Mandy left the study and stared at the door with a profound gaze.
She went downstairs and sat in the living room. Only then did she ask the servant to open the door. Four police officers in casual clothes came in.
“Ms. Mandy, we are sorry to disturb you. We received a report that a wanted criminal appeared in your villa.”
“Someone reported it?”
Mandy frowned. This was beyond her expectations.
Not many people knew that James was in her villa. Who reported it?
She frowned and glanced upstairs, but she quickly retracted her gaze and smiled, letting the police officers do their work.
The servants followed behind the officers as they opened rooms one after another. Then they planned to go upstairs.
“I’m sorry but upstairs is my bedroom. There is no one at all. Are you sure you want to check it?”
The police officers hesitated. They didn’t dare to offend Kason’s daughter.
“Ms. Mandy, since we are here, we have to investigate thoroughly before.” One of the police officers tried to negotiate.
They didn’t dare to provoke her but they had to go through the forms.
“I’m sorry but I don’t like random people getting into my bedroom.”
But they were random people, they were police officers…
The police officers looked at each other awkwardly. They all felt that Mandy was deliberately stopping them. There must be a secret that she didn’t want them to know upstairs.
They must catch James. It was their mission…
“Go upstairs!”
At this time, a vigorous order came from outside the door. They turned around in surprise and saw Kason walking over.
“Mr. Kason.” The four police officers heaved a sigh of relief and nodded respectfully before going upstairs.
“Wait a minute!” Mandy coldly berated, a bit angry.
“Father, someone reported that I have a criminal hidden here. Do you believe that?”
Kason looked around the living room a few times. His gaze stopped on the servant and asked politely, “Have there been any guests recently?”
The servant looked at Mandy awkwardly. Before Mandy could show any expression, Kason turned around and said to the four police officers, “Since someone reported it, go check it out, so you can finish the mission and prove Mandy’s innocence.”
The four police officers nodded and sighed in their hearts, thinking that Kason was a good, polite person.
They check all the rooms upstairs except the study. Because it was locked and only Mandy had the key.
“Ms. Mandy, please open the door of the study. We will leave if there is nothing wrong,” one of the police officers advised.
Mandy looked at Kason. Seeing him nod, she unwillingly opened the door of the study room.
The door of the study opened. Apart from the three bookshelves, there was a desk and a sofa. The police officers walked in and took a look. They did not find anything unusual. When they walked out of the study, they apologized to Mandy.
Mandy nodded perfunctorily and asked the servant to see them off.
After they all left, Mandy turned around and saw Kason standing in the study. She suddenly got nervous.
The police officers were easy to fool, but his father wasn’t.
Kason walked around the bookshelf and sat on the chair behind the desk expressionlessly, staring at Mandy with a faint smile.
“Mandy, you didn’t do anything wrong. Why are you nervous?”
“Dad, what are you talking about? I don’t understand.” Mandy was nervous why playing dumb.
“Mandy, don’t play dumb with me. If you haven’t seen James, why would someone report that you hid him?” Kason emphasized.
Mandy was kind of angry. She looked at Kason and said, “Dad, yes, I admit that I have met James. It was me who brought him back to B City. But I have no choice. I like him. I can’t just watch him be taken away by your people.”
At this time, behind the bookshelf, James and Kara could hear the situation in the study.
Kara was originally very nervous, but when she heard Mandy’s words, she poked James’ chest and raised her eyebrows at him.
James lowered his head to look at her. His brown eyes were indifferent. Because he could not make a sound, he hooked her lower jaw and bit her lips.
Kara opened her eyes wide in shock. She didn’t expect him to bite her at this time. She was angry, angry, and helpless. Yet she didn’t dare to make a sound, so she could only stare at him with his big eyes.
James was afraid that he bit too hard. When he released her, he licked her comfortingly.
That was his confession. Wasn’t she the clearest one about who he liked?
If she dared to let her imagination run wild, there would be more severe lessons for her.
Kara was softened by his kiss. She grabbed his arm and responded tentatively.
While they were kissing deeply, the situation in the study was completely different.
When Kason heard that Mandy liked James, he was like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. He immediately exploded and scolded her angrily.
“Mandy Alston, you should give up as soon as possible. James is not suitable for you.”
“I haven’t tried it yet. Dad, how can you be sure that he isn’t? Dad, for my sake, let him go.”
Mandy walked to Kason and grabbed his arm, trying to plead for mercy.
In the past, as long as she pleaded Kason, Kason would agree to her request. But this time, Kason’s attitude was very firm.
“Impossible. This brat destroyed my lab and killed so many people. I will never let him go.”
“Dad, you took Kara away. She is James’ wife after all. He cares about her. That’s why he did such a thing.”
“Mandy, you are siding with outsiders.”
At the thought of how the laboratory that he had spent more than ten years building had been completely destroyed by James, Kason felt like killing James.
“Mandy, that bastard James is a waste of your youth. I think the second son of the Larsen family is quite good. If you marry him, you will be the young mistress of the Larsen family. With my help, maybe the entire Larsen family will be yours.”
“Dad, no. I just like James.”
When Mandy heard him mention Roger, she immediately stopped him and turned to look at the bookshelf with a dark face.
“Dad, Roger is just a friend. Nothing would happen between us.”
Kason was a little impatient. He glanced at her and warned her coldly.
“Mandy, you’d better be careful not to let me find any of your faults. Otherwise, I won’t let you off.”
“Okay, Dad,” Mandy agreed with a smile.
Kason left the study room with a bad look on his face. Mandy quickly followed him out. At the door, they met Valerie.
“Dad, did you not find James?”
Mandy narrowed her eyes and gave Valerie a warning look. Valerie covered her mouth and realized that she was wrong.
Kason stopped in his tracks and turned to look at Valerie. His expression was benevolent and very gentle.
“Valerie, what did you say just now?”
“No, I didn’t say anything.” Valerie tried to find an excuse.
Kason stared at her, feeling even more suspicious, “Valerie, do you know something? Tell me, you can ask for anything you want in return.”
“Dad, I recently saw a Prada bag. Buy it for me,” Valerie said excitedly.
