three seconds later, the entire stone door shattered and collapsed.
Almost at the same moment as the stone door shattered, a dark figure rushed towards Leo.
