It was undeniable that it was James who spoiled Kara. That was the reason why Kara acted at will in front of him.
James could only smile. He was fine with it.
Compared with her being timid and separating herself from the world, he would rather see her acting willful and arrogant. He didn’t want to see her scared simply because he talked loudly.
He held her smiling face with his big hands and smiled evilly. He suddenly approached her and stopped when he was close to her lips.
“Little fool, you want me to spoil you, right?”
He finished his sentence by raising his voice. His deep voice made her restless, and even her limbs and bones were numb.
The next second, he kissed her rosy lips, which were sweet and smelled of alcohol.
He kissed her passionately, put his other arm around her slender waist, and wrapped her tightly.
Kara did not dodge. She missed him as well since she had not been intimate with him for a long time.
It was the only way to prove that he was still with her.
She hugged his neck with her slender arms, leaned back slightly, and kissed him back.
They longed for each other and blended in with each other.
There was only a dim light on.
She was like a delicate rose in his arms. Because of his nurture, she shook and bloomed.
She responded to him with a hint of shyness and sincerity, and she clung to his body bit by it.
“Kara, are you sure you won’t regret it?
His low voice was like wine, which was intoxicating.
“Yes. But I will only regret it after I leave you.”
She said firmly, her amber eyes flickering.
Water ought not to be saved when two people were taking a bath. James proved such a saying right.
Their bath went on for more than an hour, and he refilled the tub with hot water several times. After he dried himself with a bath towel, he spread it in his arms and held her. He then got up and returned to the bedroom.
They lay together under the covers. James felt her forehead. The temperature was normal.
“Are you hungry?”
“Yes.”
James got out of bed and put on his nightgown. Kara nervously held his hand.
“I will go with you.”
“You can still manage to get out of bed?” James glanced at her and smiled.
Kara blushed, but she still braced herself and insisted on going with him.
James knew that she was afraid that he would leave, so he agreed. He went to the closet and got her one of his shirts and pants to put on.
He did not let her walk. Instead, he left the bedroom with her in his arms.
It was a private BNB, and Nolan reserved all the rooms. Therefore, there was no one else besides James, Kara, and Nolan, who was in the next room.
James put Kara on the sofa and placed the fruit plate in front of her. “Have some fruit if you’re hungry. I’ll go to the kitchen to fix some noodles for you. Do you want to eat noodles?”
“Yes.”
Kara was obedient, because she could see what was going on in the kitchen from where she sat.
The corners of James’ lips curled up. He got up and went to the kitchen.
Since they did not know when they would be leaving Country R, there was a lot of food prepared in the kitchen. James put on a pot of hot water and put the noodles in it.
Just as he was about to break two eggs, a pair of hands reached out from behind and wrapped his waist.
“You’re not being a good girl again. Didn’t I tell you to sit tight and wait for food?”
“I just wanted to hug you. Be the bigger person here and forgive me for this once.” She came out from behind and tilted her head to look at him.
James was helpless. She was like a koala all over him. He couldn’t do his things properly.
“You should put some garlic and chili as well.” She pretended to be a know-it-all and bossed him around.
James raised his eyebrows and smiled. “Good for you to remember the steps of making noodles. You’ll be the cook next time.”
Hearing that, Kara got cold feet.
She only read and remembered Libby’s instructions. She couldn’t actually do it.
The meal was ready, and the two sat at the dining table to eat.
Kara enjoyed the aroma and said, “James, you don’t have a sense of taste. How did you manage to make tasty noodles?”
James pointed to his forehead. Kara didn’t understand.
“Cooking is not just about taste. You have to use your brain.”
She was speechless.
Was he implying that she was stupid?
‘Whatever’, Kara thought. She was hungry now, and she just wanted to eat.
She made a noise while eating noodles, which was very inelegant for a lady.
James glanced at her and did not say anything. He ate elegantly.
Seeing him, she realized that she was being a bit rude. She wiped the corner of her mouth with a tissue and continued eating.
Nolan smelled the aroma and opened the door. He saw the two of them eating and sighed.
Nolan thought, ‘Being single is so miserable. No one cares about me when I’m hungry.’
James raised his head and looked at Nolan. “There are still some noodles left in the pot. Have at it. But you’ll do the dishes later.
Nolan was speechless.
He surrendered to food in the end.
Seeing that Kara had finished eating, James took her back to the room to get some rest.
Kara had not slept well these days. After having a good meal, she nestled in his arms. The familiar scent soon calmed her down, and she slept soundly after a short while.
When her breathing became light and slow, James got up, tucked her in, and left the bedroom.
Nolan had just finished cleaning up the kitchen. He was about to get to work when he saw James.
“Who fuddled her today?”
James would make those people suffer. They actually had the guts to do that to Kara.
Nolan took out the files containing the information he had found. Those people were all painters, but they were just amateurs compared with Jadon. Therefore, what Jadon said about bringing Kara to see the world was just a lie.
“If they want to play, I might as well join them.”
James pursed his lips tightly. His straight lips revealed a hint of killing intent. His slightly narrowed brown eyes were cold, and he looked like a lion that had just woken up.
“Show this to John. Let him have a good time.” Nolan was a little hesitant.
After all, they should lay low for now. What if they exposed themselves? It wouldn’t be worth it at all.
But he couldn’t let James know his concerns. He could only work with John to prevent that from happening.
John managed to install virus software on those people’s phones. Once they turned on their phones, they would become John’s prey.
There was one law in the hacker world that would never change. Absolute safety didn’t exist.
If the hackers were capable enough, nothing would stand in their way, whether it was pupil detection or face detection. They would always get what they wanted.
After leaving Nolan’s room, James walked to the window and looked at the cold moon outside. He had mixed feelings.
He had thought that he could push Kara away, but when she got in the car, she was still unconscious. Finally, he failed to control himself.
Even in her presence, he felt uneasy. If she left with Corey, and he couldn’t know whether she was alive or dead, he might as well die.
He did not want to suffer, so he decided to do as Kara said. When she was sick, he should stick to her side so that both of them could be at ease.
As for the treatment method, Corey was too shrewd, and James could not figure out what Corey was up to.
If Corey did not come clean, James didn’t mind taking the risk and negotiating with Kason.
Kason was greedy for profit. Kason wouldn’t turn James down as long as Kason got what he wanted.
