Book:Fated To The Ruthless Alpha King Published:2024-6-8

“We’re leaving now, come dear, you don’t have to return to that place… Come with us.”
“W-w-what are you going to do with Miranda???” She feared.
“Nothing you should worry your little head about dear. The most important thing to you should be that you’ve done something that you will live to enjoy for the rest of your life. We’ll have so much money after this, and we’ll live together like family now…. Come dear, let’s go now that there’s still time….”
She shook her head stepping back, “no!!!! You never told me that this is the kind of business you were into! Had it been I knew, I’d have NEVER called you uncle!”
“Leah!!! Do you want the silver guards to come and catch us arguing here?! I won’t stand here to tolerate your rudeness! Let us go this instant!”
“I’m not going anywhere with you!”
“So you choose to remain here instead? You choose to remain here even risking the fact that the alpha will kill you once his mate does not return? You choose to die like that, huh???”
“It’s better to die here than to be an accomplice to what you’re doing now!! I can’t believe you did this all for money!!! How could you???”
“You are already an accomplice, whether you like it or not. YOU were the one who led her out of that house, not us. You’re the one that brought her here, and no one but you will take the blame once the alpha finds out his mate is missing…”
“NO!!! I will NOT let you take her away from here!”
“I’d like to see you try to stop me.”
“You’re going to have to go through me first before you even…..” The dart hit her neck swiftly, right on the spot where his partner had aimed. Leah then fell to the ground dizzily, before she finally closed her eyes.
“All those times you and your niece used for long talks would’ve been saved if I’d done this earlier,” he said, pecking the tranquilizer gun.
“Good job Patrick, now help me lift this wolf. We have to hurry! The silver guards will be patrolling this area soon. Not a moment to loose!!! Please, watch out for the traps as we go! ”
**********
One hour.
Two hours.
Three hours passed. He’d been waiting, he’s still waiting, but still, Miranda hadn’t come. He tried calling her phone…. Darn it…! She didn’t carry it along.
Damian began to get worried, no… He’s been worried before but not as much as he is now. He’d been having a bad feeling about letting Miranda go out, even when she was still in this room. He knew he shouldn’t have let her. He told himself not to, but he also never wanted to stop her from doing what her heart wished. Only one time he tries to prove to her that he’s not against her freedom, and now here comes the regret.
“Guards! ”
They came rushing in to answer.
“Yes sire!”
“Call the beta, let him send out a search party. The queen went out for a short walk and hasn’t yet returned till now. I fear that she may have gotten lost. Ensure that they search every house thoroughly until they find her and bring her back..!”
“Yes sire!”
And that was how the search for the silver Luna began that night, as swarms of guards combed the whole territory, and with every second that passed without her returning or being found, Damian’s heart feared getting closer to the bleak reality.
It finally happened when the search party ended the evening of the next day and the guards who had made sure to leave no unturned stone returned to give the reports of the search; alas, the queen was no where to be found. No one had even seen her in the town last evening, which means that if she left the pack house, she must have followed the other direction which leads straight to the border..
“She ran away!” Damian slumped on his chair, not even believing the words that came out of his own mouth. If she left here willingly on her own, and went that way, then the truth cannot be denied nor mistaken. But then again, it made no sense to Damian. No sense at all.
“I wouldnt jump to such conclusions yet sire,” the beta responded.
“Then for what other reason could she have gone missing then? You all saw how she left yesterday, no one forced or lured her out of here, she went on her own…” His words stopped short as he tried to bring some facts into his remembrance but then brushed it away, placing his mind back to what Renard said.
“Are there any other reports that could prove otherwise?” Like he hoped.
“Apparently sire.” Renard then signaled to one of his men holding a small box in his hand to come forward. After collecting the box, he opened it to reveal two small tranquilizer darts inside.
“Tranquilizer darts, this is more than enough evidence to prove that the queen has been kidnapped.”
“Kidnapped…?” He said the word as if he was just hearing it for the first time.
What????
When?
H-how?
He couldn’t believe his ears. Honestly…. This sounded so much worse than the thought of her even running away. He didn’t know why Miranda leaving willingly on her own sounded so much better than knowing that one bastard has her captured somewhere, but then those darts could have belonged to anyone…..
“The darts… Are you sure that Miranda was hit with them?”
“Positive sire. We performed a small DNA test at the lab before bringing it to you, the DNA on the dried up blood found on the needle matches the sample of Miranda’s hair on the brush madame Jane gave us. On the ground where we found the darts, there were different footsteps belonging to at least 3 people, then a wolf. We are more than certain that the queen was kidnapped after being knocked down by the tranquilizer.”
Those words brought such unspeakable pain to his heart, unspeakable pain and regret.
“There is one more finding sire.”
“What is it?”
“We tested the two needles, and something else was pretty odd; Miranda’s DNA did not match the blood on the second one.”
