Chapter 45

Book:Wanting Her Back Published:2024-6-8

“It is like I am suddenly yearning a big meal,” Lyka murmured, her brows furrowing as she spoke. While incessantly whining, she wiped the tissue from her face on a regular basis. As I listened to her ranting, I was just shaking my head.
“It is hot! Tsk, it is a bothersome day,” she said, fanning herself with her hands. “It all happened at the same time, the hot weather and our professor”s nerve-wracking lecture added to it.”
I had a good giggle at what she said. Actually, she had been ranting about things in the past, such as why she thought it was alright that the sun was now so scorching.
I laughed and informed her, “Tsk, you were just upset at our Professor earlier, eh?”
When she heard what I said, her cheeks suddenly reddened.
“Do you really need to remind me of that annoyance Professor, Anna?” she asked, and her expression was unmistakable. Because of her reaction, I could not help but laugh out loud.
“Why, what am I doing to you?” I said it with a smile on my face.
Lyka”s eyes widened as she looked at me. She rolled her eyes at me after she had barely pulled my hair.
To his annoyance, he added, “Why am I always the one who is bullied by that small man?”
“That Professor is unpleasant.” Even if she did not want to think about the Professor, she appeared to be here while saying that.
“You do not want that?” I asked in a soft voice. “Besides, Prof. Cruz appears to be harmless.”
Lyka”s face got more irritated rather than happy at the prospect of someone like her. She appears to be enraged.
“If you do not stop annoying me, Anna,” she adds, her brows furrowing as she says this. “I am really going to kick you here if you do not stop annoying me, Anna.” Because she was so enraged at our Professor, it was nearly impossible to paint her face.
“I am not sure about that old man, but maybe he is enraged because I did not obey him once, and that is probably why he is making me a laughing stock.” Lyka yelled angrily.
I kept my mouth shut while she rants about how much she despises the Professor. I try to keep my laughs to a minimum.
“Perhaps I just have a crush on you, sir,” I told her with seriousness. Lyka was furious with me. She gave me a piercing glare with a twitchy mouth.
I smirked and closed my mouth as if it were a zipper. She looks at me with a scowl. I just kept my mouth shut and did not go on with my plan to bother her.
I tried my hardest not to smile, but I could not. The idea that our professor adores Lyka makes me laugh out loud. I am referring to our professor, who was always furrowed brows and bald.
Our professor, Professor Cruz, is a relatively young man.
She was able to answer the question that our professor had given her, and when he applauded her for successfully answering the question, our block mates teased Lyka that our old and severe Professor liked her because she was able to answer the question correctly. Lyka is now irritated since our Professor is with her. If someone irritates her again this time, I am sure she will go after them with a vengeance.
Today, someone is coming to see you. I am sure it is because she is having menstruation today that she is easily irritated. Lyka is naturally irritated, but it is simply too much right now.
As we strolled along the hallway of our department building, her hands were gripped on mine.
I invited her to my favorite hangout spot on campus, which is behind the school. She pulled me over and we were on our way to the University”s main campus at the same moment.
As I breathed in the fresh air, I grinned. I smiled as I sat on the grass with my bag and two books on it.
Because of the carpet grass, I am confident that my uniform will not get dirty. As I laid my back against the luxuriant trunk, my smile never faded. When I see my fatigued body”s expression in the tree, I breathe a sigh of relaxation.
I feel as if I am being dragged away by the tree”s embrace. I closed my eyes and breathed in the fresh air.
Lyka was also seated on the grass when I heard her. When the cool breeze hit my face, I smiled. Because of it, I feel like I am getting rid of the stress that came with our morning paper work. My nose appears to be filled with cool air, which helps me relax.
Lyka clenched her throat, I could tell. I could see her staring at me as well, but I was able to keep my eyes closed.
She inquired, “How is your marriage with your lovely husband?” When she gently called Atlas, her sarcasm was evident in her voice.
At her query, I silently smiled.
I knew her tongue was begging to know how Atlas and I were doing. She always asks me what Atlas did again, and it is something she does every day.
The reason she keeps asking me how Atlas and I are doing, she shrugs and does not say anything.
Her constant questions about Atlas made me think she still liked him, but she only pinched me on the side. As I stated that, I vividly remember how annoyed her face looked when I said it. She lamented that he had previously adored Atlas.
While keeping my eyes closed, I reply, “We are both alright.” I did not even try to look around.
Because of how quiet the place is, the cold and tranquil surroundings eventually made me close my eyes and make me asleep.
She yelled angrily, “Do not tell me, he brought another woman to your place again?” Her annoyance was evident in her tone of voice.
Lyka”s frown was the first thing I saw when I cautiously opened my eyes. When I saw how she looked, I shook my head.
With a grin on my face, I inquired, “Are you having a period?” I busted out laughing as the woman smiled. I told you, eh, I am right.
Then she rolled her eyes at me and said “Do not change the subject, Tss. You thought I did not notice that you did not answer my question properly.”
Because of that, Lyka gave me a frown and I giggled a little.
“Last night, he did not bring a new woman home; he just got drunk, and I did not know when he returned home because I was already asleep and when I awoke, it was morning,” I tell her.
When I told her that Atlas had not brought any women to our house again, she nodded and seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.
After that, we all became silent.
Aiden appeared with our lunch quite quickly. When I smelled the meal he was carrying, my dejected spirit was resurrected. I could smell the fried chicken”s aromatic perfume, as well as the dish”s familiar scent.
“Zup, A!” I greeted Aiden with a big smile on my face. I assisted him in carrying the food bag he was holding.
He made fun of me when he looked at me.
