Chapter 27

Book:Wanting Her Back Published:2024-6-8

I took a step forward while glancing up at the big structure in front of me. The new hires are staring at me. Probably due to the fact that I am dressed in my school uniform.
I just realized I was still dressed in my uniform and had forgotten to change before coming here. When I realized I should have changed my clothing first, I almost got myself together, but I was already in a taxi when I recognized it. I am unable to stop it right now.
I should not have told the driver to go back to the University simply so I could change. That would be a complete waste of money.
Tsk, I have the appearance of a lost college student. There are as many skyscrapers here as there are in New York City.
This is a business complex, and it is a business complex.
Almost every major corporation has a presence here. It appeared as if they were rising the structure over the heights of the surrounding structures.
I stood outside Alessandre”s company”s entrance for a few minutes. I was undecided about entering or not. Tsk, as if I had a choice, don”t you think?
I should absolutely go in, even if I do not like it. When the ringtone on my cell phone rang, I almost leaped. The passing office gals kept gazing at me because of the ruckus. I smiled at them, embarrassed, as I struggled to get my ringing smartphone out of my purse.
I was kicking myself for putting my cellphone in my bag; it was as difficult as I could make it.
After a few seconds of my phone ringing, I whispered, “Hello?”
“Where are you now?” he said as soon as he opened his mouth. I shivered.
“I am almost there.” I said. The call was cut off since he was no longer speaking. I just let out a long sigh.
In an Alessandre Atlas Villareal, what else can I expect? Tsk, I guess he is just calling to see if I need anything, ah. With a shake of my head, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the situation.
I entered the company after a few minutes of building courage. The guard did not stop me; instead, he kept a close eye on me.
They appear to be perplexed as to why a college student like me would visit their firm.
Even though I have been here before, I cannot help but be impressed by the entire company. Villareal Tower Corporation is the Philippines” leading real estate company. It is also well-known internationally, so it is not unexpected that my company”s stockholders put too much faith in Alessandre.
The company”s revenues have expanded even more since he took over his father”s role. That, I believe, is why the stockholders are so keen for me to marry him. They are so taken aback by Alessandre”s business acumen that they will be put at ease if they learn that I am married to him.
They likely assumed that because I am Alessandre”s wife, he would assist my company in the event of a catastrophe.
I cannot say I blame them; Alessandre”s management skills are quite amazing.
I cannot help but be amazed once I get at Villareal Tower. I normally go to one of their other locations. I have only stepped into their main office a couple of times.
When the company has parties, I sometimes do not show up, or if I do, I sit in the corner and do not mingle much with the employees and other guests.
I walked straight to the public elevator at the company. There are two types of elevators at Villareal Tower.
In the elevator, I noticed a large number of staff waiting. They appear to be rushing to their separate sections. Perhaps they had just finished their meal.
I checked my watch, which was past the first, indicating that they must be operational at this moment. With a shake of my head, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the situation. That could be why they are in such a rush.
I was barely a few meters away from the elevator when I was stopped by the receptionist in the reception area. The woman scowled and lifted her brows in my direction.
“Where do you think you are going?” she said angrily. At its highest point, her right brow had almost reached the company lobby”s ceiling.
I am guessing she is attempting to scare me, but it doesn”t work for me.
Yes, I know, I have indicated before that I am easily scared by strangers, but there are exceptions, of course. Those deserving of an imposing background quickly intimidated me. I am referring to Uncle”s business associates. I will be intimidated by those who are extremely wealthy.
But to the woman in front of me, who is raising her brow at me as if I am a poor creature to whom she is superior, nah!
Yes, I am an introvert who is not particularly communicative, but I will not allow my personality to be undervalued, especially by someone who has made no contribution to my life.
I turned around to see if anyone else was behind me, hoping that I was not the one she was insulting. But there was no one following me, so I am confident that I am the one she is speaking with. She made a bothersome chuckle at me when she noticed what I done.
“Am I the one you are speaking to?” I inquire, pointing to myself. Her enraged grin deepened as she realized I had asked her a dumb question.
“Seriously,” she replied, “these days” kids are not actually doing anything sensible with their life.”
What she said made me frown. Is it possible that what she is saying is aimed at me?
“I jave been calling you before, but you did not even look back or halt; don”t you know that it is against the rules for beggar students like you to scatter here?” she said, her smile irritating.
She even gave me a disgusted look from head to toe. Because of what she did, my brows were raised.
Is this really how Alessandre”s people prefer it? She works as a receptionist in a business. Instead of being nasty, she should treat everyone with the highest respect.
