They both startled. Mo Xiaomo seemed a little flustered. She hastily drew back her hand, but Zhong Teng held it tight.
“You weren’t asleep?” Whispered Zhong Teng, gently tucking Qingbao into the quilt with his other hand.
Mo Xiaomo’s wrist was grasped by Zhong Teng, making her feel hot, and she blushed uncontrollably as she recalled the more intimate action they had had the other day.
It seemed that the temperature of the whole body was slowly rising…
“Let go.” Mo Xiaomo whispered, trying to catch her messy breath.
“You have to get used to it one day.” Zhong Teng still held her hand, gently, then closed his eyes.
The thoughtful Mo Xiaomo frowned and went into a deep sleep. The next day, she tried to lift her hand and rub her eyes, but found her hand still held by Zhong Teng.
“You…” Mo Xiaomo’s cheeks and even her earlobes tuned red.
“Why didn’t you sleep in the middle of the bed last night?” Zhong Teng seemed to have woken up early. His voice was low and clear.
Mo Xiaomo blushed and she pulled her hand away.
“I have no such a bad habit!” She was visibly lacking of confidence to say so.
“Isn’t it your habit that used to crawl into the middle of bed every night?” Zhong Teng raised an eyebrow and retorted.
“You…” Mo Xiaomo didn’t know what to say and gave Zhong Teng a dirty look. Then she rolled out of bed.
Seeing that the blush on Mo Xiaomo’s face had spread to her neck, Zhong Teng chukled. “I forgot to tell you that the first night after we met, when you crept into my arms, we almost sparked.”
“What?” Mo Xiaomo was taken aback. That night she clearly remembered having an indescribable dream, and in her ecstasy she volunteered to kiss the man.
“So it wasn’t a dream, it was real with Zhong Teng?” She thought.
“You started the kiss. But it was me who did the rest…” Zhong Teng whispered, still looking straight at Mo Xiaomo.
“Stop!” Mo Xiaomo’s mind was in turmoil.
She interrupted Zhong Teng, covered her hot ears with her hands and got up to brush her teeth.
After dressing and washing, Mo Xiaomo went downstairs, and saw Fang Keyu preparing breakfast and Zhong Nanping practicing Tai Chi in the courtyard.
“Good morning, you can have breakfast.” Fang Keyu smiled gently. After a night, she was being so nice to Mo Xiaomo that Mo Xiaomo could not find fault with her.
Her enthusiasm was just enough.
Zhong Teng walked slowly to the table and sat down, buttoning up his shirt. Fang Keyu put warm milk, roasted wheat and Fried eggs in front of him.
Zhong Teng frowned at the Fried egg. Mo Xiaomo calmly took it from his plate and nibbled at it.
“You still remember?” Zhong Teng raised his eyebrows. The surprise in his eyes transformed to excitement.
Mo Xiaomo did not speak. Fang Keyu took the chopsticks and tapped Zhong Teng on the head. “You are a daddy and still such a picky eater!”
“Your Mr. Zhong is a picky eater when he is a grandpa. So, picky about food regardless of age but genes.”
Zhong Teng contradicted Fang Keyu without changing his face. Acting like this, he looked like Zhong Ze in the ward.
Mo Xiaomo could not get a word in and had no intention of joining in the warm argument.
She recalled that the only photo of her mother and her was the picture that she was still her mother’s womb.
After her mother gave birth to Mo Xiaomo, her mother was bleeding heavily. Because of her rare blood type, there was no suitable blood source to rescue her. Then she died.
Watching Fang Keyu, Mo Xiaomo got choked up as she imagined her mother preparing breakfast for her.
A fine satin red box suddenly flashed before her eyes, bringing Mo Xiaomo back to reality.
“For you.” Zhong Nanping’s voice came from the side.
Mo Xiaomo was puzzled, but she opened the lid carefully.
What came into her eyes was a crystal-clear jade bracelet with a faint halo under the light of the dinner lamp.
“What do you mean?” Mo Xiaomo didn’t understand Zhong Nanping’s intention. She looked up at Zhong Teng. He kept winking at her, suggesting that she should keep it.
