Chapter 63 That Would Be Great

Book:The Secret Surrogate Lover Published:2024-5-1

Harold didn’t look back or refute and waited until she closed the car door before turning to look at her.
The slender figure gradually faded away. She looked so delicate in early spring with the cool air.
Forcing himself to stop watching, Harold restarted the car expressionlessly and drove directly back to his house.
Jenny opened the door and found that James was sitting in the ward. He was sitting on the sofa with a tired face. When he saw Jenny coming back, he greeted her.
“When did you come here?” Jenny put down her bag and sat back on the bed, asking while looking at him.
“A long while.”
As Jenny heard what he said, she reckoned that he might know Harold having dinner with her.
“I…”
“You don’t need to explain.” James said in a gentle voice, “I know you have nothing to do with him.”
Jenny raised her head and gave him a deep look as she heard that.
She just quarreled with the person she loved the most outside and was comforted by the person who loved her the most after coming back.
What was that all about?
Things didn’t always work out as you thought. The person you liked wouldn’t fully understand you. But the person who could fully understand was the one that you didn’t love. This was obviously an unsolvable question.
James turned his head and took out the food he bought. “You’re not full, right? I brought you something to eat.”
After speaking, he untied the bag with his slender fingers and placed them on the table one by one.
He looked back at Jenny and motioned for her to come over.
Jenny looked at him in surprise, “How do you know I haven’t eaten anything?”
She quarreled with Harold after Simon left, so Simon wouldn’t be able to tell James about that.
James looked at her and smiled softly at her with tenderness in his eyes. “I guessed.”
“Guess?” Jenny was puzzled.
“Yep!”
James knew that according to Harold’s personality, he would be furious as Simon mentioned his name in front of him.
They wouldn’t finish the meal peacefully.
Although he didn’t have a good impression of Harold, he admitted that no one knew about his opponent better than himself.
When Harold and Jenny were having a meal together, Harold would definitely lose his temper when he heard James’s name.
Jenny frowned slightly, fixing her eyes on him. “You’re always so considerate to me. Won’t you get tired of this?”
She really wanted to know whether it was really necessary for him to be so good that he had to consider her feelings all the time. If Jenny asked herself, she would never be able to do that to anyone.
This man always considered her. He would think ahead of her no matter what kind of things she needed to encounter. He had always been like this for so many years. Jenny couldn’t tell whether it was good for him to constantly do this.
“How would I get tired of taking care of you?” James smiled softly as he always did, “Come here.”
Jenny walked to the table, pulled the dining chair, and sat down. The table was filled with some bland but delicate dishes, which could perfectly be taken as night snacks at this time.
Jenny stretched out her hand and picked up the chopsticks to eat, but feeling bitter in her heart.
Others might think that she was a wanton woman for she was always lingering over two men.
But she wasn’t that kind of woman. She just loved one person deeply and couldn’t hurt another person by letting him accept her loving someone else.
If she could, she really hoped that James wouldn’t fall in love with her. They would always treat each other like the first time they met. She was an innocent girl in pigtails and he was wearing a white suit.
That would be great.
James always had a smile on his handsome face, looking at this woman who had made him in love for more than ten years.
He knew everything about her, including her likes and dislikes, and even her menstrual period. He remembered all these things clearly. Everything about Jenny had almost become a part of his life for so many years.
As long as she was living a happy life, he could do anything for her.
The nursing staff sat in her room and didn’t come out to disturb them.
Jenny ate some food and put down her chopsticks, gazing at James in front of her.
Since he flew here from home, she had never found a chance to chat with him alone. She wanted to know the situation in the hospital and how his mother was…
“James…!” She just called James’s name. Suddenly there was a sharp pain in her arm. She frowned in pain, almost unable to breathe!
“What’s wrong?”
James got up instantly as he saw that, walked around the table a few steps to get her, and looked at her hand clasping. She was bleeding!
Before he could think about it, he hurriedly took emergency measures to stop bleeding. And then he asked the nursing staff to call the doctor to come here for an examination.
If it was just a normal wound, he could treat it directly. But now it was obviously inflamed and must be examined by a doctor.
After the medical staff diminished inflammation, eased the pain, and sterilized the wound, they finally left the ward again.
Jenny was lying on the bed with her lips pale. Her complexion was also pale.
“How can the wound be torn suddenly?” James was puzzled. Even if she touched the wound, it wouldn’t turn out like this.
He thought, “Was Harold Quarrington torturing her again? That bastard.”
Jenny was helpless.
She was almost hit by a car on the road, so Harold hurried to pull her arm unconsciously.
On the way back, she was still afraid and sad, so she ignored the pain in her arm.
But she didn’t plan to tell James about this, he would be worried.
She shook her head, “I don’t know. Maybe I used some strength unconsciously.”
“You must pay attention when you go out. The wound has not healed yet. Don’t walk around at will. Tell me if you need anything.”
“I know.”
“I am really worried about you, for fear that you can’t take care of yourself. Now it seems that coming here is the right choice. You really can’t do it alone.”
Jenny couldn’t help laughing when she heard him say that, “Yeah… ”
James also smiled, “No one can let me do this except you.”
After he said that, Jenny didn’t know how to respond, so she changed the subject, “How is my mom?”
What she worried most was her mother. She couldn’t contact her now, nor could she go back to her homeland to find her.
She woke up from her dream countless times and always recalled the scene when she told her mother that she was going abroad.
And her mother was very happy. She hadn’t seen her mother so happy for a long time.
Being her only daughter, Jenny wasn’t able to accompany her when she was sick, which was destined to be her biggest regret.
James comforted her softly, “Now her condition is not bad. She’ll occasionally go out for a walk. Now she is also familiar with the nurses in the hospital. There are also people around her.”
Speaking of Marry Lopez, James had been trying his best to find the cause of her illness. And he also contacted many domestic and foreign experts to follow her condition. She often got sick in the past, but she had gotten better now, so Jenny didn’t need to worry too much.
But the only thing was that she was more concerned about her daughter. Because of this, James often showed her the latest news about Jenny. Therefore, things were much better now.