Before I smiled warmly at her, I took a long breath. She was taken aback when she saw me smiling. I merely turned a blind eye to what she did.
I respectfully respond, “I am sorry, I have not heard you before.” Despite the fact that I was annoyed by what she had just said, I chose to remain cool.
“By the way, I was headed to the CEO”s office to speak with Alessandre,” I replied, still smiling.
She smirked when she heard what I said. I was taken aback and stared at her. She irritated me by crossing his two hands over his chest.
“Tsk, you are a pain in the neck. When are you going to calm down here at the office. How many times have I told you that my boss does not give a damn about you?” she smirked. What she said perplexed me even more. Right now, I am not sure what she is talking about.
“I knew you were a flirt and a bitch when I first saw you. That is exactly right when they claim we have no idea what is going on in other people”s heads. Tsk, you are too young to be a flirt,” she added. She even shook her head at me, her face contorted with hate as she looked at me.
Others who heard what she said were taken aback and stared at me. They are staring at me as if I am a horrible person.
What the hell is wrong with them? Is this how it went before you could talk to your fiance? I am not that knowledgeable, ah. There was no need for me to be embarrassed before seeing their CEO because there wasn”t even a briefing.
Even though my hearing tingled when she labeled me a flirt, I questioned her calmly, “Excuse me, what did you say?”
She drew nearer to me. I did not move and kept standing.
I stood there waiting for her to walk in front of me. When she smiled and moved close to me, she nudged me on the shoulder with his index finger. As she pushed me, my cheeks reddened.
Even though she only pushed me with one finger, the agony was excruciating. Because her nails are long, it appears to be more uncomfortable. Her fingernail is pressed into my skin.
I look around with my eyes wandering. Many people are keeping an eye on us. We have been able to get a lot of other employees” attention. My head was bowed. I do not want to draw attention to myself, especially if this is the reason people are looking at me.
“Look, I did not come here to cause trouble; in fact, I would not have come here if Alessandre had not summoned me; I simply need to see him,” I say softly. She just gave me a smirking look.
“Look, Miss whomever you are, I have heard that excuse a lot of times, and did you know that many employees have been dismissed because of people like you who are chasing after our Boss?” she asked, her brows knotted and she looked really scary. She had the appearance of the villains in the movies I watch. She reminds me of Cinderella”s hideous step sisters.
“What are you going to use as an excuse again, huh?” she asked. “That Sir Alessandre got you pregnant? That you have a child? Tsk, you cannot let me go through your nonsense, go away.”
She snatched my arm and dragged me out, but I resisted. Her nails are digging into my skin.
“What the fuck are you doing?” yelled a familiar voice from across the lobby. Everyone was taken aback, and the previously raucous environment turned silent. They even have control over the canopy so that it does not generate any noise. Even the woman who was hauling me out was taken aback.
We could hear Alessandre”s shoes on the polished lobby floor of the Villareal Tower. The woman turned to face him, her grip on my arm still firm. Because my arm was already hurting from her grip, I almost choked.
When she was approached by Alessandre, she tightened her grip on me even more. I arrived face to face with Alessandre, who now has a gloomy face and is staring at the woman, because she was holding my arm.
He whimpered as he examined my arm, which had nearly lost its color due to the woman”s strong grip on me.
“She is straining to speak to you; I have already told her she cannot; but do not worry, I will shoo her away as soon as possible,” the woman said, smiling at Alessandre. As she tightened her grip on me, I winced.
“What the fuck are you doing, bitch!” exclaimed Alessandre, enraged.
Alessandre”s shout almost made us jump. He was not weaned by any of his staff. His secretary was only a few feet behind him, but that was not enough to deter Alessandre. I also noticed that two of the four guards who had been stationed at the door had arrived, but they made no attempt to stop Alessandre. They were all just looking around.
“Do not worry, Sir, I will ban her from the firm so she cannot-” the lady said, smiling. Even now, she appears to believe that I am the cause of Alessandre”s near-burning. Alessandre abruptly yelled at the woman before she could finish her sentence.
Alessandre yelled aggressively, “Shut the fuck up!”
All of the staff in the lobby were forced to silence as a result of this. They are very careful not to create a lot of noise for fear of provoking their Boss” fury. Their breathing looked to be under control as well.
When she spotted Alessandre approaching us, the woman straightened her stance.
She increased her grip on me as a result of this. Her long nails sank deep into my flesh. In anguish, I winced. Because of the intensity of her grip on me, I am afraid my arm may be severed.
