Chapter 556 Cousins Sharing Different Blood

The night filled the sky, and it was rare for the sky to be clear. The moonlight was hidden behind the clouds, looking mysterious.
The dim moonlight shone by the window and was covered by the bright light in the villa, but the scenery in the living room could not be covered up.
The woman sitting next to the bar counter was wearing light red silk pajamas and holding a goblet in her hand.
The red wine shook in the transparent glass. She was holding the glass with her slender fingers. The light cast her shadow into the wine.
Her beautiful face appeared in the wine glass with a bit of sadness.
When she heard the footsteps behind her, her eyes moved and the expression on her face became vivid. There was even a smile of surprise on her lips.
When she turned around, she saw the man slowly walking down the stairs. Her face had regained its calmness, even carrying a bit of indifference.
“Why are you here?” She asked gently.
James slowly walked down the stairs. When the light fell on his face, he looked like a fine work created by God. He looked perfect from all angles.
Beautiful was originally used to describe men.
Some people didn’t get it, because they had never met a man that deserved the word “beautiful”.
James was so beautiful that whoever saw him would have a hard time moving their eyes from him. Everyone was stunned by his beauty but none of them dared to speak out.
Because no one dared to disturb this breathtakingly beautiful man.
It was not only about his face, but also about his temperament.
Mandy remembered that she saw James for the first time when she had just gone to university. At an event, he was standing upright on the stage, giving orders.
His tone was calm as if he was talking about his plan for a sunbath.
Her sharp facial features, coupled with his indifferent expression created distance between him and other people yet she just couldn’t stop looking at him.
James had been all that Mandy was thinking about. She wished to meet him but he had been busy at work, not even looking at her.
Mandy was not discouraged. She secretly believed that James must be sweet to his woman, although he was cold to other women.
Time had proved her right. Yet she wasn’t his woman.
Thinking of the fact that James was already married, Mandy clenched the goblet in her hand, hiding her hatred.
She couldn’t understand why James had chosen such a woman when he didn’t even look at herself.
James walked down the steps arrogantly, throwing the fruit at Mandy without caring about what she was thinking.
“James, what’s wrong?” Mandy stared at the fruit plate at her feet and frowned in confusion.
“How dare you bring this stuff to my wife? Do I need to warn you too?”
His low voice was pleasant to hear, especially on a quiet night.
It would be more enjoyable to hear him speak if one could ignore the coldness in his tone.
“James, what do you mean? Valerie specially prepared these fruits today. Is there a problem?”
“No wonder. I’ve reminded you that if you failed to teach your sister, I’ll help you,” he mocked mercilessly.
Mandy was puzzled. “James, there must be a misunderstanding. Is there anything wrong with these fruits?”
“You are a doctor. Don’t you know that those food are unfriendly to pregnant women?”
From the moment he learned that Kara was pregnant, he checked a lot about things that they should pay attention to, especially about diets.
And now, he saw that food on the blacklist in front of Kara, and he was enraged. He almost wanted to kill the person who delivered it.
“Really? I didn’t pay attention to this. After all, I am not a gynecologist. I don’t know these things very well.”
“I’ll leave with my wife tomorrow,” James said with a mocking smile.
“James, I’m sorry. This time, I will definitely teach Valerie a good lesson. I won’t let her make trouble next time.” Mandy put down her glass in a panic. She had no idea what Valerie had done behind her back.
But it was very obvious that James had blamed Valerie’s mistake on her. She was innocent.
“Next time?”
James wanted to kill Valerie now.
“Mandy, I know what you’re thinking, but my wife is still here. You have to control yourself!”
James stood in front of her. Although his face was full of anger, he did not immediately turn to leave.
“James, I’m really sorry, but please calm down. Right now, the situation outside is not good for you, where can you take her? I promise such things wouldn’t happen again.”
James sneered.
Because her guarantee was useless, he would not give Valerie a second chance to hurt Kara!
“James, Ms. Kara’s physical condition is not optimistic. You should be clear in your heart that if she goes around with you, she might lose the baby. Miscarriage for ordinary women is very hurtful. Her body is fragile. Maybe this miscarriage will take her life!”
Mandy threatened James with Kara’s body so as to make him stay.
Mandy knew in her heart that James stayed here only because she could treat Kara and protect her.
James frowned and hesitated. In the end, he compromised.
He walked to the bar counter, picked up a glass of wine, smelled it, and took a sip.
Seeing that he took the initiative to drink, Mandy was so excited.
“Do you know other young people from the Abbot family?”
James’ casual question surprised Mandy.
It was too sudden. She had to think about it before answering.
“Yes. My father should have three cousins, two female and one male. But I heard they have all died in an accident.”
Disgusting feelings fleshed through James’ eyes. Mandy didn’t notice it. James never expected Kason to give such an explanation.
“What a coincidence. My mother’s family name is Abbot too.”
Mandy looked at his handsome face and said shyly, “I know, your mother is one of the ladies passed out, Vivian. So, you are my cousin!”
From the moment she fell for him, she had secretly paid attention to him. So, for many things about him, she was even clearer than him.
“Cousin?”
James revealed an ambiguous smile which was kind of teasing.
“Mandy, so we are related by blood.”
Mandy was somewhat flattered, and most importantly, joyful. This was the first time that they’d had such a close conversation.
“Yes, you are my cousin. But we are not related by blood. I once read a document in my father’s study. My two aunts were adopted, and the identity of the uncle was not clear.
“Therefore, although we are cousins. It doesn’t affect my liking for you.”
Mandy’s hands trembled nervously after she said that. She was about to confess to James.
“…”
