Chapter 39 Forced to Come Back

“As long as you are good, I promise they would be fine.” Jacob said lightly.
Katherine said angrily, “Jacob, they’re your children.”
“So, what are you worried about?”
She was choking with anger and said nothing more. Indeed, what could she worry about? Jacob was just using the child to get her back to him.
The airport was far from the city center, and by the time Katherine got there, it was already work time.
At this moment, Theo called her.
Katherine looked at the phone and hesitated. What should she say after she answered the phone, telling him that she was going to back home?
Jacob looked at her, snatched her phone, hung up quickly and shut it down before she got angry.
“Come on.” He put her phone right in his pocket.
Katherine was so angry that she did not speak to him all the way back. She kept her eyes closed, but the more she thought about it, the more irritated she became.
It was night when she returned home.
Looking at the people around her, a subtle feeling crept her. Maybe that was the feeling of homesickness.
They got into the car, and Katherine asked, “Where are we going?”
“Home.”
Jacob paused and added, “The children are there, too.”
Katherine frowned slightly. Home. Which home? The old residence?
When she thought of Laura, she didn’t want to go back.
In the beginning, Laura let Jacob marry her because of her grandsons. If Laura knew that she had taken away the children of the Murray family for more than two years, she must be more displeased with Katherine.
“Mom loves them both.” Jacob could see that Katherine was worried and he comforted her, “The kids aren’t crying either.”
Katherine felt something was wrong. “When did you bring them back?”
“Yesterday.”
Katherine was a bit annoyed. She was afraid that Jacob might follow her, so she did not dare to see her children, but she didn’t expect that he had already taken them away.
When they arrived at the Murray family, Katherine couldn’t wait to get out of the car. She rushed into the Murray family before Jacob got down.
Jacob said the children weren’t crying, but Katherine didn’t believe him. Felix might be quiet, but Merry, the delicate little princess, was always crying.
At the door, however, Katherine heard loud laughter from inside. She recognized it was Laura’s voice and her two children’s laughter.
Katherine slowed down and looked in at the door and she was surprised.
The Murray Family was always so clean she couldn’t even see any dust, but now there was a big mat, on which was a big layer of sand, and a lot of toys on the floor.
“Grandma, did you see it. This is the castle I made!” Merry’s soft voice was coquettish.
Laura, sitting next to her, took one look at it and complimented, “Merry does a great job!” The more she looked at her granddaughter’s cheeks, the more she liked it and couldn’t help kissing it.
In Katherine’s impression, Laura had always been elegant and cold, but now she was so kind and gentle.
Katherine paused, looking inside at the three people. A subtle feeling filled her heart.
When children grew up, it was not enough for them to be accompanied by their mother.
For a moment, Katherine was in a dilemma.
Jacob came over and saw that she was still standing outside. He glanced inside and stood still without speaking.
Felix, however, found Katherine. He was delighted and hurried over. “Mom!”
Merry stopped and looked up, leaving her toy and her grandmother behind.
“I miss you so much, Mommy.”
“I miss you too, baby.” Katherine held her two children tight.
Merry was about to say something when she saw Jacob and screamed out, “Bad man!?”
Jacob frowned.
Before he knew she was his daughter, he only thought it was funny, but now that he knew she was his own child, he was suddenly not satisfied. He poked her round cheek and said, “Call me daddy.”
Merry immediately ducked into Katherine’s arms and looked timidly at Jacob.
Katherine felt their heads and said softly, “Yes. He is your father.”
Merry, who had a bad impression of Jacob, wasn’t willing to call him daddy.
Felix also kept a watchful eye on Jacob, the bad man who had been watching his sister before!
Children were more likely to have a good impression of someone who treated them well, like Laura. But Jacob had made a bad impression on the two children before, and now it was hard to change their ideas of him.
When they refused to call him daddy, Katherine didn’t force them, but Jacob stood by with a calm face.
His children were so kind to Theo, but were so wary of him.
Laura sat inside, patting the sand off her and glancing at Katherine, as coldly as ever. “Come in, the meal is ready.”
Katherine walked in with the children, still a little nervous.
She never felt herself in Laura’s presence.
With two children here, the first meal was actually quite pleasant and harmonious.
It was just that both of them were so attached to Katherine that they thought of her whenever they ate.
Laura saw this in her eyes, and her original dislike of Katherine had disappeared. Now she didn’t think Katherine was annoyed.
