Leo activated his Spiritual Power to resist the interference and influence of the flute sound, and continued his attack on Luke.
It seemed that Luke couldn’t dodge Leo’s strike, as the Divine Dragon Sword pierced through his body.
However, in the next moment, Luke’s body slowly dissipated in front of Leo.
It was an illusion!
Leo’s gaze sharpened, realizing that he hadn’t used Divine Awareness when attacking Luke.
Luke’s body reappeared beside Leo, a smirk on his lips. In his left hand, a sharp ice blade materialized, aimed at Leo’s right arm.
Clearly, Luke didn’t intend to kill Leo but rather wanted to sever his arm to capture him.
Leo’s Spiritual Power burst forth to protect himself, paying no attention to the ice blade swung by Luke. Instead, he gathered Spiritual Power in his left fist and struck at Luke’s head.
The best defense is a good offense!
If Luke’s ice blade had landed, Leo would have shattered his head into a bloody mist.
In other words, while Leo might lose an arm, Luke would lose his life.
Luke’s face changed at Leo’s strategy of sacrificing himself to harm the enemy.
His own life was certainly more important than Leo’s arm. Luke had no choice but to abandon his attack and focus on defense.
Leo’s powerful fist struck Luke’s extended fan-shaped defense.
The immense force caused Luke’s body to fly backward. After landing, he slid several meters along the ground.
With a grim expression, Luke looked at Carley and said, “Carley, there’s no need to hold back. If we can’t capture this kid, kill him!”
“Yes, Luke,” Carley replied with a cold gleam in her eyes. Her hands swiftly formed seals.
Suddenly, Carley’s body split into five, then ten figures in the blink of an eye.
The ten figures surrounded Leo tightly.
In the next moment, all ten figures played their flutes simultaneously, unleashing invisible sound waves that assaulted Leo.
The sound waves penetrated everything and once again affected Leo’s senses.
A dazed look appeared in Leo’s eyes as the figures before him multiplied and overlapped.
At that moment, ten red-banded snakes that had been lying on Carley’s ten figures shot towards Leo simultaneously.
With their sharp fangs, the red-banded snakes aimed for Leo’s neck.
Luke also made a move. With a flick of his right hand, a white projectile appeared.
The white projectile flew towards Leo but wasn’t aimed at him directly. Instead, it exploded upon approaching him.
The explosion produced white powder that filled the air and enveloped Leo.
“This is… Heart-Devouring Poison Powder!” Frank’s eyes lit up.
Heart-Devouring Poison Powder didn’t need to be inhaled; even a slight contact with the skin could cause poisoning.
“Leo, no matter how capable you are, today you will undoubtedly die. Offending the William family means losing your right to live in this world!” Frank sneered coldly.
Leo used Divine Awareness to regain clarity of mind.
Although the flute sound could make one lose focus and fall into an illusion, it wasn’t a significant threat to Leo as a Cultivator.
Facing the ten red-banded snakes and the white powder approaching him, Leo immediately summoned two talismans.
A blue watery mist spread out from the talismans, blocking the white powder from entering.
Soon after, flames ignited outside the protective watery mist surrounding Leo.
The high temperature of the flames instantly evaporated the white powder, causing the illusory images of the nine red-banded snakes to disappear as well.
To Leo’s surprise, however, the actual red-banded snakes ignored the flames and emerged from them, fiercely colliding with the watery mist.
The red-banded snakes’ fangs sprayed corrosive and highly toxic venom. The watery mist was quickly corroded, leaving a small hole for the red-banded snakes to enter.
One of the red-banded snakes launched itself towards Leo after rebounding from the watery mist.
Leo’s face changed as he quickly reached out with his left hand and grabbed the snake by its seven-inch mark.
The seven-inch mark on a snake is its vital point. In theory, the red-banded snake should not have been able to attack or bite Leo anymore.
However, the snake twisted its head in a strange arc and bit Leo’s left hand instead.
Leo’s face turned pale as he quickly flung the red-banded snake away.
It was a close call; he almost got bitten.
Although the venom wouldn’t be fatal to Leo, dealing with its poison would be troublesome. Moreover, he was still in the midst of battling Carley and Luke.
After being thrown by Leo and landing on the ground, the red-banded snake swiftly burrowed into the soil in an attempt to escape.
Leo couldn’t let it get away. He locked onto it with Divine Awareness and waved his right hand, sending several Qi blades accurately into the ground, hitting the red-banded snake that had burrowed inside.
Soon enough, blood seeped out from the ground where the blades struck.
“My red-banded snake!” Carley said with reluctance and a cold gaze towards Leo. “Do you really think that killing my red-banded snake will save you? Look at your hand!”
Leo looked down at his hand and his face immediately changed.
He saw that his five fingers were slowly turning black.
“The red-banded snake also carries a potent venom that can penetrate through the skin!” Carley taunted. “Do you feel that everything in front of you is becoming hazy? Your strength gradually fading away?”
A smug smile appeared on Carley’s lips.
The venom of the red-banded snake had a strong hallucinogenic effect that blurred one’s senses and weakened their strength.
Leo clenched his left hand slightly and indeed felt his strength draining away. The things in front of him began to blur as well.
He quickly activated his Spiritual Power to cleanse his body of the snake venom.
Soon enough, the strange sensations disappeared from his body and his mind cleared up from dizziness and confusion.
With his normal state restored, Leo’s anger surged. His gaze turned icy as he swiftly locked onto Carley’s true form with Divine Awareness.
Immediately after that, Leo dashed towards Carley aggressively.
“How is this possible!?” Carley was astonished that even after being poisoned, Leo could still attack and see through her true form.
However, Carley believed that Leo wouldn’t last long after being poisoned. Therefore, she chose to retreat instead of engaging him head-on.
As Carley retreated, her nine illusory figures disappeared as well.
While Carley retreated, Luke sneered. Ice elemental energy surged within him as he stomped on the ground and intercepted Leo.
A cold arc formed at the corner of Leo’s mouth. He suddenly changed direction and charged back at Luke.
Just as Luke felt he had outsmarted Leo, Leo flipped his right hand and conjured a small black mountain peak.
A layer of pitch-black mist spread out from the black mountain peak, quickly enveloping everything within a twenty-meter radius.
Underneath the black mist, Luke’s body suddenly felt heavy as if a thousand-pound mountain was pressing down on him. His speed abruptly slowed down.
“You can go die now,” a glint of coldness flashed in Leo’s eyes as the Divine Dragon Sword erupted with an astonishing sword aura.
Swish!
The Divine Dragon Sword left Leo’s hand and turned into a streak of light shooting towards Luke.
