“I… I can’t give you an answer now. Please give me some time to think about it, okay?”
James saw in her expression that this was a difficult decision for her to make.
“Sure. I will give you time to think about it. I have waited for you for so long now, these few days won’t matter anymore.” He took her hand. “Don’t worry about your mom, let me take care of her.”
“Thank you.”
“Don’t thank me. I have been loving you for so long now, and you knew it already. It’s an honor for me to help a person I am in love with. If possible, I might even be able to make you my wife. I am so happy about it!”
Jenny lowered her gaze. Except for her appreciation, there is nothing she can give James. She has already given her virginity to another man. Same as her heart. She knows this was not fair to James. He was such a wonderful man, there must be so many girls in the hospital who liked him.
Even though she wasn’t sure if she was pregnant, but if she was, would she really get an abortion? In the end, this is still Harold’s child!
“Please go and have some rest, Jenny. I can see that you are not feeling quite well.” James led her to a patient room without any patients. The bed was made. “You can have a rest here, if I know anything about your mom, you can come as soon as possible.”
Jenny nodded, this gave her some sense of security. “Alright, thank you.”
“Stop thanking me. If you really want to thank me, just marry me.” James winked at her, and said in a joking manner. “I will be waiting for your answer, as long as you say yes, I am willing to do anything for you.”
While she watched him walk away, Jenny suddenly hoped that she was not pregnant. This way, she would be able to agree to the marriage to James. If so, she could finally have the calm life she was dreaming about. The life of a normal person. James would be a wonderful and loving husband just as he would be as a father. She loved Harold, but he was going to get married soon and become her brother in-law. This kind of relationship was going to be a barrier between them. She would need to give up her love towards Harold, since it has been only one-sided anyways.

When Harold got back home, he saw that Torah was learning to cook in his kitchen.
Seeing her fiance home, Torah dried off her hands and started smiling.
“You’re home early! I was going to keep this from you, but you caught me.”
“Hmm?”
“I have never cooked in my life, but I thought, after the wedding, I am going to be your wife, I should learn to make food, in order to take on your stomach. This way you won’t try to find other women!” Torah hugged his arm and shook it slightly. “Since you are home early today, how about we take a walk after dinner?”
Harold looked at his watch and said, “I still have a video conference today.”
“Oh…” Torah nodded her head disappointed, but she understood. “Your job is more important, don’t mind me. We can spend some time when you are done. After we are married we will have plenty of time to take a walk together. Go ahead, I can entertain myself!”
“Alright, be careful while cooking.”
“Sure!” Hearing his caring words made her smile even more. “I surely will be. And I will do my best to learn to cook, and be a worthy wife!”
Harold pressed his lips together, took his bad and went upstairs. Torah watched him and couldn’t help herself but smile. If she never met that liar Brad, and could’ve given Harold her innocence, she might be even happier now. Now she has to endure her sister and Harold sleeping with each other, how can she feel comfortable with it. But this is the only way that can guarantee her get married into the Quarrington family.
As long as Jenny kept her mouth shut, this was going to be perfect. After she is married to Harold, anything could be solved. Even if she wanted to get rid of Jenny. She only needed to want it, anything was possible.

As long as her mom was in the ICU, it was impossible for Jenny to see her. When she got home, no one in the house was nice to her. As if she did something to insult the whole family.
When she got to her own room, she changed into her pyjamas. Suddenly her phone rang. She tied up her hair and picked up the phone to take a look. An unknown number sent her a message about a transfer of 500 grand into her account.
Who would send her money out of the blue?
“Use this money to get medical attention for you mother. Don’t ask who I am.”
This was the first time that Jenny had seen such an amount of money. She was completely startled. She logged into her online account to check her bank balance, only to find out that this was actually real, and not some kind of a sick joke!
Who was this person?
“Why are you sending me money? Are you sure you sent it to the right person? I don’t know you, I can’t possibly accept this money.”
She didn’t dare to take the money, it might have been a trap. No one would just transfer money for no apparent reason, unless she knew him? The amount was too big. Even though she really needed the money, but taking randomly transferred money? She hasn’t gotten to that point yet.
“You are Jenny Andrews, right? Your mother is in the ICU and needs money urgently?”
“This person actually knows me!” Jenny was feeling more uncomfortable with every minute. She decided to call the number, but whoever it was declined her call, as if they were afraid she might know the voice.
“If you want to thank me, focus on your studies. I have found an English teacher for you, tomorrow someone will contact you.”
Studies? This person even knew that she had quit her studies!
“Who are you really? I cannot take your money, you need to at least tell me your name!”
“I already told you, that’s not important. It’s already late, you should go to sleep.”
When Jenny sent another message, she did not get a reply anymore. When she tried to call again, the number was suddenly switched to inactive number.
Jenny felt this whole situation to be very absurd.
When she was just going to call her bank, she received a call from another unknown number.