When Alessandre noticed my practically colorless arm, his countenance darkened even more. The only thing that could be heard in the lobby was the sound of his shoes.
The angel looked to move around because there was no sound, not even a snap. Because people are not moving, the world appears to have slowed down. As they watched us, they held their breath.
“You, bitch, do not come back here-” Alessandre grabbed the woman”s arm and cut her off in the middle of what she was saying to me.
She winced and was on the verge of swearing. She let my arm go since she was probably taken aback by Alessandre”s actions and didn”t expect her boss to act like that.
When she saw Alessandre”s enraged expression, she became pale. Anyone would be terrified of Alessandre”s expression at this point. His face was gloomy, and he appeared to be prepared to erupt in rage.
I have never seen him so enraged before. He is often irritable and frowns frequently, but I have never heard him yell like this. When he is angry, he is downright terrifying.
In anguish, the woman winced. Because Alessandre’s grip on the woman’s arm was so firm, I could almost hear his muscles constricting. I just came to my senses after that.
When I turned to face the guards, they simply avoided my gaze. They are apprehensive about reprimanding their employer.
I carefully walked over to Alessandre, seeing that the people had no intention of rebuking him.
My knees were wobbling, and I was on the verge of falling. I gently tugged the end of Alessandre’s suit as I approached him. He disregarded it and refused to let go of the woman, whose face had become practically colorless as a result of her dread and uneasiness.
Her tears were on the verge of dripping.
“I am fine, Alessandre. I am good, let her go,” I murmured, my voice trembling.
Alessandre shifted his gaze to me, his face still enraged. When I saw his grim expression, I flinched slightly. My lips quiver as I encouraged him to let the woman leave with a small grin.
Alessandre drew in a long breath and tightly closed his eyes. He is taking a deep breath and relaxing.
He let go of the woman”s arm after a while, which had now dropped to the floor with her hair splashed all over her face. I should have approached her to assist her in properly standing up, but Alessandre intervened.
He sternly muttered, “She hurt you, but would you still help her?” I did not talk and bowed my head. He let out a loud gasp, still annoyed by the woman, but he kept his cool.
I was taken aback when he unexpectedly picked me up. He is bearing me like a bride. I hear gasps from those who are witnessing the action.
“Bring me down!” I hiss gently at him, but he ignores me and continues walking. My face was buried in his neck. I”m embarrassed for his employees, who are staring at us in disbelief at what their boss has done.
They are most likely taken aback by the fact that Alessandre is carrying a woman in his arms. His employees were so interested in what Alessandre had done that they almost followed us into the elevator.
They seem to have forgotten about the woman who was crying in the foyer because of what Alessandre did to her, and are instead concerned about my identity because they just saw their boss carrying me, eh.
Alessandre”s secretary was left in the lobby, possibly to clean up the mess.
I did not take my face off Alessandre”s neck as the elevator doors closed. My trembling body is being soothed by his smell.
As he carried me, Alessandre was deafeningly quiet. I am not sure what he is thinking about. But there is one thing I am certain of right now: he is enraged.
I can still feel his body trembling with rage. Then he let out a long sigh.
I encircled his neck with my two hands and drew my face closer to his. He did not protest, so I assume he is fine with it.
Alessandre and I exited the elevator as it came to a stop. I just clung to him, not bothering to implore him to lower me.
I hugged him because I knew he would never listen to me again. On our walk to his office, a few employees passed by, but Alessandre woud not seem to mind.
I am not sure how he managed to open his office door while holding me in both hands, but he did. He went directly to the couch on the side of his office when he walked in. He sat me down with care. He then returned to his desk and activated the intercom system that was attached to his Secretary”s desk.
I was further perplexed as to why he would summon his Secretary despite the fact that he had been left in the lobby. Soon after, his secretary entered carrying what appeared to be a medication kit. When I saw that the man was still panting as he handed Alessandre the box he was carrying, I winced.
He appears to have just emerged from the lobby, yet he was immediately on the lookout for a medicine pack, which his Boss had requested. He is a hard worker, for sure.
Alessandre spoke rapidly to him. Because they were a little far away and their voices were feeble, I could not understand what they were saying.
I look around Alessandre”s office with my eyes wandering. Although there is not much in the way of design, it appears to be a welcoming and comfortable place to work. In his office, the colors chocolate brown, black, and white are prevalent.
A wide floor-to-ceiling window was located behind his table. From there, I can view the entire city, including the buildings beneath his company”s structure.
