Candice saw Lily laugh madly, as if she was crazy, and she knew Lily really could do everything.
Lily controlled the future of the Stewart family, Emerson’s reputation and Robert’s freedom. Although Emerson didn’t like Lily and Robert had been discharged from prison, he still needed to marry Lily. He was so arrogant and domineering, but was being threatened by a woman. Candice felt so depressed.
Lily watched Candice lower her head. She felt proud because this woman finally couldn’t be arrogant in front of her.
But Candice looked up at her a moment later and smiled at Lily, “Lily, let’s make a deal.”
Candice left the cafe and looked up at the sun in the sky. The sun was westward. It was no longer dazzling, and even beautiful.
Emerson, Robert, this was the only thing I can do for you.
Candice went to the kindergarten to pick up her son. Robert was already waiting at the door. It’s been a day. Robert still kept a straight face and was a little angry. He couldn’t forgive Candice’s stubborn decision.
When Robert was driving, he saw Candice and the son still hugged each other tightly in the car and was unwilling to separate each other for a moment, he couldn’t help but said, “Candice, your world and life can’t just was around Edward. You must learn to let go, and Edward must always learn to grow up. You will spoil him if you keep guarding him like this.”
Robert gave Edward a glance and tilted his head to his mother’s chest.
Candice rubbed her son’s little head, “Robert, I know what you mean. I will also adjust my attitude and slowly separate from Edward. Please give us some time.”
Candice said so, what else can Robert say?
The dinner time was Candice’s most tormenting moment. Because this time was a longest time in a day that she needed to face Emerson. She knew her tolerance and restraint, and also knew that Emerson’s tolerance and restraint were no less than her own. Even though the two of them had a lot of words which wanted to talk with each other, they could not even make eye contact. Emerson picked up Candice’s favorite lotus root slices, but he just could put them in his son’s bowl.
Robert complained to Emerson about Candice going to the kindergarten as a cleaner. Emerson asked her, “Do you feel tired?”
Candice shook her head, “No bad, I used to do these things every day.”
Emerson nodded, “If you like it, just do it.”
Robert was unhappy, “Brother…”
Regardless of his brother’s protest, Emerson said to Candice, “You don’t need to worry about Lily’s wedding dress. It’s ok. Just change another one.”
“Well, I see.” Candice nodded obediently.
It was late at night, and Edward was already asleep. Candice didn’t sleep, and was still writing at the desk.
She wanted to write a letter to her son every birthday, so that even if she was gone, he will receive gifts from her every year on his birthday. In the early morning, Candice finally wrote eighteenth letter to her son. A drop of tear fell on the paper, and left signs of damp on it.
Candice quickly wiped away the tears, folded each of those letters flat, put them in a kraft paper bag, and locked them in the bedside cabinet.
Candice was very tired and sleepy, so she went to bed and lay down to sleep.
After a while, Edward sat up from the bed and watched his mother for a while, then suddenly got out of bed and opened the door. Without in slippers, he walked to the door of Emerson’s room on the first floor.
He wanted to push open the door, but when his little hand was on the door, he hesitated again.
The five-year-old had a huge secret in his heart.
His mother told him that he couldn’t talk to others, but if he didn’t talk to father, he could only see his mother die.
