Speaking of bed, Kara remembered that they hadn’t had sex for a while. His breath was burning not, which made her retreat when it landed on it.
However, she had no support behind her. The only thing she could rely on now was him, who was standing in front of her.
He was tall. She was sitting on the railing looking at him.
She wrapped her fair arms around his neck as she sized him up seriously.
She found that James had lost weight recently.
James, on the other hand, did not look at her. Instead, he was staring downstairs.
Downstairs, Valerie, who had a bandage on her arm, was talking to the servant. The servant’s expression kept changing. James couldn’t hear what they were talking about.
In the end, the servant seemed to have made up her mind. She nodded and walked into the villa. Valerie walked into the villa, looking proud as if she was about to do something big.
The balcony was relatively remote. Valerie and the servant were talking in the corner. James happened to see them.
He narrowed his eyes and looked at Valerie with a malicious expression. She must be plotting something again.
The two of them rested in the villa for a few days, and after Mandy gave Kara a check-up, she went to get some medicine for her.
The two medicine bottles in Mandy’s hand had no names. Kara didn’t really want to take them.
But she couldn’t say no to Mandy’s kindness. So, she took the medicine over and thanked Mandy.
“I’m very curious. How did you meet James?”
Mandy stared at Kara curiously, trying to chat with her.
Kara blinked her big eyes. She couldn’t remember when she met James. It seemed that she had seen James when she was seven or eight years old.
However, at that time, she was timid and reticent. When her father asked her to greet James, she did not dare to look up.
They met again on a rainy day in the early spring. She did not wear much, and she felt very cold.
“Ms. Kara?”
Seeing that she was still in a daze, Mandy was a little impatient. She reached out to shake Kara.
“Don’t you want to tell me? It doesn’t matter. I’m just afraid that you’ll be too lonely. That’s why I thought I should chat with you.”
“No, I was thinking about it.” Kara quickly came back to her senses and explained honestly.
James had gone out for something. Mandy also worked. She only came back to check Kara’s body after work.
There were only Valerie and Kara left in the villa, and Kara did not want to have any more conflicts with Valerie. So, she was indeed kind of bored.
“I met James when I was sick, he took me to the hospital.”
“That’s it?” Mandy was surprised.
From what he knew about James, it was hard to imagine that he would take a little girl to the hospital.
Kara must have played tricks to approach James.
“Yes, my father knew James. So, I met him when I was a child, and he knows me.”
When Kara said this, she was thinking that maybe James remembered her because she was too cute when she was young.
The two of them chatted for a bit more about random things. Mandy asked questions and Kara answered them.
Seeing that she couldn’t get much information, Mandy lost her patience. So, she got up and left.
Kara looked at the spying device installed by someone that she didn’t know and felt annoyed.
At dinner time, James was not back yet, and the servant asked Kara to go downstairs to have dinner.
Kara went downstairs to the dining room. Seeing Valerie sitting at the dining table, she smiled.
“Mandy called my James and he said he couldn’t come back for a while. Mandy went out,” Valerie explained with a cold face.
“…”
Logically speaking, as James’ wife, Kara should be the one calling him, yet Mandy did it. Kara nodded with a smile.
There were many dishes on the table, including all kinds of seafood and vegetables. She even smelled alcohol. It was the duck.
Seeing that Kara was looking at the dishes, Valerie clenched her forks nervously.
“Are you waiting for me to feed you?” said Valerie.
Kara glanced at her and slowly sat down. The servant immediately served her rice. She held the bowl and did not know which dish, to begin with.
She didn’t like any of the dishes. In the end, she only ate the cabbages.
“Don’t you like the dishes?” Mandy asked doubtfully when she saw that Kara was only eating cabbages.
“No, they are nice.”
Kara smiled, to avoid embarrassment, she also ate some other dishes, but it was only a little.
But when Valerie saw that she had eaten other dishes, she was happy in her heart, waiting for a good show.
Kara had no appetite these days. She did not eat much. But since Valerie and Mandy were there, she couldn’t leave. So, she slowed down her speed of eating.
Valerie was ready to admire Kara eating those things, but Kara was eating like a bird.
She put a bowl of turtle soup in front of Kara. Turtle soups might lead to miscarriage.
“Although it’s a waste to give you my favorite dish, I don’t mind letting you taste it.”
Kara looked at Valerie in surprise, didn’t expect Valerie to serve food for her.
Although she did not have much appetite, she still took a few sips to show her friendliness.
“The taste is not bad. Thank you.”
“Well, you are lucky. This kind of thing is not everywhere,” Valerie sneered.
Kara had almost finished eating. When she saw that Valerie had also put down her bowl, she put down the bowl and fork, got up, and walked to the living room.
She blinked when she saw that the fruits had changed. She saw kiwis in the morning and she was thinking of trying them. But now they were gone.
Seeing Kara stare at the fruit, Valerie was even more confident about her plan. Fruit would double the effect.
But Kara left without eating any fruit. Seeing that, Valerie was pissed off.
After Kara went upstairs, she suddenly felt nauseous. She ran to the bathroom and vomit everything she had just eaten.
She covered her belly in pain, with one hand on the sink with one hand. In the mirror, her face was pale.
After a long while, she slowly raised her head. She vaguely knew what happened to her. How ridiculous!
When the uncomfortable feeling disappeared, she washed her face and walked to the bedroom.
Just as she was about to rest, she heard a knock on the door.
Opening the door, she saw Valerie standing outside with fruit.
“The maid prepared it for you.”
Before Kara had a chance to refuse, she stuffed the fruit into Kara’s arms and left impatiently.
Kara looked at the clean lychees and longans, feeling that Valerie was weird.
So, after she closed the door, she put the fruit plate on the tea table and went to bed.