“Well, you came to my rescue as soon as you smelled the food I was carrying, so I am wondering if you will still help me if I am not carrying your food?” grumpy, imaginary Aiden asked.
The man”s overblown drama made me cringe. I can only shake my head in disbelief at how insane this man is.
“Your OA, A,” he said with a chuckle.
My heart broke for him. The woman quickly smiled as we approached Lyka”s seat. When she saw our food, her frown vanished and was replaced by a big grin.
She ripped open the paper bag that Aiden was carrying and took out the items that he had purchased one by one.
When I saw what Aiden had bought, I almost spat. There will be fried fish, my favorite caldereta, the fried chicken I smelled earlier, chopsuey, and rice on our Filipino table, which will not be lacking.
We were laughing and mocking each other while sharing Aiden”s food at the same time. We waited for a few hours after eating before returning to our department building because our first class was due to begin this afternoon.
Lyka and I are the same, and my class runs until four o”clock in the afternoon.
I did not realize our lesson was over until the last few minutes.
Even Lyka, one of my blockmates, came out looking stressed and exhausted. I was puzzled as to why they looked like way when they should have been celebrating the fact that our class was finished and we could go home and relax.
When I realized we had another classmate who had fallen asleep within the lecture hall, I chuckled. I was a little shaken.
I almost ran into Lyka as I was about to walk away, but I did not realize she was paying close attention to me. At her, I lifted my brows.
As she checked my face, she inquired, “What skin care do you use?” and “Are you taking any vitamins?” Because to her behavior, my eyebrows met.
With a smile on my face, I said, “You know, I do not use any skin care products, but I do take vitamins, so maybe yoo would like to?” As I waved at her the bottle of vitamins I drank every day, she winced.
For me, that was the doctor”s prescription. It turned out that my blood pressure was low, therefore my doctor instructed me to take vitamins on a regular basis so that my blood pressure would be at least normal.
I cannot help but stay up late as a college student, which is a huge risk factor for people like myself who are anemic and have a weak immune system.
Because of what she said, I was abruptly aware.
I could not help but yawn as I muttered, “Tsk, Lyka, what are you saying? Come on, let”s go home because I want to sleep.”
What I did was ridiculed by Lyka. We strolled together when she slipped her fingers around my arm. She continues to inquire about my secret for keeping my skin appearing young. I was just chuckling at her insanity.
As we went out of the University, the two of us were joking when Lyka”s countenance suddenly turned somber. She likewise slowed down and maintained her eyes on the road ahead of her. I was perplexed when I looked at her, but she did not even look at me.
When I spotted the familiar size of the man standing not far from the University gate, I almost stopped in my position when I noticed what she was starring at. He seemed to be phoning someone on his cell phone when he turned his back on us.
I did not have to look at him to figure out who he was since the way my heart sped up as I stared at him made it clear who he was. He is the only one who can make my heart beat that quickly.
I slowly muttered, “Atlas…” Lyka was taken aback when I said it. As she glanced at me, her forehead furrowed.
She seemed as though she was really contemplating something, and then she began to shake slowly, staring at me in dismay. What she did on a whim startled me.
Then she continued, her head shaking a little, “We are doomed, Anna. We are really doomed.”
As soon as I felt Atlas”s chilly glare at me, I could not help but wonder what she was referring to and why she appeared displeased while gazing at me.
The way he looks at me makes me shudder. He was the center of my attention. As he began to move closer to me, I held my breath.
I woke up from my slumber when he finally got close enough to touch me.
I dreaded to ask him, “H-Hey, what brought you here?”
I am not sure what is going on, but I cannot help but shudder beneath his gaze. The last time I was in front of him or spoke to him, I was able to keep my cool.
Is it because of his rugged appearance, which makes him look devilishly attractive? Is it because his hair is a little messed up? Is it because he is wearing a short and his lengthy legs are readily visible? His white complexion stood out even more because of the color of his black t-shirt sout.
The t-sleeves shirt”s precisely fit his arms and hit at mid-bicep, and the hem falls around his pockets, to name a few features.
I was taken aback by his completeness. It is certainly true that Atlas is really stunning, regardless matter which of the ones I listed makes me shake.
His icy blue eyes piqued my interest.
“I have been trying to get in touch with you for a while now, but I am having trouble.” He added, his gaze fixed on me.
I was perplexed and hurriedly retrieved my phone from my backpack. When I realized that I had three missed calls from him, I winced.
“I am sorry, I did not get a chance to answer your call, but because our professor is strict, I shut off my phone before our class began.” I explain to him. I even showed him my phone, which I soon regretted because the cute snowy bunny chewing a carrot was the wallpaper on my phone. I would like to punish myself for the foolishness I committed again, but it is already too late.
When he saw my phone, he smirked, so I hurriedly put it down and concealed it behind me.
He informed me, “Mom and Dad have asked us to have dinner with them tonight at their house.” I could not help but smile as my eyes expanded.
“Are we going to Daddy Sandro”s house?” I questioned him with a big smile.
My reaction shook him to the core. He was unable to talk right away and just stared at me for a long time.
After a few minutes of staring at me, he cleared his throat and simply avoided looking at me. When he saw Lyka”s serious expression, he was taken aback.
When I realized Lyka was still beside me, I sighed. On the verge of forgetting about her, I was thinking about her
Atlas returned his gaze to me when he saw how serious Lyka”s expression was as she glanced at him.
As I waited for his response, I was still smiling. I leaped a little and clapped with excitement when he softly nodded.
I really miss Mama Lila and Papa Sandro. I will call them Mama and Papa now because I feel awkward when I call them Mom and Dad.
