Chapter 28: Privacy
Visheia’s POV
He nodded, “Okay then. I’ll see you tomorrow,” he said. I shook my head, “I guess not. It’s better if you stay away from me,” I said coldly.
He smirked, “This palace may be big, but I’m sure we’ll run into each other.” I hate to admit it, but he’s right. He was about to walk towards me, but I raised my hand.
“You better stay where you are,” I warned. He stopped walking and nodded. “Chill.” I pursed my lips together as my brow furrowed.
“Seriously, Darius. Can I have my privacy in this place you call yours?” I asked seriously while looking straight into his eyes.
He was slightly silent at my words. Then, after a while, he nodded again, “I’ll give you privacy after this question,” he said.
What could this guy be asking now? “Okay, ask me,” I replied. If he asks about my identity, I’ll really kick him out of the room.
“Are you going to McNeil’s victory party?” I raised an eyebrow at the question. What does it matter to him if I go?
“Is it important for you to know if I’m going or not? You’re the king, not my father,” I said, glaring at him.
“Your father. I’m a father.” I winced at what he said. This guy is really weird. He just says whatever comes to his mind.
He looked straight into my eyes, “I will be the father of your children,” he added, causing me to glare at him. My face darkened as I crossed my arms over my chest.
“That’s very inappropriate to say, Your Majesty. The rumors are true; you’re a big womanizer,” I said, disgust evident in my voice.
He shut his mouth and raised his hands in surrender. “I was only joking, Lady Anastasia. I didn’t think you’d take me seriously.” I frowned at what he said. Joking, huh?
“Oh well, Your Majesty. I’m not joking around. If you want someone to play with, find someone else, not me. I’m a very serious and private person, Your Majesty. I don’t want to tarnish my mother’s name. I don’t want to be called a home wrecker, the bitch who stole the king from his fiancee.”
He was speechless at my words. So I grabbed the doorknob and opened the door. “So please, if you have nothing else to say, you may leave.”
I heard him sigh, “Alright. I’m sorry,” he murmured before leaving my room. But before he left, he turned to look at me.
“You really don’t want to admit you’re Visheia. But that’s okay, there are still many days left for me to find out the truth.” After saying that, he left.
His life is really a mess. Before, he hurt me without blinking. Now, he wants me to come back to him like nothing happened? He really has a lot of nerve.
I closed the door and locked it. I immediately went to the bathroom to take a shower. After taking a bath, I got dressed. I simply put on an emerald dress, two inches above my knees. It is simple yet sexy.
I looked at the clock on the table to check the time. “5:30,” I murmured. One hour before we leave.
When I came out of the palace, I saw Cassie patiently waiting in front of the car. “Cassie,” I called her name. She immediately smiled and looked at me.
“You’re here,” she said happily as she walked towards me. “You look beautiful as always, Anastasia!”
I smiled and looked at her intently. She looked great in her pink dress. Pink suits her well.
“You don’t look bad yourself. Anyway, shall we go now?” She laughed while her cheeks turned red.
“Of course,” she agreed. “Let’s get in,” she added. The two of us got into the car.
I was quiet while on the road. Meanwhile, Cassie was telling stories about Rachelle.
“I hate her guts. That’s why I won’t stop until I ruin her day,” she said with a grin. She even seemed proud that her actions were effective.
I chuckled softly, “You feel good annoying her, then?” I asked. She nodded and grinned.
“Indeed. It’s fun to see her angry face. She looks like an erupting volcano,” she said, laughing.
“She gets angry easily. I wonder why she has a bad temper? From what I know, a soon-to-be queen of this kingdom should be reserved and mature enough. Why is she acting childishly?” She looked at me.
“That’s what I know too. That’s why I always tell her that she doesn’t deserve to be queen because she’s immature. She gets very angry whenever I say that.”
I was about to talk but I stopped when I felt the car stopping, “Ladies, we have arrived,” the chauffeur announced.
“Anyway, let’s not talk about her anymore,” she said. I nodded in agreement. The two of us got out. Outside the mansion, we immediately saw Liliane waiting for us.
A wide smile appeared on her lips when she saw us. “Anastasia! Cassie!” she yelled with joy as she waved her hand at us.
Cassie waved back as well. “You look pretty tonight, Liah,” she complimented her. Liliane widened her smile and shyly waved her hand.
“I always hear that from you, Cas,” she said, blushing hard. She always hears it but still isn’t used to it. She’s pretty and humble.
“But you really are pretty. If I were a guy, I’d definitely court you,” Cassie joked.
Liliane laughed and playfully punched Cassie’s arm. Cassie pretended to be in pain, jokingly saying, “Ouch,” as if she was really hurt. Liliane chuckled and then looked at me.
“You really came, Anastasia. Nathan is anticipating your arrival. Let’s go inside, it’s getting cold out here,” she said. I nodded, “Okay.”
When we got inside, Liliane guided us towards Nathan. We saw him in the middle of the crowd, people congratulating him. They were genuinely happy for his victory.
I secretly smiled. It’s good to see him doing well all these years. I made the right choice not to drag him into the chaos of my life and family.
“They’re here, Nathan,” Liliane said to Nathan. He looked at us and politely excused himself from the people he was talking to.
He walked towards us. “I’m happy to see you arrived safely,” he said and smiled.
